The Melting Pot - Houston
We are the premier fondue restaurant, centrally located on Westheimer, providing a casually elegant dining experience and an intimate atmosphere. The relaxing four-course experience begins with a cheese fondue prepared table side and fresh salads while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables in the cooking style of your choice. Each bite is hot, fresh and delicious and all entrées are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces. Chocolate fondue is the finale, served with decadent dippers. Most make reservations for the four-course dining experience but more than a few have stopped by to satisfy that cheese fondue or chocolate craving. The Melting Pot also features a great wine list, specialty cocktails and martinis.

I ordered the four course diner with chicken and vegetable potstickers. After I cooked the food I found a label or tag on my potstickers. After that the manger did not do anything and the waitress took 15% off my bill. At the end of the meal I paid and tipped over 25%. The next day I checked my account and was charged an extra $40. I called the restaurant and was told the waitress changed her tip amount on my check to $40 more than I originally wrote. They told me I would be refunded but have yet to see this money. I will never eat at another melting pot restaurant and will continue to give bad reviews on my food blog!!!
Love the cheese & chocolate fondue.
I dream about the food and it was only my second time! Will be bringing my family next time. Always a 10/10
Great food!! Great waitress!! Great experience!!
Horrible experience! It took 50 minutes for our first item to come out...and a 30-40 delay for each of the following items..they must have booked more reservations than they could handle...on top of that, my husband had an allergic reaction to something there and had to leave out without eating anything after the first appetizer....never again...wayyyyyy overpriced for the experience
My only problem with the visit is that having only 2 fondue pots for 7 people was not enough! Making 7 people choose only 2 flavors of each course is not inclusive enough for that size of a party. 3 fondue pots would've been perfect. We chose to have one pot with both and one grill and there was not enough room in either for the amount of meat we had to cook for 7 people. It was disappointing for the amount of money each person paid.
Good fun fun experience getting to cook your own food
Very nice cxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It’s a shame I’ve LOVED the melting pot for so many years but my last visit on mother’s day was less than pleasant. The server was so rushed he hardly could get the drinks from the bar to us. The worst part about that is our last drink was ordered before desert and brought to us after when we asked for the bill. The drink was not what we ordered the bartender left it at the table and told us that he would take it off of our bill. They didn’t though. Once the server had my card he ran it for the drink on a separate ticket. Might I mention 25% tip was the amount that was added to both tickets. But wait there’s more. They did something wrong when our desert pot came to the table so we left smelling like a campfire because our booth was smoking for quite a while before anyone noticed. The server grabbed our pot said he was going to get us a new set up but then brought back the same pot of banana foster. My partners water was empty all night. The whole experience was worth less than $200.00 for a night out for 3 that’s all I’m saying. Staff better on holidays so your staff can focus on doing a better job or hire team members that have better time management.
Great service and food as always!!! Will definitely be back!!!
The service was excellent. The food was amazing and the amount of steak on the steak lovers was huge!!!
The saving grace in my 3 hour mother’s day experience was the server.
It was the PERFECT Mother’s Day celebration. Great food & conversation with lots of fun and laughter.
I love this place. It is such a wonderful experience for special occasion dinners.
Waitress was rude and slow, price is ridiculous for average food best.
Tim - We would enjoy the opportunity to discuss the details of your experience and our team will reach out to you. Your description is far outside the normal operating character of our team. We work hard and are committed to providing and exceptional experience to our guests along with high quality wholesome foods.
A great experience for a special occasion (actually do not need an occasion :-). The 4 course “classic” was very good with portion sizes being quite reasonable; but due to the number of courses the meal was quite filling so please arrive there hungry. They also have a reasonably priced kids menu. The one difficulty we had was in choosing the type of cheese, chocolate & cooking style. Each table has to choose one type of the “sauce” that is in the cooking pot for 3 of the 4 courses. The entrees can be different and the salads (which were also quite good) could be different. Overall a nice ambience, friendly wait staff and great food.
Zeep - Thank you for the rave review and recommendations for other guests. We hope you will Fondue with us again soon.
My 1st experience there with my family was awesome, however, I would like to suggest TWO burners per table, therefore, other people too can have the choice of cooking their own food with their choice of sauce/broth, rather than unanimously deciding on only ONE cooking sauce/broth method. Other than that, I will give it another try. In my opinion, the food is pricey for what you actually get as well.
I loved the food here and the experience of cooking your own food was something different to try. It was a lot of fun and our waiter Noel made it so much better! He was so funny and had the best attitude. We will definitely be back!
GiNAW - What a nice review. You nailed what we are all about. High quality, unique and fun dining. We appreciate your taking the time to share it. We look forward to you next visit.
Our waitress was not very good. She messed up our drink order, salad order and couldn't explain the menu very well to us as it was our first time. It was very pricey and the food really isn't that great. It's all about the experience of fodue--- thats all you pay for.
Bar area has doors/windows that allow cigarette smoke from outside smoking area to come in to seating area. Cigar bar nearby.
Food was great as always and service had a few hiccups this time around but it will not stop us from returning for another visit.
As always, the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend the 4 course experience as it provides everything you could possibly want and some.
