Melting pot is where we engaged over 5 years ago and we return each year to various locations for celebrating with excellent service and delicious food. The Gatlinburg location is acomodating and creative in celebrating you. Great food, great service.
It was a good experience but not our preference at the end of the day. Not a lot of food for the price. We will stick to places that cook for us but glad we gave it a try. Service was good.
Excellent food and service! Brianna our server was great!
A quiet spot amid the chaos of Gatlinburg. They seem to be short staffed. There was little attention being given at the bar. Sometimes 10 or more minutes went by and no one staffed it. When we finally decided to eat we were told the wait was 45 minutes. No service at the bar. I then went on Open Table and got a seat for dining within 10 minutes. The food is ok. Liked that we could easily get a vegetarian dinner.
Fun experience. Time to talk and socialize over a good meal.
Loved the experience. Food was great. Our server was awesome. But I feel the price is high for cooking your own food. However, it was fun for our anniversary. We got stuffed and we ate it all. They forgot our salads but reimbursed us for those. There's parking to the right of the building $10 and you get the money back at the restaurant. Don't lose your receipt and give it to them right away. We picked the Wisconsin cheese... amazing, the skillet to cook on....we did the pick 3. I got pot stickers (they were okay, I wouldn't get again), peppered steak (yum!) And shrimp (yum!) My husband got peppered steak and filet mignon (yum) chicken (pretty good). The sauces we're good. We both ordered sangria's and lined them. And dessert was divine. We just got regular milk chocolate. There's strawberries, pineapple, rice krispies, marshmallows, brownies and pound cake.
We loved our waiter Johnathan—great service and very personable! The chocolate fondue was really great and my kids loved it, as well as the experience overall. As for the cheese fondue and entrees, they were par at best and the whole meal was really pricey. Edible, but none of us finished everything and we were all really hungry. Fun for the experience, but we wouldn’t go back.
Isaac was great we shared like normal and had more than enough food. I wish they would’ve remembered the birthday that was on the reservation but it was still wonderful.
Great experience. My wife and I don’t usually like chains, but we enjoyed this!
We had such a wonderful, first time visit, to The Melting Pot in Gatlinburg last night. Gosh, what a different and wonderful experience!
Nothing like any other restaurant you’ll ever visit and there is a bit of a learning curve: Ordering one of the “Course” meals you get to cook your own choices from the menus right there on the table after the cheese fondue and salad! This is really a lot of fun especially if you have some cooking expletive. If you don’t you’ll be told how long to cook each type of entree you choose. I would go for the Iron skillet cooking next time as I’m an iron skillet cooking professional having all the possible skillets handing on my wall that one could have.
Be HUNGRY!!! For sure!
They do have nightly deals on bottle of wine and the beer choices are very affordable.
It was my birthday so we got a little extra bit we will most definitely visit The Melting Pot again I. Gatlinburg!
Thank y’all! We had a super, wonderful evening!!
We were on vacation and decided to try melting pot. Absolutely wonderful decision!
Food and service were both amazing. Always enjoy our visits here
Terrible...high pitched noise from the cook top that was maddening. Sashimi grade tuna was covered in garlic. Oil and vinegar was served in a broken bottle and old and made salad uneditable. Fire alarms went off ...
Wonderful experience, amazing service. Our waitress was great.
After reading some recent reviews I was skeptical about this location but we are so glad we went. The food was amazing and our waiter Ryan was spectacular! It was my wife and I’s first anniversary and we were given a special dessert plate and a booth just as I had requested on the reservation. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Will definitely be going back!
Great food, service, and setting! Recommend as a great place to go for a romantic date!
It was our 28th wedding anniversary and we had an outstanding waiter. The food was amazing. We were given a special anniversary suprise. They had Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on a plate. It meant a lot that the waiter was listening. Melting Pot is one of our favorite restaurants!
We noted that it was the kids birthday but that wasn’t acknowledged. This waiter was nice to the children- so that was great. But he came too late for more veggies, he didn’t really remember our order and he cleared the table while I was STILL EATING. Who does that?
The dessert was just ok, the bananas slimy and the strawberries very old looking.
I would have expected more.
Interesting concept. Fun to do once. Food was good, but not for that price.
Excellent place to celebrate with friends.
The food was poor and service was terrible. I dislike that your server makes your cheese fondue, as our server did not make it very well. Cooking every tiny piece of your raw food was not enjoyable, either. Overall taste was fine, but it took an hour and a half to eat half of the meat. By that time, we were ready to leave. The only good thing was the chocolate fondue, which is the one thing I would come back for. If you're considering going, I would suggest just going for dessert.
