The Melting Pot is a different kind of dining experience. I hadn't been there in several years. We were celebrating our anniversary. I was please to find vegetarian entree options and they we're really good. The service was great. The manager stopped by our table with an anniversary card. I loved the quiet, that allowed my husband and I to carry on a quiet conversation. My favorite part of the meal was the cheese fondue and dessert chocolate fondue.

We have a great time every time we go to the Melting Pot and Saturday was no exception. We had family in town and 6 of our guests had never been before. Their kids loved it (as did they). It was a super fun night, and our server was amazing!

My 10 year old always picks this place if he’s having a special dinner. The atmosphere is great for having conversations, and the service is wonderful. We’ve also stopped for happy hour cheese and/or chocolate fondue, which is pretty inexpensive.

Since I was last here, salads have shrunk. Too much. Before, they were so large nobody could finish the entrees, but now they barely fill a bread plate, which was swimming in dressing.
The vegetables offered to accompany the cheese fondue were also a little skimpy. Who does celery?
Last, the meats were fine but the ahi tuna in sesame seed inexplicably salty, and in contrast my daughter's marinated tofu was so bland she couldn't eat it, even with sauce.
It seems like with the high price tag and the fact that the diner pretty much cooks for himself, they could step up their game a bit.

Great as always.....luv it here! We went for the Thanksgiving 4 person deal but we had 5 people. It was nice to receive a pro-rated price for the extra meal.

We have been to other locations of this restaurant chain before. This was actually our best visit so far. Our server was very good and the food was quick and timely to the table. We left very stuffed and satisfied.

We had a wonderful time for our wedding anniversary. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was very kind and helpful as it was our first time dining at the melting pot. We will definitely return!

Fun, different, and tasty! Option to have four-course meal — cheese fondue; salad; entree/broth fondue; chocolate dessert fondue — gives you lots of food and lots of combinations of tastes with different sauces and items to cook in the pots. The price can add up for what you're getting, but at least there's plenty of food to go around. Service (thank you, Kevin!) was very attentive, friendly, and helpful (considering first-timers may need a lot of explanation about how their fondue dinners work). Can definitely recommend for an nice occasion to try something memorable and delicious.

The Melting Pot was fantastic. Being raised in a Swiss household, I know what a good fondue should taste like. The Melting Pot captured the perfect Swiss Cheese fondue with their Alpine Cheese selection. They even offered Kirschwasser! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Cool concept, but the 4 courses took way too long...service was poor and took too long between courses. They seemed to be under staffed that night any we didn't get the attention we wanted for drink refills, pepper, additional fruit, etc.

Service atrocious. 15-20 minute periods of complete waiter disappearance and lengthy periods between each course. Even getting water and drinks was huge wait. This with reservations. We had kids on school night. Dinner took 3.5 hours! Sad because food is great. Hard to get past the service.

Food was fine but service not so much. Waiter never came back after food came to clear anything or refill drinks. We sat for 15 minutes after we finished before he ever came with check. This is the second time we have been there and both times the service has been terrible.

We love coming to the Melting Pot. We always have a wonderful dining experience. It is not a fast meal, but a nice leisurely meal. The 4 course are fabulous Of course my favorite is the chocolate at the end. Always fantastic! We have dinner here every couple of months. It is a nice time to catch up with family and friends while having a nice leisurely meal.

Wait staff and management are always very attentive and knowledgeable.

Fun experience and the fondue flavors were awesome. I will steer clear of pasta and vegetarian options next time and go with the traditional meats. Service was incredibly slow but careful and as a result we were given a free dessert. Perhaps a trainee. This would not deter me from going back but the 3 hour meal was not in my plans.

The experience is great. Be prepared to invest some time. Great opportunity to have social time with friends. Our waiter, however, was super slow. One example: Took over an hour to bring a second bottled beer and it was the wrong one. They weren't overly busy for him to be as disengaged from our table as he was.

Slowest service ever. We went for my husbands birthday and our meal for 4 took well over 3 hours. It took forever to flag down our server for extras and finally I had to go to the bar to close our our bill because we couldn’t find our server.
We we told we would get $10 off or chocolates for his bday but got neither.
Portions also seemed smaller than the norm. It’s a shame because our son wanted to go back for his bday in two weeks but we don’t have three hrs to waste on a school night.

Out service started with a wonderful bartender. I wish I could remember his name, but he's a Gaithersburg native. Our service from Logan and his manager (Alex?) throughout our entire dinner was exceptional. They were very helpful and attentive.

Really nice atmosphere, tables are private, low lighting, service was great and food suggestions from the wait staff were great too! Expect to spend 2 hours for a 4 course meal. Great spot just for dessert. A little pricey but a great experience

It use to be that the Melting Pot was an affordable place to go with generous servings of meat. They have generous servings of vegetables which is great however over the years the amount of meat you get is getting smaller. AND they never upcharged for cooking style Til now . Now you have to pay $6 if you choose something other then vegetable broth. For the $88 couples meal, there was only a selection of 4 pieces of meat/fish and 4 selections. You got more meat for the individual plate which was less money. AND there was an upcharge on their $88 couples special. We also got two vegetarian plates for $34 each which was very disappointing. I walked away hungry. The manager on staff was out of this world and very accommodating but after paying $270 for food and a $40 tip for the 5 of us (plus $20 for bday bear), we decided it wasn't worth the price for the small portions of main entree. Veggies are fine but who wants to pay $44 a plate for them ? After two decades of going to the Melting Pot and knowing what prices use to be - we will not return. It is only worth $20 a plate. We can go to the Rioz or Brazilian Steakhouse for $35 a plate for all you can eat meat and veggies. This was our first time at Gaithersburg. Again the price wasn't worth it but the staff was great.
