The Melting Pot - Larkspur Ratings and Reviews
My and wife and I went to have a nice dinner. While the food and service were awesome, there was a table of (8) sitting nearby that were completely inappropriate in their language and voicterous behavior.
Management did nothing to top stop their over the top behavior, and actually allowed the behavior to get to such a level that other patrons departed before eating.
In short, as along as management keeps patrons from rude and unruly behavior, we will consider revisiting the restaurant.
I was very taken back by the fact that it was actually kind of dirty. The silverware was terrible, and a coffee cup came to the table so bad I left seriously nervous for my well-being. right from walking in it smelled bad. The food was very unremarkable. what a shame. Not worth going to. I hope they clean it up.
We celebrated my daughter's 18th here and all three generations had a wonderful experience. Our server was incredibly friendly and added to our fun. Great night - lasting memory. Just make sure you have plenty of time - the 4 course meal takes 3+ hours. Well worth it.
We have visited this Melting Pot many times, usually for our daughter's bday. We went this past time for her 21st Bday. Our server wasn't very confident. Perhaps she was new? She spilled a glass of red wine on one of our guests at one point. She and the manager were apologetic. He offered to pay for dry-cleaning, etc. But he wasn't as polished as we have experienced in the past. One other point, the buss-er came and noisily piled the finished plates plates on the table...Everything felt not as nice as in the past. Yet, the prices are still top notch...Wonder if they are having problems.
We’ve never been to The Melting Pot not have we had fondue before. I wanted to take my girlfriend out for a nice date night and this place was perfect! Our waiter Alex was very fun and informative. Made us laugh. He is excellent at his job. We will definitely be going back again and looking for him as our waiter!
Though the atmosphere of the place is kind of unique since it is built into like a brick building and the food is great. The service we experienced was a bit not to our expectations. This does not mean that it would be like this every time with every customer. We expectedd a server that would elaborate a bit on explaining the Process of what he was doing and serving at our table. We were over charged for things we did not order but the bright thing was that comunicating with the manager the day after to get a refund of the over charge was very smooth and succesful. Her comunication skills are great and she was very proffesional and promt to solve the problem. She provided a solution on retraining her employee and I think that is great.
The food was absolutely delicious! All of the employees were extremely friendly. The bacon cheddar cheese fondue was amazing and the strawberry salad was the best i have had. The blackberry sage lemonade was so yumny. The presentation was exquisite. The dessert fondue was my favorite. I had the cookies and creme fondue with milk chocolate. This was the best food experience I had ever had!! I cannot wait to go back!
We always go to the melting pot for our anniversary. Being that we have been to this location many times we know what to expect. Unfortunately the food was not as good as it has been in the past. And the green goddess dip was runny and not thick as usual. Plus our pot wouldn't heat up as it should have and the cheese never melted to what it should have. The server was great, but tye drink runner was slow and we waited for 20 minutes for a drink.
I celebrated a friends birthday and he had never been. I wasn't sure if he was going to be okay with cooking his own food but he had read that it was a fondue restaurant and was up for the challenge. Being that it was his birthday, I put in a last minute request through my existing Open Table reservation to have rose petals put on the table not really expecting them to see it. Well, they did and he was pleasantly surprised as well was I that they had fulfilled the request. We were tucked in the back sort of secluded which was nice. Our server was fabulous, however I cannot remember his name. They were very attentive and since this was my guests first time dining there they took the time to explain everything in detail.
I have been here several times in Larkspur and more recently in Greenville, SC and my experience with the staff is always stellar. I even like that you can eat fondue at the bar :).
Great service, usual menu. Only disappointment was I had booked for my daughter's birthday where we go every year for and they did not seem to have that info even though we had reconfirmed via phone. Waiter brought out generic birthday plate not the usual one which is personalized. I've attached a picture of the past. We didn't even take a picture of this year it was so pathetic it only had chocolate no pieces of cake, strawberries or even the candle.
The melting pot is a great fondue restaurant – beware when making reservations of their site through open table though. Call and confirm directly. Made our reservations more than a month ahead of time and when we got there ( after hiring a babysitter and making a long drive for our special dinner ) they had no record of our reservations even though I had gotten a confirmation from OpenTable the day before which I showed them. It was stressful and embarrassing, though we finally did get our table and enjoyed our meal.
I HAVe been here many times and I used to love this place. We had such a horrible experience. The food was good but the service was horrible. Our waitress would never check on us. We needed more bread and I needed to have a different person get it for us. My salad was lacking dressing and again I had to ask a busser to get some for us because she wouldn’t come by at all. After waiting forever after we were done with our food to get our check I had to go to th front to ask for it because again our waitress was nowhere to be found. We drive 45 to get here and I don’t think it’s wirth it anymore. I don’t know if we will be returning unfortunately.
The waiter messed up my drink twice and still charged me $10 for them which I thought was ridiculous. He kept taking our silverware which we needed for the other courses and also brought us the wrong cheese for our first course.
I didn't realize we had to cook our own food either, I thought the entrees would be prepared for us so having to cook our own meal was a bit odd and if I wanted to cook my own steak or chicken I could have at home.
Usually love going here but our waiter was lacking in service. He rarely came by to ask if we needed anything and in the couple times he did he took forever to bring back what we needed. Also food on average this time around. Cheese had too much beer base and our waiter brought out the brother not even half full. When it was time to cook the food in the broth, we couldn't place all our food forks in at once as the food would not be cooked. Disappointing experience the last 2 times we've gone, not sure if we will be back anytime soon.
