The Melting Pot - Houston
We are the premier fondue restaurant, centrally located on Westheimer, providing a casually elegant dining experience and an intimate atmosphere. The relaxing four-course experience begins with a cheese fondue prepared table side and fresh salads while your entrée pot heats up. You’ll simmer a variety of meats, seafood and vegetables in the cooking style of your choice. Each bite is hot, fresh and delicious and all entrées are accompanied by an array of dipping sauces. Chocolate fondue is the finale, served with decadent dippers. Most make reservations for the four-course dining experience but more than a few have stopped by to satisfy that cheese fondue or chocolate craving. The Melting Pot also features a great wine list, specialty cocktails and martinis.

Great restaurant, wait staff amazing
We went out to the Melting Pot to celebrate our Anniversary. We ordered based off of waiter recommendations but were quickly disappointed with the presentation and taste of the products. Our waiter did not explain what any of the dipping items were or how long to leave them on. I had also been explicit while making the reservation that it was for our anniversary and the host did congratulate us, but the waiter said nothing. We also knew that the Melting pot was expensive but when the bill came - my face actually flushed. We will pay for a nice full dinner, just was very upset to have to pay $170 for two people for a lackluster celebration. Felt like we could make it at home 10x better and 10x cheaper.
Over priced. Super sub par food. Really low quality.
Went here for my birthday and I had a good time! This was our third time eating here and it was exceptional. We definitely will be back!
Really good. Quite. Always leave happiest than we came. Food is fantastic
As always, perfect place for a group date night! Delicious food and great service!
Melting pot has become one of the places I visit for a much needed date night. Love the experience and the food.
We had a very pleasant anniversary dinner at The Melting Pot. Good, tasty food options and especially pleasant and helpful service (thank you, Shaun!). And it's a great location for a dinner table conversation — the time spent cooking/dipping one's food item by item lends itself naturally to discussion opportunities, as well as appreciating each of those bites as you consume them. In these pandemic times, eating out has become far less common, something my wife has not been comfortable doing much. But when asked whether/where she might want to dine out for our anniversary, she immediately said The Melting Pot — and we had a very nice, enjoyable time there.
My son was celebrating his 10th birthday and he requested his favorite restaurant. The Melting Pot did not disappoint. Their COVID-19 protocols were second to none, and our waiter was top notch. They made his birthday a special day. We can’t wait to return.
Overall restaurant decor was boring and dull. Plus, we didn’t like the fact that we had to cook our own food, but then again this was our first time to this place. I don’t think we’ll be back.
The food that you cook yourself is good. But it is worth going one time. Everything is average.
The service is really really good.
The food is always excellent. Since people starting bringing small children, it's not as quiet as it used to be. The waitstaff is usually very good.
Went with friends for my birthday. Great ambiance. Lots of privacy. Great social distancing. Wish we had more burners per table. The spelling was awesome
Great service- fun night!
Food was good. Cooked it myself. Service could have been a little better.
We come every year for my daughters birthday since she was 15. This week we celebrated 26th. Was a great time as usual. Our server Will was very attentive. A little slow start but made up for it.
outstanding service-- Yay Jordan!!!, good social distancing, one of my favorites but even more so for value during Houston Restaurant Weeks
Excellent as always!
Sucks. Of all my years eating out. By far the worst place I've been to. Wanna recreate it for 1/10 the price? Get some water throw some wine and boil your meat.
Lipstick was found on my beverage glass from a previous patron during the Covid crisis, our server rushed our meal until I spoke with the manager, and the manager was pretty undisturbed by the whole ordeal. As a longtime patron of this chain I was very disappointed.
Not worth the price. Approximately $50 per person for very small portions of food. I could have spent the same amount of money at Fogo de Chao and gotten 2-3 times the food for the same price. Small pieces of bread and veggies, hard to spear with fondue forks.
My coworker and I had an early dinner during HRW here on a Friday. It was a great time. The food and service was great. The server and her assistant came around every so often, but not too much to feel bombarded. They seemed to be monitoring from afar because when we were ready for our next course, they were ready for us. It is not a quick bite to eat, it is an experience. I'm going back for drinks today! Their drinks!!! sooooooooooooo yummmmmmmmy!!!
Me encanto para nuestro aniversario
Lovely as always! We were celebrating a friend who has recently graduated nursing school so it was the perfect celebration.
Birthday was great
It was great!
Restaurant week menu is fantastic. Meat and seafood was superb. Ask for Ashley as she is the best server. She has been there a while and knows everything. Thank you for a wonderful evening for a happy family of 5.
We took advantage of Houston Restaurants Weeks to try out this place (we'd both been wanting to go). Cleanliness was absolute - everyone was masked and we were requested to sanitize our hands at the touchless dispenser upon entry. We were seated in a far back corner where there was only one other booth next to us, and a plexiglass partition was added to the top of the booth for additional safety.
Service was very good, though very timed/programmed. It was obvious that they turn the tables on a clock, and our server managed that very well without being intrusive or giving us a rushed feeling.
Food was excellent. We had the loaded baked potato cheddar first course, which was excellent. I didn't realize green apples and cheese worked so well together. The house salad second course was very good, but it's a salad - we actually just tasted it and put aside to save room for the other courses. We both got the "on the ranch" entree, which was also exceptionally good, as were the accompanying sauces. Our favorites were the pork and teriyaki sirloin. Finally, dessert was served. My girlfriend is a massive s'mores fanatic, and the choice was obvious - we got the s'mores dessert, which was out of this world.
If anything, it was too much food for us. When we return, we'll likely do a cheese course and a dessert course, maybe a single entree course, but 4 courses is just too much food for us these days. However, it was excellent and we plan to return.
I almost forgot - I discovered my new drink there - Whiskey Business. It's sweet, but it's loaded with several of my favorite whiskeys, lemonade and I don't recall what else.
It was nice, quiet, and private. The noise level was barely there, the atmosphere was really great, and the service was pretty awesome. Definitely would recommend going and enjoying the cheese and chocolate :)
Had a great time
I had a good time and would be back for dessert & drinks for sure!
The booth was a little uncomfortable and it was pretty hot in there. The steam from the pot went straight into my face the whole time. The meat was good but not great.
The experience was fun though, and I’d definitely go back.
Great that they opened back up, they are safe and clean. After this lock down to be able to have a nice meal at this (although gimmicky) nice place was a great change.
A great place for a special occasion! We’ll definitely return in the future.
We have been going to The Melting Pot for years but we will not be going back. They did not seat us socially distanced. Two other tables were with in 3 ft of us. The quality of the food was not great. Never again.
Thank you for dining with us. We are concerned about stopping the spread of COVID-19, and installed partitions between our booths in accordance with the open.texas.gov checklist for restaurants. It states: "A booth may be next to another booth as long as a partition is constructed between the booths, and that partition is at least 6 feet tall above ground level". We also blocked seating at tables in areas where partitions were not possible. If you feel we've missed an area please let us know.
Great, wish the hot plate was bigger
The experience was amazing like never before.. the food and service was amazing..
Very fun, got the four course meal! went with my boyfriend just because, would recommend going again!
Excellent. Really enjoyed the entire dinner.
