We have missed our celebrations at The Melting Pot in Gatlinburg during this pandemic. It’s been well over a year since our last visit. A thrill to spend time with our server/bartender Alena. Can’t wait until our next visit!
Great service from our server Noah. Everything else was okay!
We love the melting pot but the restaurant was woefully understaffed. Our server was wonderful and doing her beat but they clearly needed more help. Food was delicious as always.
We’re a big fan of Melting Pot and have been to many , this location was by far the worst ... we waited 30 min in between our courses and never even got a refill ... we would have left if it weren’t for the child that was hungry with us
Service was excellent. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was nice. Overall a great total experience. A little pricey for a family meal, but would make a perfect night out for a couple.
My family had a pleasant experience there .
First timers visiting for our 20th anniversary! We were a little unsure about cooking our own steak, but it all turned out really well!! The loaded baked potato fondue was absolutely amazing!! 10/10 recommend. Even my husband says he would go back.
Enjoyed the food and service, the tables are a bit tough to call comfortable. Loved the turtle dessert and the drinks were enjoyable too
We did the char grill this time and I did not care for it as much. Some of the food items stuck to the grill pan, which was annoying, but still tasty! Overall, we had a great time and the chocolate fondue is always amazing- get the Turtle!
Great experience, really appreciated the little extras they did for our Anniversary. Food was incredible as you would expect. Noah was our server and he was great.
The service was absolutely awful! We visit this location every time we are in the area and the service has always been great. This time was absolutely awful
Absolutely awful. Food was disgusting, service was sub par, and we paid the same amount we always do for an awful, terrible experience. I’ll never visit this location again.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary for dinner!
Decent experience. Vegan cheese and vegan chocolate fondues were terrific.
My husband and I went out for our 1 wedding anniversary. Evening started by my ordering a very basic cocktail (a Gibson) and my husband ordered a cocktail off the menu. The server didn’t know what the drink was, fine, but neither did the bartender nor did the bartender try to just google it. So I tell them what is in the drink and I would please like it shaken. My drink got to my table and wasn’t even cold and there was something floating it. I couldn’t identify if it was a part of a bug or a piece of paper. Either way the drink got sent back. Cheese fondue was pretty tasty and the salads were good. The main course was highly unpleasant. We selected the option to table fry our food, but the oil temp was set way to high which resulted in our food being basically burnt on the outside but not cooked on the inside. Even after the server turned the temp down, we tried to cook out food based on the provided time chart but everything just came out ruined. The meat was also either not seasoned at all or wayyyyy over salted. It just didn’t taste good. I am now under the impression that the melting pot is great for novelty but not so great if you’re looking for a delicious meal. It’s just very unfortunate that we spend the money we did for our 1 year wedding anniversary meal only to have it be so mediocre. Atmosphere was fine, server was ok, the manager came by when the bartender had no idea what my drink was, I appreciate the small effort to find out what I wanted. This restaurant is touted as a fancy place but it’s really not. It’s just over priced.
It was a great place to have my anniversary. From the time we walk in to thd time we finish, the service, the food and the place was amazing good.
We went for our anniversary and had a wonderful, delicious meal in a quiet, romantic atmosphere. Thank you for a great dinner!
All around great experience! Food was phenomenal and the atmosphere is always top notch!
No hostess for 5 min at front desk upon arrival, booth cushion not secured to booth, cast iron not oiled or hot enough, noisy bussing cart can be heard throughout the dining room. Concept seems great for a date night, execution and experience doesn't deliver for the $ spent. Left feeling ripped off like I paid someone else $200 to let me cook my own food. Felt like a slightly more adult version of Ghengis Grill...which also sucks...won't be back to TMP.
We have eaten at this restaurant at least 3 to 4:times a year since 2009. Our go to Valentine's birthday Christmas splurge. This last time I really noticed how worn the restaurant is needs a good scrubbing and remodel.
As for service I was brought 2 sets of dirty silverware and one had 2 different color long pieces of hair.
The food we ordered was the $99 diner for 2 steak upgrade.
Cheese fondue was Good
The salad was horrible my bacon was raw I showed it to waitress she didn't offer solution.
She brought the cast iron steak pan told us not to turn over 10 on eye.. our meat was not cooking I told my hubby to turn up she said if it starts smoking turn back down.... Last time waiter had it at correct temp seared perfectly.
Our booth was very tight and seat kept slipping forward it wasn't attached to wall...
Needless to say we won't be back unless it's a new situation.
