The Melting Pot - Larkspur
Great place to have a special dinner. Wonderful location.
Everything about our meal was great. We stopped in the bar before we ate and grabbed a cocktail to start. We were celebrating our 'Friendaversary' and we were seated in 'Lovers Lane' by request. That part was great. Food served was a LOT and it was all good. Our waitress is a little loud, but other than that, service was good.
The ONLY complaint I have is when the bill came, they charged me not once but twice for my FREE chocolate covered strawberries. They did reverse those charges, but the tip estimate at the bottom of the receipt was for the previous incorrect amount. Something they need to fix in their software perhaps?
Had a great experience our server Kristin and her trainee were awesome would highly recommend to all
What started out as one of the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in years, due to a brand new server who was incredibly slow, was totally redeemed by management.
Dinner took 3.5 hours. It took an hour and a half to get our first course. This was the servers second day and was lost. Did not know how a decanter worked, took 30 minutes just to order drinks, and every course was slow, but timing got better as the night went on.
I was ready to leave zero tip. I ended up speaking to the general manager who immediately got the ball rolling and was very helpful.
After 3.5 hours we were tired and read to go. Food was delicious.
Too our surprise, the manager comped the entire dinner!!!!
We were not expecting this. As much as this server struggled, huge accolades the management for making this right. As someone who goes out to dinner all the time and really enjoys restaurants, I have never had managment do this at any restaurant, including the one who almost killed my wife (bad food allergy which we made clear to them. Long story)
Thank you management for doing the right thing.
We will be back!!!
Amazing food! Is now a restaurant to always come to for any celebrations!
Service was not good, food was mediocre, ambiance is nice, menu selection options limited (two people have to agree on having the same cheese, meat broth and chocolate... seriously?!).
It was just okay. Very expensive. $250 out the door for 4 with 2 adult beverages total
We all loved dessert and might come back again for that
Birthday. It was a little loud...
Everything was great until the table behind us started using their phone alarm to time all of their food. My advice would be to put it on vibrate if you are going to do that. Food and staff were wonderful though!
Service was slow. Waitress was inexperienced. Be careful about what you are actually ordering as you could be over charged which happened to us. Food was good so for a special occasion I would return.
We had hair in our cheese and in our desert . Our waiter complained it would be.m a long night
Very good food, service, and atmosphere.A definite must
The waiter was terrible. He did not even know what temperature to set the oil to cook the food. We did not see him for 40 minutes. We were charged for our dessert that we did not even get since we ran out of time. We were at our table for 2 hours and still could not finish our dining experience. He also could not figure out how to get the bill correct. He did not seem to care about us or our service and did not appear to want to be working there. We have dined there multiple times and this was by far the worst experience we had ever encountered at the Melting Pot. If you get the blonde haired waiter with red lips tattooed on his neck, I would request another waiter immediately.
It was hot inside the dining hall. Sweating hot.. The food was good and it's a fun experience. The manager needs to better train their staff on how to get repeat business by personalizing and catering to the customer to make the customer feel appreciated and not just a paycheck.
We were a group of four and all meet-up at the bar for a quick cocktail before being seated. Once at the table we ordered a bottle of wine. When we asked if it would be okay to open a couple of bottles of our own we were told there is a $20corckage fee for each bottle. So we said, can you waive one fee or give us a break since we're good patrons. The manager said NO. Just a flat NO. It was like a big slap in the face saying "you pay, you eat, you get out." Zero personalizing or feeling appreciated. FYI our bill with tip came to over $300.00 not including the bar tab so we weren't being cheap. Patrons want to feel at home where they dine. This felt like we were at a strip mall restaurant by such flat disregard for making the customer happy.
Great experience allways fun at the melting pot will return again
Awesome aesthetic, quiet, sensual. Really awesome experience and food
Waitress was very informative, patient, kind, considerate. Food was a lot tastier than expected for a “chain”. More of a place that knows what works and has the routine down than a mass production place. Will definitely come again.
Been here many times. However with the increase in price, we don’t feel we’ll be back. 4 servings of cheese and chocolate for $105 with no drinks, water only. Only get a cup or so of melted cheese and even less of chocolate.
Only reason we went is because my daughter requested it.
Loved the cheese fondue and dessert fondue, but main course was bland. Very pricey given the quality of the food.