It was a nice anniversary dinner for the most part, although it was just annoying having a large, loud, obnoxious family with young teenagers seated next to us. They were kind of the worst and definitely ruined the romantic atmosphere we had at the beginning of our dinner.
I went to Melting Pot to celebrate my anniversary. Going here was the best ending to our wonderful day. I made an reservation for 730, and I got the romantic touch option they had. When we arrived our table was set up the way it was describe when making the reservation. Our waiter was the absolute best!!! Ezra was very attentive, informative and most importantly BEYOND friendly! He took a picture of us at our beautifully decorated table. And everything he recommended to us was actually good. He knows his stuff!! I have been to this establishment before in other areas around the US and this is by far my most pleasant experience eating here. Ezra has us laughing and keep the drinks coming right on time! We had a blast!! Thank you Ezra ‼️
Great food and excellent service
One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. Went there to celebrate my anniversary. Great food! This time I feel they skimped us on the chocolate though since we only ate a few pieces of our destination and all the chocolate was gone.
From the moment we walked in it was very inviting and a romantic feel , we got seated at our table and was served immediately. The loaded baked potato cheese fondue was amazing! the teriyaki beef was the best, and the Turtle caramel chocolate was absolutely to die for! I will definitely come back it was the best experience ever . It was my husbands and I first time going we will definitely be going back!
This place was recommended by a coworker and I must say it was an absolutely amazing experience! Israel (not certain of spelling) was our wonderful host and he took excellent care of us! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Somewhat pricey but definitely worth it!
Perfect for a fun place to go and to celebrate.
Seated in high traffic area with servers coming by and running hand over table, constant traffic to and from bathroom, reaching over us to clear table when we were trying to stand up to leave. After you rushed us to leave, we had to wait to leave for you to get done teaching over us to clear table. We felt very rushed. So glad we didn’t come here to celebrate a special occasion because that would have been a big disappointment.
I have been several times to the Melting Pot. It is always a wonderful experience - both dining and atmosphere.
My only issue is it is a tad too expensive .
Absolutely!! The staff and food was amazing. This was the first visit for my mother and she loved it.
Angelas - Thank you for your enthusiastic review. So happy the staff was able to work you in for an "Amazing Experience"
Having been here many times, I was excited to finally try their brunch.
I made reservations, which turned out to be Easter Sunday. There was absolutely no notification about brunch not being served on this day so I made the reservation at 12:45 to enjoy Easter brunch with my significant other.
We came in and were seated promptly and were greeted by our waiter who took our drink order. We inquired about the brunch menu as we were given regular menus and he told us he would retrieve one for us. When he came back he informed me that they were not doing the brunch due to the holiday. I expressed how disappointed I was as I was not made aware brunch would not be served today, considering I made reservations directly through the Melting Pot Website.
He came back, after talking with his manager, and told me the kitchen would do their best to serve us brunch. And this is where the meal started to go downhill.
The waiter seemed very unsatisfied that he would have to serve us brunch and never offered refills on any of our drinks and the time between courses was a lot longer than I have experienced. He told us on two different occasions he had the chocolate order already submitted to the kitchen, but time had passed and we honestly thought he had forgotten about us and our dessert.
I was very disappointed with the whole experience and the waiter especially considering he was being very friendly and attentive to the table next to us.
I have been here many times in the past and I can assure you that I will not be returning for brunch and if we get that waiter again I will be asking for a replacement as I did not appreciate how he served us.
We regret that we did not inform this guest of the special offer ($5 off ) four course menu we had for Easter. Unfortunately though we tried to go above and beyond we apparently did not execute at the high standard we have set for ourselves and this guest. We have contacted her to learn more about the experience. We appreciate the opportunity learn from feedback and improve.
The service was great. I did see that 2 to 3 trays got dropped not far from us during the night. It was much better than our former Baton Rouge location. Restaurant was very clean and the whole wait staff helped each other so that was very nice.I do find it a tad bit expensive as it was 140ish after tip with no alcoholic beverages and drinking water.
Our dining experience at the Melting Pot was a series of unfortunate events. Our cheese fondue was not good. Our server got water in our oil which made it bubble like a volcano, splattering everywhere and burning our meat. Another server and then a manager noticed and came over to assist with our oil. They switched out the pot and added some fresh oil which did help. Our server also seemed very busy and overwhelmed. She stated three times that she hadn’t forgotten us.
Best parts of the meal were our salads and the chocolate fondue, which was amazing!
For the price we would not go there again for a full meal. Would go again for dessert.
Our waiter was so soft spoken that it was hard to hear him. He also didn’t know the chocolate we asked for, and instead of telling us that, he just brought us something else. (And then laughed when we said we wanted more chocolate) The cheese we ordered had way too much wine in it. However, the mock tails were very good. I wish it wasn’t so expensive to dine at the melting pot, I might do it more often.
Absolutely wonderful! The food and service were amazing.
As soon as the waitress found out we were just in for dessert, service went down from there. Not sure why I still tipped 20%
Great service and lovely environment! We went for our 6th wedding anniversary and we can’t stop raving about it. We chose the lovers lane package and we were not disappointed! Highly suggest that package for an amazing experience!
Great place for a special celebration. The food was delicious. The service from Christina E. was excellent. And the company was to die for!