Excellent food and service.
Went to this location to celebrate my daughters birthday with her friends. Our server was pleasant and good, but there was a tall, shoulder length blond haired woman dressed in black (management maybe) that made our evening just miserable. It all started when I asked for clean fondue forks and was given the same dirty fondue forks back just wiped off (by the above woman who was also cleaning dirty dishes with same hands that she "wiped" off my fondue forks) I stated this was unacceptable and was ignored. Our forks were cleared off our table for a total of three times and three times I had to ask for more. The woman tells us "we should have kept our forks". She stared at us and rolled her eyes at the girls if they laughed. The girls were not too loud, just having fun. In fact we were the only ones in that dining area except a family with a toddler child. The girls told me they wished they had not ate there as they were uncomfortable the entire time. The food quality was good, but for a $200 meal for 4 people you shouldn't have to work so hard to just have utensils and not be made uncomfortable. I found this location is stuffy and rude, not the usual warm and friendly. With several goods restaurants nearby, don't waste your time here. I have always felt welcomed and taken care of at the Knoxville location, that is where I will go in the future
After reading other reviews, I realize the issues we had are common concerns which is sad because this is a nice restaurant. We were supposed to have a romantic dinner to celebrate, on my wife's birthday. Sadly, she was nearly in tears and we were JUST about to walk out after a 30 minute wait for ANYONE to acknowledge that we were there, after being seated. Once our existence was observed, the waiter and the food were both ok, even though our food order was wrong. (we didn't say anything since we didn't want to wait another hour for the correction) The bill was wrong (if you park in the garage next door, they will give you a refund in the form of a credit on your bill, just be sure to verify that it is taken off your bill). Nothing at all was done for my wife's birthday either (not sure if that is customary, but it has been at other MP locations) which I think she was secretly looking forward to. Needless to say, the expensive birthday dinner was a flop... not sure if we will go back to this location again.
We paid FAR too much money for what we got...there was only 3 of us, and we skipped the salad part to save money...we truly didn’t understand the pricing, and we STILL paid 180 or 185 including tip...and didn’t tip the percentage I would normally tip because we flat couldn’t afford it. The bill was a shock. Only our second time there...it is way above our budget. And lots of food went to waste. Too bad you don’t have smaller portions and prices for seniors.
Cute little place, the food was good, but not very many vegetarian options. One thing I didn’t get, is that there was a wait line, but many many empty tables. A bit too much wine in the fondue, but overall, good.
My boyfriend and I love this place. The food was out of this world, the atmosphere was nice, and the experience was a whole lot of fun.
My husband and I went here for our 3 year wedding anniversary. I asked for a quiet area when I made the reservation. They exceeded my expectations. This place was amazing! The serve was awesome, it was romantic and quiet. We will definitely be back.
I am a man of limited vocabulary, but if it was extensive, I would use every word to describe our dinner. This was the first time for both my wife and I, and every aspect was top notch. From the moment we were seated until I signed the bill, it was an experience we won’t soon forget. We were celebrating our 19th Anniversary and the lengths the staff went too were over the top. Our server, Isiah, treated us as if his only job was to take care of our every request. What was really amazing, according to the manager, he had been there a couple of months, but you would never know it. The food was awesome, service was unbeatable, and the atmosphere very conducive to an anniversary dinner. We fully recommend if you want a first class evening, go to the Melting Pot.....
We always love the dining experience at The Melting Pot. Never a disappointment! Love the new grill option.
This is a family special treat for us that we use yearly. We have a great time, experience and good memories.
My girls trip always goes to Melting Pot, wherever we are staying. As always the Gatlinburg location was amazing!
Food was very good. Service was extremely slow. It wasn’t busy at all when we were in. Our waitress was very friendly but her service was incredibly slow. We sat for a long time waiting in between our food.
This place was awesome. We had a great server. All the meats and fish we got were seasoned perfectly. This experience is one of the best and most unique that you’re find. Don’t let the negative reviews decide for you. Those people must of went on a bad night or they just Hatin. Just go you wont be disappointed.
It was great for our anniversary dinner. We wouldn’t be able to afford to take our family but it was just right for the two of us. It is pricey considering we are cooking everything ourselves but we were extremely satisfied with the meal and expected the cost. We will probably just do dessert if we get the chance to go again.
Wonderful first time experience, food was great. Can’t wait to return.
Our visit was a different experience. Cooking our own food was unexpected but enjoyable and the food was great. The service was good and the waiter was very informative and explained how to cook the food.
He also told us what we should and shouldn't do with the utensils. We will most likely visiting again and telling our friends and relatives about you.
