The Melting Pot - Fredericksburg Ratings and Reviews
My girlfriends and I love going to the Melting Pot! We especially love when they have their endless cheese & chocolate nights, which is our favorite! The service is always great, the food is always fresh and top quality, and the environment is inviting and cozy. We will keep coming back for our ladies nights!
This was our 1st time dining at the melting pot. We made reservations for 2 adults, 2 kids. I was happy to learn it was kid friendly. The food was ok but the service was so slow. We spent 2 hours waiting and dining on food that comes raw to the table. It's hard to say why raw food would take so long to make it to the table since it involves no work on their part. We sprung for a bottle of wine which was gone by the time the food came.
Went to the melting pot for a first date and it was so much fun! Being interactive with the food made everything really entertaining. The staff was very attentive and patient and our server was very well versed on the entire menu. We could not have had a better first experience here and hopefully will come back again for our next special occasion!
Our server (wish I could remember her name) was extremely friendly and very helpful to my girlfriend and I, who were both first-time customers. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. Bit out of my price range and we only went because I had a gift card, but I do hope to return again soon.
My husband and I have been coming to the Fredericksburg Melting Pot since our junior year in high school. It was our pick for both homecomings & proms. We continued the tradition by going every year to celebrate our anniversary. This year was our third year married and seventh year together total & yet again, this was our first choice. The food was delicious, as always! The wait staff and manager are always on top of things and I know we’re always taken care of!
We came for the second year to celebrate Christmas Eve as a family. The server was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was very crowded, so there were long pauses between the courses. The portions seemed much smaller than the previous year and for the price the food quality was lacking. There were good gluten free options, but this just fell short for us, especially at the price point for four people. We will be looking for another venue next year.
We have dined at the Melting Pot in numerous locations across the US. This was our first time in F’burg. I believe we had an inexperienced server. Although very friendly and courteous, there were several areas his lack of experience showed.
When our cheese fondue was made, he filled the bowl less than half full. In addition, the cheese was very thin and soupy. We had to ask for additional cheese. That did help the consistency, however, the bowl was not filled to the norm we were used to.
Our salads were served within minutes of the cheese fondue and we were not finished with the cheese course. Then when our entrees were served, we waited and waited for the meat and seafood to cook. I had to turn up the heat in order to get a rolling boil so our food would be cooked within a reasonable time. When the dessert course was served, he did not blend all the ingredients. Simple fix...we blended it ourselves.
Another server actually cleared our plates after each course as he noticed in passing they had not been cleared.
At any rate, this will not deter us from returning on another special occasion.
I took my mom to celebrate our birthdays. We had not been to Melting Pot. So our first dinner we were not sure what to expect. We were pleased that our waiter guided us through the menu & we chose the four course land & sea. The food was excellent and we were enjoying our time and the tasting experiences!
The food was good as always. Previously we had only dined there as a couple. This visit we came with 2 other couples to celebrate a birthday. We had 2 Fondue pots on the table. While that was nice to be able to have 2 different options of each course I felt the amount of cheese/chocolate offered in the 2 pots was the amount for 4 not 6 diners. The dipping items were plentiful, but the Fondue ran out before the dippers did. We never had this issue dining as a couple.
Melissa was wonderful. She came by when she was needed and didn't spend the entire time at the table. The woman must be telepathic, 'cause when we needed her she was there. She told us of the summer special and explain the different cooking methods and chocolate choices. Great time, great service. We'll be back.
