The Melting Pot - Kennesaw Ratings and Reviews
I feel like the waitress was fine, until I started asking for ways to make the food go-to. She was very nice to start, and then towards the end, it felt more rushed as if she didn't care to spend any time in case I had another question. We actually watched, as she went to interact, and i did have a question and she brushed by us just presenting the check. I am happy at how she was able to make the cheese and chocolate to go, she did meet many of our needs, but the last 4 altercations felt like "does she not feel like we are important or if we will tip 20%? Is that why she wont stay 5 seconds at the table?" We did, she was acceptionable. But, We probably won't come back for another year or 2, especially if I felt like after the salads, that our waitress wouldn't come back to us. She WAS nice. But but . It felt impersonal after the salad pick ups.
Dined with my daughter, son, and daughter-in-law. Had a wonderful waiter, Victor, who was attentive but not intrusive. Four courses: We chose cheddar cheese with bacon for our cheese course and it was delicious. Salads were good with choice of house or ranch dressing. We each chose our own entree proteins including shrimp, teriyaki steak, filet, herbed chicken, seasoned pork and lobster tail. We chose the coq a vin cooking pot which we definitely recommend. Entree also included mushrooms, broccoli, and potatoes to skewer. The "rescue spoon" came in handy on occasion. Be careful not to fill up on the cheese course so you have room for dessert. Several chocolate options for dipping marshmallows, pound cake, rice krispie treats, bananas, etc. We selected the chocolate/peanut butter pot and was not disappointed! The atmosphere was excellent for conversation. **Make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the experience. We were there for almost three hours but of course we had so much fun that it didn't feel like it was that long. Prices averaged about $50 per person. We will definitely be back.
Very time consuming, cooking time for chicken needs to be longer then suggested two minutes and menu 4 course experience needs to be worded different so it is easier to understand, cheese and dessert we're wonderful but the food for the amount we received was quite pricey! 100 dollars for a meal would need to have more food to it.
We love the Melting Pot. It was good but not awesome. I have to admit I was a little disappointed. This place is usually awesome, five star, but not this time. I can't quite put my finger on it but it has definitely slipped to 4 stars in my book. And. I'm being generous.
We come to this location about twice per year and usually the service and food are very good.
This night was a little disappointing compared to our other 8 or so visits.
The salad was wilted and our server was very good but had too many tables and could not care for our needs as they usually do.
Probably just a bad night or perhaps they were short staffed.
Our family enjoys the self cooking style and of course the cheese and chocolate fondue are always a must.
Had a great time on New Year's Eve! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was very good, too. The lighting in the restaurant was just a little too dark for my taste (Had to use my phone light to read the menu), but the overall experience was very good.
We were about 20 minutes early for our reservation and they seated us before our scheduled time. We only waited about 5 minutes. Food was excellent and the server did a good job of explaining the choices and the cooking procedures. The only issue was our booth was extremely dark and we had to use flashlight apps on our phones just to see the menu.
Fun place. Cheese fondue very good. Salad is OK, portion was small. Sure do miss their excellent mushroom salad. No idea why they dropped it off the menu. Main course, skip the oil, go with one of the water based broths. Beef, shrimp, lobster, and vegetables are best. Chicken is so-so, pass on buffalo chicken. Fish was disappointing. The chicken and fish may have been better with oil base.
Desert, go with the white chocolate amaretto, not sure why this is not on the menu either, as it is their best desert. Every group I have been with fights for the last drop of this.
My husband and I usually celebrate our anniversary here. They are so attentive to your needs and pleasant at all times. Our waitress made a plate that spelled out "happy anniversary" in chocolate and 2 chocolate covered strawberries. We had the "Big Night Out" which is a bit pricey, but the food was plentiful and delicious.
We went to the melting pot to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday. We made reservations a few weeks in advance at 6:30. We got there at 6:15 and were seated at 6:36. Once we were seated... it all began to go downhill. It took around 10 minutes to be greeted, then around 5 minutes later we were given our drinks, we asked for just a few minutes to order and he disappeared for 15 minutes. We all needed refills by the time he came back which we had to ask for and then we ordered our food. When we received our refills our drinks were incorrect and he completely forgot to refill my father in law’s drink, yet we were all drinking the same thing. About 45 minutes later we received our cheese, he brought it & left it sitting on the tray beside the table and went to the table next to us & began serving them. Once he finally came back to us He spilled several spoon fulls of the garlic onto our vegetables yet served them to us anyway. A manager visited our table and asked how everything was going, we explained it had been quite a slow experience so far, but had confidence things would be okay. We had finished our cheese before we saw our server again & was then told our salads would be coming soon. When they came our 2 Caesar salads were so over dressed and the lettuce was wilted that we couldn’t even eat them. My father in law had no dressing on his but was supposed to have ranch. My husband had to get up from the table and go find a manager to ask to have them remade. When he spoke to the manager he explained what had been going on and that we were out to celebrate a special occasion and this was really disappointing so far & that we had already been there for over an hour and hadn’t even started our main course. At hour 2 we received our main course. At hour 3 we received our dessert. The service was so bad that the manager had to begin serving our table along side our actual server, Andrew-whose attitude became very bad after he was informed we had spoken to a manager.
Made reservations online for a date night with my girlfriend. In the comments I told them I would be proposing that night. The waiter made us chocolate covered strawberries and hearts drawn on the plate in chocolate. Excellent customer service from all the staff at The Melting Pot. Now if only I could afford to go more than once a year, that would be special.
