The Melting Pot - Duluth Ratings and Reviews
Not enough dippers/veggies. Also not enough dippers for the dessert to use all the chocolate we ordered for the size of our party. Had to ask for more to finish the chocolate. Salad size also seemed much smaller than in the past. Otherwise food and service was great and had a nice evening.
Arrived early for our reservation and seated promptly. Unfortunately, they seated us in a back room that looked more appropriate for a storage area. The other table in the room was a large table with a large family including infants. The room seemed brightly lit unlike the rest of the restaurant that had nice ambience. We requested a table more appropriate for the occasion- somewhere quiet with nice lighting more fitting with the type of restaurant . Once moved, we had a nice table and a great server. Food was excellent, service was wonderful. Had a great time.
I had heard good things so I had high expectations. However I was disappointed in the overall experience. The hostess clearly hated her job and had a poor attitude. It was a very poor value. Extremely expensive for what you get. On the bright side, the food tasted good, our waiter was excellent and the manager checked in with everyone.
I have been to multiple Melting Pot locations in a number of cities, and unfortunately I was underwhelmed. The atmosphere is very dull and lackluster. If you’ve been to other locations, you will not be impressed with this location. With that being said, the food was very good, but the experience could use improvement.
The wife and I go to the Melting Pot every year for our anniversary. It has always been a delightful experience. This last time, while the food was good and the service was excellent, there was a couple that had brought a very small child. The child was not more than 2 yrs old and screamed most of the time. I wish there was a age limit or something. This is a nice place, it's romantic but screaming kids kind of kill the ambiance.
Both the food and service was outstanding. Not only was our waiter attentive but the manager came by multiple times to see if we needed anything. They're currently raising money for St. Jude. A $10 donation gets you a $20 gift card. The food was incredible, definitely go for the Coq au Vin preperation. All the food was great but I particularly recommend the teriyaki and garlic and wine marinated steaks.
Another special occasion visit to the Melting Pot Duluth. Always count on them to make the day special. Taking the time for a long dining experience and a tech detachment is the best is what makes for a perfect night here. Spend time talking to each other and experiencing the meal is what it is all about. Thanks to Alexander for fantastic service all night.
I recently had to go gluten free and was worried about how that would impact my dining options here. I shouldn’t have been worried at all! They have tons of gluten free options on the menu, including their drink menu, and the entire staff was well trained in this area. I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything. We had a great dinner!!
This was our first visit to the Duluth location, and it far exceeds the Alpharetta location. The table set up arrangement is not as cramped and feels much more private. The service from the young man who seated us to the server to the manager was FABULOUS. They didn't constantly bother us, but they were paying attention to see if we had any needs. They all smiled and chatted some which made us feel very comfortable. They were definitely there to please us! The food as always was the best! We had a special for two called "the Atlanta night out". It had cheese fondue, salad, vegies and potatoes and the meat platter which had everything from filets to lobster tails, etc. We will be going back VERY SOON!! We highly recommend it.
Great food as always. Service was exceptional. Highly recommend for a special occasion. Wish people would not bring their infant kids in though. Came in at 730 and shortly after us a group was seated with very small children. Cried and screamed the whole time and kinda ruined the ambience. Again not the restaurants fault but hoping people read this and think before they bring an infant to a restaurant that takes 2+ hours for an average dining experience for most people. Wish they had one closer to Athens!
Good selection of wines by the bottle or glass with a few regular flights to complement most meals. Recently started feature flights of wine and menu items that change out every couple of months. Keeps the variety of cheese and chocolate selections fresh. We return again and again for the orange duck. Rich flavor and great consistency.
We had a great meal and time! Our server was very friendly but we felt like he didn't take his time when explaining the food and the process. He talked super fast like he was in a hurry and the restaurant didn't seem very busy. Creme brulee dessert and Cajun meat was delicious!
Our waiter Michael was fantastic! He was knowledgeable about all the specials (they had a wine and cheese special), answered questions but didn't tell you everything if you were already very familiar with the food and fondue process (which we were). He was witty, quick to serve, very personable. Normally the restaurant is good for quiet conversation, but the night we were there a party of approximately thirty 14 year olds were there because it was one of them's birthday, and even though they were in the large "party" room in the far corner of the restaurant, the noise level was a little high because they are 14 years old! They weren't bad or unusually loud, that was just a lot of 14 year olds at one time. Overall, it was very enjoyable and we will go back again.
Restaurant called three hours before to confirm the reservation - why make one with Open Table if it has to be confirmed?
You can get better service at a fast food restaurant. Wait Service was horrible; gaps of 15 to 20 minutes and more between courses, with no server or any assistance from anyone in the place. Had to corral the manager to get someone to serve the dessert course. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for reasonable service.
I have been to the Melting Pot in Midtown and was expecting the same experience. It was not. Basically a Chili's...Literally had to step over a dirty diaper walking in. Interior needs to be updated. Food is just okay. I would say go but skip the entree... Just get a cheese, salad, and a chocolate. If you want a nicer experience- take the drive to Midtown!!
