The Melting Pot - Knoxville Ratings and Reviews
I have ate at the Melting Pot several times and have had great experiences until now. We waited entirely too long for our waiter in between the courses of the meal and then FOREVER to get our check. Also celery looked brownish and old that they brought out for the first course. Kinda sad it wasn’t a great experience because it was expensive.
Great food as always. The 4 course meal with classic alpine cheese and MOJO cooking style was delicious. Smores chocolate was very good as well. Try their cooking timer app on their website. Just Google melting pot food timer. It was spot on for cooking the shrimp and lobster!
The food was great, and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was professional. efficient, and friendly. She knew the menu in detail and was able to recommend a wine that suited our tastes perfectly.
I have a severe allergy to gluten so dining out can be a risk, but our waitress did a great job of explaining my options and making sure we were served food safe for me. I experienced no symptoms of gluten reaction afterwards and would recommend it for people highly sensitive to gluten.
We've fallen in love with the Melting Pot -- both their Knoxville and Nashville locations! The food is always among the freshest and most delicious we've had in a long while, and the atmosphere is unique and particularly suited for a weekend night out for the couple.
Fondue at The Melting Pot is definitely a memorable experience and is great for special occasions. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate New Year's Eve. The service was great and we had a great time. The only negative we had, was that there was a set menu and the dessert course was smaller than usual.
Things have changed to save money - the dippers for the cheese have changed - no more broccoli or cauliflower - instead they give you celery and cherry tomatoes to dip in cheese (yuk!). And the carrots were chopped so tiny you could barely pick them up with the forks. The quality of the meat seemed much lower and they have taken dippers off the chocolate fondue. No more cheesecake (unless you pay extra), they added pretzels (which are a cost saving item I'm sure!) and only one marshmallow (instead of two - usually it's one covered in Oreos and one covered in graham crackers) - just seems like they are trying to cut corners on the food but haven't cut any corners on the prices. We have gone to Melting Pot for many, many years, but not sure we will go back.
The Melting Pot made my wife’s birthday memorable. We enjoyed the dining experience from the moment we walked in until we left. The food was absolutely wonderful and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere for a special occasion or just a night out.
It was so good that I left my debit card there! In all seriousness though, I know it was a busy night, (Christmas Eve) but the server was not very attentive. Other than that, as always, the food and atmosphere were phenomenal. The signed card by the whole staff was a nice touch for my girlfriend's birthday as well.
We always enjoy our time at The Melting Pot. It is never quick experience, so allow plenty of time before any events. We love the slower pace, the time to chat and the built in activity of the fondue. The food is amazing and the staff at the Knoxville location is so sweet and attentive. Highly recommend!
Diana met us at the door and took care of our needs for the Birthday girl. Matt was an exceptional waiter and tree attentive to the birthday girl since this was her first grown up type celebration (she turned 9).
The birthday card signed by the staff was the perfect touch.
Hannah was amazing! We have always loved coming to Melting Pot. The only negative Sat. night (11/18) was that there was a birthday party that included a lot of small children! They were very loud and the space was not conducive to the extra noise level. We were put in a small space that looked like it was converted from a storage room and was not insulated properly. The food was great, and our server was awesome! Thanks again to Hannah!
We visited the melting pot using a Groupon. We felt even at a Groupon price the food was not worth the cost. I was surprised it was needing more flavor and spice. Boiling in my meat and vegetables just wasn't appealing to me. At the end of the meal I had trouble using a Groupon because there was no Internet service. My waiter was very gracious and credited me with a groupon but not for the full amount that I paid. They also charged me for the broth that they cooked the meal in which I couldn't believe was not included. Overall it was a new and fun experience but probably won't go back
Four of us had dinner at the melting pot this evening. The meal was OK but nothing great. The waiter was excellent. If you like to cook your own food while at a restaurant you may enjoy this. I prefer to leave the cooking at home when I go out so this was not really my cup of tea.
Make sure you block out some time for dining as the two of us were seated immediately and spent two and a half hours enjoying the meal. Wait staff is very friendly and professional (ask for Aaron, he's great) and takes you on a fondue culinary journey. I have to eat gluten free for health reasons and the place is perfect for it. They even have gluten free bread for the cheese course. Highly recommend the California salad. The raspberry vinaigrette is worthy of drinking. Also, don't skip the chocolate. We had the Bourbon and Pecan Dark Chocolate and it was a great finisher. One more note: clear off some room on your credit card. The cubic dollar menu is not for the faint of heart.