Worst service ever in my life. Every (and I mean every) single course was botched- drinks forgotten, then wrong drinks brought, then a salad I didn’t order (do you want to keep it my waitress asked? When I said I didn’t need it but could keep it it on the house after all the mistakes already she said I’d be charged) then wrong meat with main course when we pointed it out she came back to say it was the same as we ordered even though the member of our party had had it several times before and knew it wasn’t. When we asked another server they finally came back with the right order- but we got charged for both! Then I got burned just below my eye with a glob of oil when out pot got too low and must have been turned up too high, it was the end and oil was flying everywhere. I had kids with me thank god no one got hurt. They said that had never happened in 13 years except when someone put wet kale in. Sorry this was meat, not wet, was sitting in there for 90 seconds (we were timing) when the oil started popping and flying out. When waitress came to ask for our dessert order after 20 min wait I said we can’t order you never gave us the dessert menu. When she came back I’d pushed a plate of raw meat (the wrong order they’d brought us along with a dirty skewer) to edge of table. She asked if I wanted her to take it. Hmm... rest of table was cleared and we are about to get dessert- yes, please take the tray of raw meat no one thought to clear. The Best part? When the check came, not a single item had been removed from check as an apology for all our troubles. As I mentioned they actually charged us an extra order for their error. For nearly $200 for 3 kids and adult with one bud light, 3 hours and worst service I’ve ever had, I will definitely not be back. Manager took one item off only after I complained. This is a 2 star restaurant at best.
This is the best thing you can have for fine dining. Totally 5 stars. Loved it. Must try atleast once
Horrible date night experience! Go somewhere else for a special night out/avoid at all costs. Dinner took almost 3 hours to finish. Most of the kitchen staff quit because of unfair working conditions. The entire restaurant was put into one section(very loud/kids running up and down the aisle/etc...). Most of the staff was stressed out/not friendly at all. Food quality was WAY below standard(bread was stale/veggies were dried out/meat was poor quality, not prepared). They were out of numerous food options/said they did not have time to re stock. It was the WORST melting pot experience we have ever had( we are regulars to several melting pots ). With so many other date night/romantic options in the area, there is no reason to choose this one.
Normally a great night, but this time we have exceptionally bad service.
I go here every year to celebrate my daughters life. Wendy and her team are always so kind and thoughtful. Love this place for all the memories from when my girl was alive to the present celebrations. It is also a great place for a romantic dinner or a family meal. I just can't say enough to support this place!
We had an excellent experience. Wendy, Kristen, and a gentleman (who's name we didn't catch) provided top notch customer service and far exceeded our expectations. They were also extremely accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten free diet (celiac safe). We will definitely be returning and recommend them to others.
This is one of mine and my husband’s favorite places to go for a special occasion!! It is quiet and romantic (we sit in the lover’s lane section). The food is always AMAZING. The servers have always been very professional and kind, and they are extremely accommodating to the gluten free diet. Yes, you’re usually there for ~2.5 hours if you do the full 4 course experience, but it is totally worth it and the hands-on fondue and cooking your meats yourself is so much fun! We love it.
Food was amazing, service was outstanding. Very comfortable I can’t wait to go back.
The service and food wer excellent. We had a nice table but two groups of small children sat across from us about half way through the meal. It was February 16th and our “romantic” celebration of Valentine’s Day. We like children and have our own child. Just bad luck they had to be so close
We had never been before and are already planning our next visit. The service was good, the food amazing, the experience was unlike anything we have been to before.
It’s a wonderful experience but VERY EXPENSIVE. Four people, 5 beverages was nearly $400. It was $475 with tip. Be warned 😄
The perfect dinner if your looking for not just a meal but an experience with family and friends.
It was everything I wanted to share for my husbands Birthday!! The menu and choices were great! It was my second time and his first time, he really enjoyed the ‘Fondue’ experience ! We will be back!
My husband and I absolutely love this place! For the past few years we always go there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Valentine’s Day! Last Saturday we celebrated our 7 year wedding anniversary! The food was soooo delicious from beginning to end. Service, ambience, food and price is what makes us comeback every time! I highly recommend this place to everyone I know! 👍🏻😋
Great date night spot or for special events. I live about 45 minutes away and the drive is worth it! Always ask to sit in lovers lane too. It’s the best for a romantic night.
Loved the experience and atmosphere of this restaurant! I’ve only gone once before and it gets better every time I go!
Wonderful experience! The server was nice, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was amazing!
really amazing place to celebrate me and my boyfriend’s anniversary!!
Great place to go for date night. Fiance and I have been going here for 8 years and we are never let down. Love the private booths for the privacy and ambiance. Even we have newer servers they are always professional and attentive.
