We have gone here in the past and loved it. This was our first time back since the Covid situation began. It was just blah. The menu changed. Less for the expensive cost. The food was okay. Service was okay, nothing like before. Noise level was barely anything as nobody was around. It was way too dark in our section too-will request not to be near the bar section. We will try again, hopefully it was just a fluke.
The Dinner for Two is a great option to indulge. Very private table and setting due to social distancing. So much food for what you pay.

My friend and I have celebrated our birthdays at Melting Pot for the last seven years. We had to delay it this year because of COVID-19, but it was well worth the wait! The food is phenomenal! I could hardly wait for each of the four courses, but the best was the flaming turtle dessert! It's SO yummy!! We will be back again next year!

Took my neice, her first time at melting pot. Food was good. Server was not attentive to refilling water or bringing beverages from the bar very timely (we could see the bar from the table). The neice loved it, chocolate course was her favorite. No surprise!

Was excited about going here! Great reviews from a friend. However we were pretty disappointed. We were there on a Friday nite and it wasn’t very busy. Had to wait forever for drinks. Got so bad hubby ordered 2 beers cuz it was at least 15 minutes before they brought them. Food was ok. Cheese dip was the best! The meat was very disappointing to us. However that being said our friends enjoyed theirs! Desert tasted like melted frosting, not chocolate. The worst was our assistant waitress that was learning the job. Her nails were at least an inch long! There is no way she should be serving food with those germ carriers!! Won’t go back and won’t recommend.

Husband and I had a very enjoyable evening here. The food was fantastic and our server was incredible about explaining the menu and the options. Love that you get all the house sauces instead of only choosing one or two.

The 4 course meal is about a 2 and half hour dinner. It is also an extreme amount of food. I would recommend just getting a cheese and/or chocolate and calling it a day.

My wife and I took our two oldest daughters on their first valentines date with us (7 and 5 years old) for a mid afternoon dinner. Our first course, mushroom bisque, was served cold. After we sent it back it returned to our table cold a second time. It finally came back hot after three attempts. Second course was salad. It was served without all of the toppings on it so they brought out the rest on the side. My wife then ordered a mai Thai. She couldn’t handle more than one sip because of how sweet it was so she sent it back and didn’t want anything else. When we told the manager she mentioned she’d take care of the mai Thai which as mentioned my wife didn’t drink anyway. Our bill was $275 and one of the biggest wastes of money that we have had at a restaurant. We will not return.

We waited almost 40 minutes for a table, even with a reservation. Once seated, service was friendly, but somewhat slow. Our server made the cheese fondue and told us to enjoy it, and I had to point out we still had no silverware or fondue forks yet! However, the food was very fresh and tasty.

We went with our family for our daughter’s birthday. Food was great and service was amazing! Be prepared for an experience. We were there for 3 hours, which I enjoyed a lot. Some people in our group got tired though. Overall I would recommend going maybe for a date night but maybe not a big group.

We’ve been to Melting Pot restaurants everywhere we have lived - in Orlando (the very first), the San Francisco Bay area, and in Grand Rapids. Since moving here six years ago we have been to this location probably 10 to 12 times, and our family experience is that it has gotten worse to the point where our last time was an almost 3 hour evening of slow service and poor quality, especially the filet and sausage. My daughters said “I think I’m done with Melting Pot”. This makes me sad, because it’s a place of many family memories. That said, our waitress this last time was good, and I think she was suffering under a situation where they were under-staffed and had two new cooks. I’d be curious if management has changed in the last six years, or if others share our observations.

The ventilation in this place was horrendous. We walked out smelling like we got bbq. For a place that cooks food in front of you, we expected better air quality too! We won’t be returning unless they open a patio!

Because most all of our entrees are cooked by you right at your own table, the savory smells are not contained to the kitchen as in most restaurants. We do have a patio, however set-up & seating depend on our fickle Michigan weather. Hopefully we'll see you back this summer for some cheese & chocolate fondue!
Took 45 minutes to get our first drink. Each course took about one hour to complete. The service was very very slow. Our reservation was at 6:15. We left the restaurant at 9:50 PM. Not a great Dane experience will not be dining there again
Food is always great! We took our kids for the first time. Service was ok. Our server would drop the food off and never come back. We had to flag down other people so we could get water and wine refilled after sitting for 15min with empty glasses. We would go back because the food is so good but order 2 drinks at one time.
We have dined at The Melting Pot every year for an adult family Christmas party since it opened in Grand Rapids. This year, the service, atmosphere, and quality of the dining were horrendous for our group of 8. When the cheese was served, we only received 2 small boards of bread, veggies, apples - a typical amount served to a party of 4. It took 10-15 minutes to get additional foods to dip in the cheese, at which point the cheese was rather burned. Drinks were not prepared well and drink service was slower than normal. I will acknowledge that it's always slow to get a drink from the bar but an order of 2 bottles of wine took about 20 minutes. Then, though we had requested 8 glasses for the wine when we ordered, only 6 were brought to the table. It took another 5-8 minutes for 2 more glasses to be brought over. At this point, we were more than half done with our entrees. The entree service was the same as the cheese, only 2 small bowls of veggies were brought to the table, enough for a party of 4. We immediately requested more veggies and more of the sauces to accompany the entrees. It took at least 10 minutes for the sauce and veggies to be brought to the table. Waters were not refilled, nor were non-alcoholic beverages like sodas. The chocolate order was rushed while we were still enjoying our entrees and waiting on sides. Drinks from the bar were routinely made improperly, cold drinks served in HOT glasses, and substitutions made for liquor preferences without checking with the customer first. Empty dishes and glassware, which we piled at the end of the table to make it easy on bussers, were not cleared from the table until we asked. The whole evening was rather unpleasant , which is unfortunate given that I estimate our bill was at least $700. I believe this will be our last family Christmas at The Melting Pot. For that sum of money, there are too many truly fine dining establishments in the Grand Rapids area that will provide a merrier experience for our family.