We really enjoyed our waitress however this being our first time at this location we were disappointed. We didn’t feel like we were at a 200 dollar dinner. We’ve had better experiences at other locations.
But when comparing to other places in the strip of you are looking for food that isn’t fried, I would recommend!
Had a wonderful meal celebrating my wife’s birthday. Our server was exceptional and the food was wonderful as usual.
It was great! I got the ultimate package that included a dozen roses bottle of wine. Rose petals on the table and a delicious 4 course meal.
Good was okay... needed salt on everything. Server was too condescending. We felt like he didn’t want to be there or at least didn’t want to explain how to order fondue options throughly to us since we had never been there before. We kept asking about dishes and services the other tables got that we didn’t even know were possible because he (david) didn’t take the time to explain much.
Me and Husband came up for a getaway weekend it was his first time he loved it. We enjoy it very much.
Family vacation dinner! Great experience as always! Happy with the meal & service! Great! Great!
Let me preface this with two things: 1- I travel a lot. 2- I've eaten at some really great places.
I was unimpressed with my experience at the Melting Pot. I've heard wonderful things about it, so on an impromptu trip with my wife which turned into a 4 day adventure with ice storms back home, we thought we'd give it a shot.
Food portions are REALLY SMALL. We did the "bigger night out for two." I would've hated to seen the regular night out. The varieties of meat were delivered on a dish the size of what you would expect to see an order of sushi delivered on.
They were very stingy with the cheese. The pot was not half full.
The chocolate at the end was enough to go around a couple of times and my wife was definitely pleased with the taste.
We ordered a couple of libations off the drink menu. Glasses filled completely with ice and maybe a 1/4 ounce of alcohol with each one.
The ambience reminded me of an old Chinese buffet. Worn booths, carpet, and weird decor.
All in all, we tried it once and will most likely never do it again. I wouldn't recommend it, way too many great places in Gatlinburg when you're dropping that kind of money on a nice dinner.
Ours was around $150-160 after tip and taxes for a dinner for two including one mixed drink each.
Great food and wonderful staff. Waiter was wonderful and food was great.
Overall it was great! My girlfriend and I celebrated our late Valentine’s Day here. I’m vegan, she is not, so we ordered everything a la carte and I was honestly expecting it to be way more expensive than it was! Our server was good, just a little bit slow to return to the table sometimes. For the most part, we didn’t mind as we didn’t really need much, and being a server myself I understand that she has other tables to take care of! We enjoyed our experience here and would definitely dine here again!!
It was fun and we were glad to come. We have been to other Melting Pots before. We understand the Covid protocols and keeping your employees safe, but not having more personal interaction did make it less enjoyable. Probably will wait until we get past Covid before we come back.
We love the Melting Pot and have been several times. This experience was very good, but not as amazing as others. It was Valentine's weekend so we understand how busy it was.
Waitress was not helpful. Overpriced for the experience.
First time going and we are definitely going back. Love the options of meat as well as the salad bar. Great experience
We had a fantastic date night! Food and ambience was perfect!
Not the usual Melting Pot experience we are used to at home in Charlotte. Servers were inattentive and slow in response with additional veggies. Quality and taste of food was good.
We have all
Of my husband birthday dinners here. We love every server we have ever had! There is nothing like melting Pot out there!
Yes it was our first time going and the food and service was excellant
What a disappoint! My food was terrible and I feel like I wasted $100 on literally nothing. The flavors were off, my fondue didn’t melt and cheese was chewy, dirty glass and all around a failed experience. Go support a local business instead of this failed corporate chain. VERY upset that I wasted all this money and time for this horrible
The server was great! I believe his name was Isaiah he was wonderful and the food was good!
Date night with my wife for her birthday. I booked the reservation several days in advance and I’m glad I did. They were completely booked when we got there. The server was very helpful. We told him it was our first trip and he gave us pointers not on what to order but also on how to cook it. We got the Wisconsin cheddar dip for starters. My wife is gluten sensitive but they accommodated us nicely. The bread was great for gluten free. We skilled the salad and went straight to the entree. Our choice was steak lovers. The filet cuts weren’t the best. They came out tough. The teriyaki was ok. The garlic pepper steak was wonderful! The squash, zucchini and mushrooms were good too. I should mention we chose the cast iron grill option and it worked well. The chocolate/caramel dessert dip was incredible! The dipping fruit was fresh and the gf brownies were outstanding! The meal was very pricey but it was a special occasion and the experience was fun. I also tipped heavy because our waiter was so helpful. I would grade it a solid 9/10. We shall return.
