Overall a great experience! My husband and I had never been to a melting pot restaurant before. The server was very helpful with suggestions on what to order and what different options were. It was a little pricey but the food was good!
I knew the restaurant was a bit pricey, but the end total with the amount of food we received completely shocked me. The value and quality were worth only about a 1/4 to 1/3 what I paid. Our waiter was nice. The way the ordering was explained to us, we did think the mini salad was included with the entree. It was not, and it wasn’t worth it at all. A complete let down. My daughter’s and I had some much fun laughing at ourselves that we totally got “taken” and will likely not go back to any Melting Pots.
We had a reservation for my Mother's birthday. We were promptly seated, then waited 10 minutes and not one person from the staff acknowledged us. We went up and spoke to the manager and asked if we could get some waters for the table. She said somebody would be right over. We waited another 10 minutes and still weren’t acknowledged. A table across from us got up and left and said they hadn’t seen they’re server either. We got up and left after over 20 minutes of not having anybody even come to our table. So beyond disappointed. I’ve been to other locations and we were so looking forward to a special dinner here. Would never go back to this location.
The night we went, the restaurant was very short staffed and for that reason the service was really bad.
Our experience was great, the waitress was fun and very pleasant
Very nice atmosphere and overall great food. I love the idea of the fondue but I didn't care much for having to fix my own food. Very expensive for having to do so. I'd rather cook at home if I was going to have to pay that much to fix my own food.
Love the melting pot. It is something Every one should try at least once.
We loved the atmosphere here, our waitress was spectacular (as well as the all the other staff we interacted with). It was clean, intimate, fun, and oh so tasty! We went for girls night, cocktails and sweets & had the best time. I’m 2 for 2 with this place and absolutely will be back when I’m in the area!
Good was great. However they didn’t offer extra dipping items for the chocolate dipping. We were seated at a table near the entrance and it didn’t have the ambiance that other booths had.
We had the 4-course dinner, it was amazing. We got a ton of food and our waiter was very tentative. My favorites are the cheeses and chocolates. We’ve never been disappointed!
A little pricey for my wife and i’s liking, but a great experience and very good tasting food. Don’t need to go back a second time.
We waited almost 20 minutes for service. The restaurant was almost empty and yet we still waited entirely too long for service between courses. The value for what you receive is horrible as you’re basically paying for the experience.
Cheese & chocolate fondue were very good. We chose the “bourguignon” style for cooking our entree. It was not good. The “tempura” batter was not tempura and the oil was not seasoned in any way and didn’t get hit enough to keep things from tasting oily. Very disappointing. Meat flavor was very good, but I’d never choose to cook that way at this place again.
Great service, food was good just too damn dark in there honestly. Wife and I had to use our cell phone flashlights to make sure our food was cooked properly (we did table top grille as our cooking style). Server was polite and plesent to speak with.
Food was good but our server Jennifer was less than pleasant.
Our server was amazing
This was our second time to the Melting Pot. My hubby and I enjoyed the one in Charlotte NC more for some reason. This time we shared a 4 course dinner, since we were still full from lunch. But it still turned out to be filling and cheaper on the purse strings. I guess I can't complain too much about the food since I cooked it! However my husband said his steak was tough and my sushi grade tuna was put right next to a raw meat on the plate so I had to cook it (see picture). Waitress was a little frustrated with us, seeing as I had forgotten the process of how to order. It was our Anniversary but we were not given anything special. I guess that sums up our evening here, nothing special...
The bartender was great. Our waiter had such an accent and spoke so fast I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. She seemed like she was in a hurry and really didn't take the time to be a good waitress. The cheese fondue was great and the dessert was great but the meats could have been better.
Food was great. Staff wasn’t friendly. It was a bit overpriced.
Well, Our table was too small for the occasion, an anniversary dinner and we were both dressed formal. Table was too crowded, it was hot, cooking at the table, nowhere to hang my sport coat. We thought the food was good , but was not worth what we paid, plus we had to grill it ourselves. My idea of an anniversary dinner is someone else doing the cooking and me & my wife just enjoying each other,s company. Also I told the waiter that we wanted one desert, he brought enough for two and charged us for two. I felt like he tried to take advantage of us and did, So we will not be eating at the Melting Pot unless these circumstances change. Thank You.
Dinner was good but is expensive for what you get. We chose to cook using the cast iron skillet, think the hot oil would have been a better choice
Waited 20 min after being seated before a server greeted us. Asked for the Gatlinburg local special, which chooses all 4 courses, yet was asked over and over what we wanted. Seemed like the server was not listening to us at all. Asked for no shrimp because neither of us like seafood, received the shrimp.
