The Melting Pot - Larkspur
My wife and I have always had a great experience here for years. Recently went for her birthday and it still is a great place. This is the best Melting Pot location of them all.
Brought a friend to celebrate her 80th bd. It was her first time there. We both had a great time. As usual the food was yummy. We ordered one 4-course meal and shared. We did order a full cheese fondue course, but shared the salad, entree, and dessert. I also kept the apples from the cheese fondue to have with dessert fondue. This was more than enough food. The service was wonderful...couldn't ask for a friendlier or more efficient waitress. I'll be back
Celebrated my Birthday on Saturday, we come here for special occasions, and the food was excellent as always! Our waitress was GREAT but some of the other service was not quite as good...we took our time & lounged close to the end of service so I understand cleaning up but, it’s never ok to spray chemicals (even on neighboring tables) while patrons are still dining! Especially not when the A/C is blowing full blast and everything in the air is circulating around the entire room! (Vacuuming, either!) Also, we LOVE the architecture so we like to sit in the back room (in the “curve”) where you can see more of the exposed brick. I understand this is close to the kitchen and partially used as a service area (water pitchers, straws, etc.) but there’s no excuse for the cobwebs that are left hanging from the walls & ceilings in this area, that were actually blowing down from the vents and landing on our table and food!! Yuck! They accommodated every request happily which was nice but, some things should just go without saying in a restaurant (particularly one that is a bit on the pricy side) like the busboy who followed the waitresses around gossiping (and swearing) a little too loudly so that customers could over hear. I will return because the overall experience is so fun however, a little more attention to detail would be nice, even in the less popular dining areas, as long as customers are allowed there, those areas should be kept up as well as the main dining rooms & the service standards should remain consistent throughout the “front of the house”.
Lovely venue. Service was very good and staff was helpful, as it was our first time there.
We were pretty bummed out when we went to Melting Pot to celebrate my niece’s birthday. When I made the reservation, I put it was for a birthday and the next day, when they called to confirmed for the dinner, once again, Melting Pot mentioned the birthday and even asked for my niece’s name. When we got to finishing up with our dessert fondue, we were waiting for a birthday greeting or something, but got nothing. The waiter gave us our check and went on our merry way. It would of been nice for her to be recognized on her special day. Better luck next time, Melting Pot!
Outstanding. Our go to place for special ocationss. Great food, wonderful folks, the best service. Love it
We had a very new waiter and for the money we spent, we would expect attentiveness, knowledge and know how, as well as timely service. It was also very hot inside. There were a lot of groups of young adolescents. Some of whom showed massive displays of affection- very uncomfortable!
We had a great time. My favorite restaurant! We will come back again soon.
It’s been several
Months since we have been to the Melting Pot. We were warmly greeting by the manager and host staff. Service was good and our server made the best Alpine Fondue.
The prawns and filet mignon was fresh and great quality.
We enjoyed our dining experience from beginning to end!! Our server was awesome and made the night so much fun!! We can’t wait to come back!!!!
The food was delicious, just very expensive. Would definitely recommend it to someone!
Took my wife for Mother's Day it was a new experience for us we enjoyed ourselves immensely very clean restaurant our waiter was outstanding she was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions the experience was very personable the ambience was spectacular and the food was amazing will return many times in the future
The menu has changed over the years to encompass more than fondues and even the ways to sample them. The ambience is great and the service was excellent.
Food was awesome. Service was excellent. If only you could do something about the traffic or drive time from Santa Rosa. Overall an excellent experience.
Excellent service. Explained everything. We had a great time. Asked why we were coming ( Birthday) when brought dessert out had happy birthday message! Will definitely come back!
Fourth time coming here and I brought my parents this time. Everything was amazing like always.
Everything was good but our server kept disappearing and we had to call other waitresses to help us.
The prix fixe Mother’s Day menu was perfect. Plenty of good food. Good value.
Everything about this place is top notch. Took my wife for her 40th birthday and we still can't stop raving about it!
If you haven't been to a Melting Pot I would definitely go at least once with a few caveats. Be prepared to spend a lot of money, buy a bottle of wine (the meal is so long and slow you'll need it), and have fun with the fondue but don't expect culinary excellence (it is after all, really just steak cooked in oil or broth). This location is particularly pretty, it feels like you're in a cellar or cave. Unfortunately during our visit, our server disappeared for 30 minute intervals. We sat with our salad plates completely empty for about twenty minutes before anyone cleared the table and then waited about ten more minutes for our entrees. Once our entrees were done, we waited another 15 minutes for our dessert. Our server advised us to ask for any refills on dessert but she didn't come back for another 30 minutes so we didn't get anything (word of advice, ask for more poundcake straight away if given the chance!). The server mentioned numerous times that the kitchen was slow and lamented how busy she was, however the table across from us (a family of four) sat after us and left before us, it didn't seem like they had any trouble with their food coming out. All in all, we were glad to have gone but we won't be back.
Overall great experience for my first time and I definitely plan on coming back.
It wasn’t our first time there and we always seem to have a good experience!
