About The Melting Pot - Houston
The Melting Pot Restaurant is where fun is cooked up fondue style. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, long overdue date night or celebrating with a group.
We are the premier fondue restaurant, centrally located on Westheimer, providing a casually elegant dining experience and an intimate atmosphere. The relaxing four-course experience begins with a cheese fondue prepared table side and fresh salads while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables in the cooking style of your choice. Each bite is hot, fresh and delicious and all entrées are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces. Chocolate fondue is the finale, served with decadent dippers. Most make reservations for the four-course dining experience but more than a few have stopped by to satisfy that cheese fondue or chocolate craving. The Melting Pot also features a great wine list, specialty cocktails and martinis.

The Melting Pot - Houston Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed! Took my daughter there for her 15th birthday paid extra for picture bear and card, which we were never offered the picture until I questioned the manager on the way out. We explained how it was our first time and needed some guidance on how things worked and the waiter just talked about his spicy favorites. We were never told about "cooking" our own main course until the broth pot was brought out. He kept running off and saying one second. Our reservation was for 5 pm and we literally did not get our cheese fondue until at least 6. For $45 a person it surely was not worth it.
Surprise birthday dinner for my Fiancee. Nice arrangement with the flower and candles, but kind of upset that when I was called to confirm my reservation I was told a card with my message would be put on the table. Get to the restaurant and no card with the message I asked for.. I mentioned it to the hostess who sat us down, and she mentioned it would be coming but it never did. Just kind of upset because I paid the extra $24.00 to have the table set up and was told I would get a card with whatever message I wanted on it. It was mine and my Fiancee first time. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Just upset with what I was told not only once on the phone but then again when I got there.
We have been wanting to go to The Melting Pot for some time now, and the experience of eating fondue style was the only thing I enjoyed. Our waiter was friendly and explained the process but for the 4 course meal expect to be there approximately 3 hours!! I don’t think the food is worth the $250 tab for 4. I also didn’t like that we are a family of 4 and could only pick 1 style or broth to cook our food. The best part of the 4 course meal was the dessert and the privacy at each booth. I would only recommend for the experience not for the food.
We arrived on time for our 4:45p reservation and spent at least 20 mins at the table waiting for our server. It then went downhill from there. Although the waiter was a great person, the efficiency of the service was lacking. Every time we had to ask for something, it would take at least 10 minutes to get that item. A few times I had to ask twice. We brought our 3.5 year old daughter who likes to eat anything and everything, she had no interest in cooking the hot food. She ate bread and chips. The portion of the food was small compared to the price of $45-$50 for about 3oz of meat, and we had to pay extra $6 for the broth to cook it in? That’s insane. We didn’t leave the restaurant until after 8:30p! Nearly 4 hours for dinner is too long
NOT handicap friendly. Presentation was a fabulous experience but our server was neglectful and untimely in our service. Took forever to get drinks, then even longer for cheese fondue, meat fondue and chocolate fondue. Reservation was on time. We were seated at 7pm but couldn't leave until 10:50 pm because of such deplorable poor/slow and unattenative service. All 5 of us had the full experience and tipped accordingly at 20% but regret the tip because it was not earned.
Our service was lacking as was the table “fit.” Our party had 5 people but one had no real place to eat. It was 2 tables for 2 that had been converted into a table for 5 or 6...So we had strange rails between seats and gaping holes in the arm rest. Thankfully we had one out with the flu or there would have been a much larger issue with spacing. We had to repeatedly ask for everything we needed...drink refills, wine list, silverware, plates...we ordered coffee and extras that arrived so late they were unnecessary. It was a $400 meal for 5 but we didn’t have $400 service.
The vegetarian options did not taste very good, but the meats were amazing! Bread course was wonderful. Strawberry caprese salad was the bestsalad I've ever had in my life. No exaggerating. Dessert was amazing as well. Highly recommend this to other people.
I will never return to the Melting Pot for Christmas Eve again. We have been to the Melting Pot on other occasions there was a set menu and had a much better experience. When you dine at the Melting Pot, you are paying for an experience. This Christmas Eve dinner was anything but that. We were either rushed or forgotten, didn't receive all of the correct food when we were supposed to, and overall we left feeling very disappointed. Especially, considering how much we paid for the meal.
Had a 5:30 pm reservation and were seated promptly with drink orders taken. Shortly thereafter one of the hostesses kept walking by our table every five minutes and it was unnerving. You felt as you were being hurried. Upon speaking with the manager, we were told this was normal and she was looking to see where everything was with the courses etc. No offer to slow her down or not be so obvious. Just not an acceptable answer. The food was very good and it was fairly quiet so it's a nice date night, but being "looked at" every five minutes is not enjoyable!
Great dining experience where you are not rushed in any way. Promptly seated at the time of our reservation. Relaxed comfortable atmosphere where a conversation can actually be had, as there was no loud music drowning one out. Food was portioned well and of excellent quality.