Food was 'ok' at best. I had the 4-course Classic Entree with the Cast Iron Grill style. I cooked the Angus Beef Sirloin and the Teriyaki-Marinated Sirloin medium rare, it was very tough and chewy, not at all what I would expect from what should have been a quality cuts of beef. The chicken was 'ok' but with the low lighting was never completely confident the meat was fully-cooked.
The staff was pleasant and courteous, although our waiter did not seem to sure of himself and forgot to include the mushrooms and scallions when mixing the cheese fondue, they were on the platter when he began mixing but left the table with them. He did returned later to add these two ingredients after he realized he omitted them.
I had the Bee's Tea for my non-alcoholic dinner drink. We were almost completely finished with the Cheese fondue before I was ever served the beverage. $4.95 seems a bit steep for a orange juice, honey, and sweet tea drink mix, I was also surprised when we payed our bill that we were charged additional $4.95 for the each of the two refills, nearly $15 just for my drinks. It was 'ok' but certainly not worth the price. I guess I should have stuck with plain ice-water!
Overall, I would say the California salad was the highlight our our meal, it was very good, but at the high price of over a $100 dinner for two this makes it a very expensive salad.
Outstanding meal and service by Alena as we have come to expect from every visit.
We love the melting pot in gatlinburg. Its always clean and quiet.
We had heard mixed reviews mainly about the entree part where you cook your own food. My husband and I agree we will be going back to this restaurant! The food was amazing, along with the service!
Birthday dinner. It was nice but we were looking for romantic and were surrounded by families w small children. There were plenty of open romantic booths in the back. And plenty of semi booths also.
1st time being at the Gatlinburg restaurant. Usually go to Knoxville. The table was so small. I had put in the reservation notes that we were celebrating our Anniversary. Knoxville always does a personalized card for us. There was no card or any recognition of our anniversary. The table next to us received a Happy anniversary dessert plate that had written Happy Anniversary but we receive nothing. There were plenty of other tables that were open that had more room but the table we sat at felt like a small corner cubicle. Our waitress was very nice and did a good job. The food was excellent. We just didn’t like the atmosphere of where we sat and being overlooked on our special occasion. Would definitely go to the Knoxville restaurant from now on.
Fun atmosphere. Portions plentiful.
We’ve been to The Melting pot in Gatlinburg several times. This time was different. We waited 30 min. For our waiter. When we finally had had enough the manager came over herself and apologized b/c she was the one who sat us and had forgot to tell our waiter we were waiting. It almost killed the experience.
We had the best time to celebrate my birthday!! I just wish they would have sat us at a table with two burners. It would have made cooking our meets cook quicker! Other than that we had a lovely time! The cheese fondue was awesome!!!
We have not eaten at a Melting Pot in quite some time because the one in our city closed a few years ago. We decided to go to the one in Gatlinburg while on vacation with our kids. The food was the same Melting Pot standard, however, our service was pitiful. My husband and I both ordered cocktails, and when they were empty, no one ever came by to ask us if we wanted another. I asked for a refill of my water that never came. This is because our server only ever stopped at our table to Ben f us a new course or the bill. It was pathetic, and not something I would expect from the Melting Pot.
Our meal was excellent along with the environment. Our waitress left a little to be desired. I don’t feel 20 minutes is an okay wait time for a water refill. Overall it was a good experience.
We had a great dinner for my husband’s birthday. Great service and amazing food! Worth the money spent.
I made reservations at 645 for my husband and I. We seated about 10 mins after our reservation which wasn’t bad. It only went downhill after being sat at this corner where all the waitresses and customers walk down to get to the kitchen and restroom so it got loud and there was constant traffic. Not very nice when your trying to enjoy another persons company. We also heard some pretty foul language from the staff and from the kitchen. I mean I’m no saint but again, just kind of killed the romantic mood I was trying to set for my husband and I. The food was delicious and our waitress was very nice and prompt.
Our waiter was super awesome and attentive. He was very sweet and funny and knowledgeable. The food was awesome and spaced out perfectly. I loved our table location.
Our waitress clearly was not trained. We have been to Melting Pot numerous times at other locations so we know what to expect. This waitress scratched her face over our food and took too long to bring our food and she told us she had been on break. She forgot what bottle of wine we ordered. She could not remember our cooking style either. She brought out turtle chocolate when we ordered smores. It was almost comical as she constantly apologized over and over. We still tipped her 20%. We felt that she was not properly trained. When people are paying that much for a four course meal, expectations should be much higher. We were very disappointed.
Perfect date night. Definitely a different experience. I was surprised that we had to cook our own food. But it was easy and actually fun. We will for sure go back when our children visit.
We made it easy for our new server since we have been to 25 or so other melting pots.
Nicole, the bartender, was by far, the best bartender we have ever had the pleasure of meeting
She was extremely attentive, funny, and seemed to enjoy our company as much as we enjoyed hers without being fake or making seem like she wanted a larger tip
Most definitely an asset to the company