Cheese fondue was good as was dessert. But all the entree foods were very mediocre. We had chicken, beef, salmon and veggies. It was fun for my granddaughter but for the adults, money would have been better spent elsewhere. It is very expensive for what you get. The atmosphere is nice , and love that despite being very crowded, it was so easy to hear each other talk. Been there once now don’t need to go back.
We love the Melting Pot. So many flavors in one meal.
We came all the way from Napa to have a fondue diner at The Melting Pot. In Fort Lauderdale we discovered The Melting Pot and were very lucky to find one in Californië also.
The food, the service and the ambiance were amazing.
We had a great time, food and service were excellent!
We celebrated our 32nd anniversary in your restaurant. It was to be a special evening for us, but felt a little robbed of our rare night out. The email we received FROM the melting pot for our complimentary strawberries wasn’t proof enough to receive them. I had to step out of the restaurant (as there is no cell service) to forward the email from the melting pot to another email address that was provided to me at our table. Getting service took a bit and by the time I got back to my dinner my husband was done with our first course and half way through his salad. At the end of the meal an employee (manager, hostess, I’m not sure who) came to the table to tell me I need to send an email for the strawberries they’d delivered to the table. I said I sent it, they said they didn’t get it. I showed them the email and was told that was the wrong email I’d been provided but that it was fine. I again had to step out for a bit in order to pull up our e gift card.
This was a mood killer for sure. Became more like a working meal. Our dinner table became more than just the two of us. Either honor what you’re offering or get rid of it.
If you aren’t willing to fix this, atleast put a wireless repeater in your establishment for the next diners on their special night.
We have been coming here for years for special occasions and just for other dates and were definitely taken back by our last visit. There was a weird smell when we walked in of mustiness, the service was really bad & off by a waiter that’s been there for years barely checking on us although he only had us & one other table of 9 the entire time, we didn’t get our usual anniversary dessert plate, the lovers lane area was closed again due to electrical, and it just didn’t feel like the melting pot we are used to.
Prom night for kids.
The five children with us LOVED the meal and the experience. I found the atmosphere on the dingy side. I hate when restaurants smell like carpet cleaner or cleaning supplies. The salad did not seem fresh, and the dressing seemed so bottled. The meats were fine. The experience of cooking ourselves was fun and our waiter was nice.
Good food and interesting cavernous layout... but the service was poor while the restaurant lacks the character you’d expect from a fondue place. Not fun, borderline depressing.
Good Fondue, but they push the entrées which we were not interested in. First Fondue for four people seemed less of an amount then the second fondue. Extremely expensive for what you get.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS!
Great place, excellent food and service. Enjoyed it very much.
Always great food and service, its really hard to be upset at anything when your eating fondue!
Went for two bday cebrations .. Julio the manager was so nice to accommodate our table request for party of 5 to quieter round booth. Our server was super nice .. while staff was helpful at various time when we requested stuff here and there.
Had a great time.. thank you to the whole staff
Some staff would call me and my friends “Frequent Flyers” absolutely adore the Melting Pot. But this was by far the worst experience we’ve had here.
Have to cut the server a little bit of slack because we were his first table by himself. He kept messing up in the beginning like not being able to turn on the burner but my friend was able too and came up to the table said hi and then just stood there in silence until we said were ready right away. He also disappeared for long periods of time and we had to ask other servers where ours was. He apologized at the salad portion and said he was new. Which we really appreciated but by that time were already more irritated then had he said it in the beginning.
In the end he was very friendly but couldn’t even lit the chocolate on fire. And never asked for help with anything which a manager should’ve been with him or at least checked in.
Disappointed in the service. But the food is great always. Definitely will be returning but will not hesitate to ask for another server.
The waiter was very sub par. He made it very clear that he didn’t want to be there. Never checked on us, never poured our wine. From the very beginning the waiter brought our wine glasses and did not pour the wine. After about 20 minutes of the bottle sitting there we poured our own. Not a great experience but the food was good.
I've been a few times before and had an excellent experience each time. So when I took my best friend for a belated birthday dinner, I knew what to expect in terms of food and service.
We had an 8:30 p.m. reservation. We were seated immediately but it took several minutes until a server came to our table to give us menus and take our drink order. A few minutes later, the server came by to let us know that he was leaving but that another server would be taking over. It took about 10 minutes for the new server to come by to take our drink order. As we enjoyed sipping our drinks, we mulled over the menu and decided on the 4-course meal. The food was excellent and the services was good from that point on. When we got our dessert, we both ordered coffee. Our server informed us that there was no coffee available since both the bar and the kitchen were already closed down for the night. Really disappointed since coffee with dessert should not be a problem. But what was worse is that, about that same time, various cleaning crew were vacuuming near our table and cleaning up everything for the night all around us. We felt insulted and rushed so we quickly finished up, paid the check, and left. Honestly, I was so embarrassed because I'd been telling my friend what a great, upscale restaurant this is and then all this happened. I'm so put off now that I will NEVER go back.
Service was alright we were left for long periods of time
Food was good
Overall I felt no celebration for my husband it was his birthday dinner they did bring a plate that said happy birthday but nothing significant?
