The Melting Pot - Dallas - Addison Ratings and Reviews
I came here for a first date, and I couldn’t recommend it more. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the fondue provided an activity that was very fun to try out and interact with someone on a first date. Although a little pricey, it is fine dining and worth it for a special occasion or an anniversary. Would recommend.
I wish I could remember our servers name. This guy was OUTSTANDING.
He needs one helluva raise. PLEASE try to find out who he was and compliment him.
It was my daughter's suggestion to to there.
WAY OUT OF MY comfort zone, but the waiter explained everything and had great suggestions.
The food......... beyond amazing.
The entire experience made both myself and my daughter's weekend.
WE WILL BE BACK.
Thanks very much
Didn't take our drink order till we ordered food. When drinks came they were wrong. Left out one of the ingredients from our cheese course. Brought us the wrong cooking broth. they were out of allot of stuff we wanted to order and the wait staff was not helpful when it came to choosing anything other than their 4 course meal. I reached out to them online... No response. But the food was good and fondue is fun!
We went to The Melting Pot for my birthday, which was noted on the reservation, and confirmed with the person who called from the restaurant to confirm the reservation, including who in the party was celebrating a birthday. While I heard the hostess recognize several other guests, and servers congratulating diners at other tables, our server did not recognize me.
My wife noticed it and kept pointing out that others were being told "happy birthday" and being treated very nicely. Our server was not even aware until my wife told her.
Outside of that, Evelyn was very nice and treated us very well. I don't hold her responsible for not knowing about the special occasion. We could tell she was relatively new at her role, but she did a really good job. She explained the menu, all of our options and explained everything along the way.
If we return, we will ask for Evelyn.
Our server was from New Orleans, and he was fabulous. Best and friendliest and funniest server I've ever had. He actually made the whole night for us and we thank him for that.
The food was just ok and it was INSANELY overpriced!!! I could not believe the bill when we got it!
Again, the server saved the whole night, and we wish him the very best!
This was the second time we came for a birthday celebration. Our waiter, Hector, was VERY attentive, VERY knowledgeable, and VERY helpful in everything. The fare was interesting, tasty, and inventive, and even though it was two days AFTER Thanksgiving, we left stuffed and well-satisfied. Will third time be the charm as well? Same time, next year!
Food is great... Come with an appetite. Service is ok. Our waiter was really nice and knowledge. The restaurant either needs more waiters or work on timing since there is a lot of set up between courses. Host staff / mgmt at this location is unprofessional and borders on rude when you ask about being seated for reservation. The overall experience not as great as Arlington location...superior.
Our waitress was not attentive to our table at all. She spent more time outside smoking than bringing us the food we requested. We had to ask many times for more water and when we asked for more sauces, they never came. When it came time to split the bill, she was unable to do so accurately. Poor experience. I've been to this Melting Pot many times and this was, by far, the worst experience so far. Not sure I'll be back.
I really love The Melting Pot, but this location has been disappointing on 3 of the 4 visits I’ve made. On this latest visit, the server neglected to put the garlic into the cheese fondue, rendering it virtually tasteless. Additionally, the salad was nearly half the size it has been in the past, and drenched in dressing.
I moved from San Antonio at the beginning of the year and sorely miss the location there. The food, service and atmosphere were so far superior to the Dallas location.
We went to the Melting Pot for my birthday dinner and it was delicious. Everything was good and fresh and the courses were timed just right. I can't remember what it was specifically, but there was something about one of the courses we wanted to change and our server made sure he covered all our options so we would be happy with our choice. It seems like a little thing but it's so rare these days to find one that really seems to care whether you'll like your order when you get it. We had Wisconsin cheese fondue with bread and veggies to start, then Land & Sea and Beef-Lovers plates in traditional bouillon for dinner. Milk chocolate fondue for dessert. All very good. They even gave me half a dozen chocolate dipped strawberries to take home even though I didn't call ahead to request them like I should have. It's my favorite restaurant for ambiance too, as there are tables tucked here and there all over the place so it's not just one noisy room. Great for a relaxing dinner and quiet conversation. The restaurant doesn't look nearly as old as it is. The cooktops and pots and silverware do look very old, but they were clean, so I don't mind that so much. If you park in front of the building you have to take the stairs up- they are steep and slightly twisty... so if you need an elevator, make sure you call ahead and ask where to park.
I have always enjoyed the melting pot for its amazing service, delicious food and ambiance but the Addison location is subpar. Noisy, dimly lit, outdated and lack of skills for service delivery. After our experience Applebee’s would have been better quality and better cost. I would never recommend this location and that’s so sad.
We were put at a tiny table tucked away in an alcove. The alcove was right next to the kitchen, so we got to hear clattering dishes and chefs/waiters yelling out instructions. Also, there was a glaringly bright light directly above the table that made me feel like I was under interrogation.
Brandon’s experience: I am still hungry, tired from working so hard, and I feel critiqued by other party members
Ollivea: I had a great dinner. And love everything. The waiter was a bit judgement, but aye that’s fine.
Crystal: so much food, yummy and fun
Bearded gunsmith: awesome awesome awesome!!!!!!!!
The Melting Pot is a great experience everyone should try at least once. The food is top notch and the waiters are very friendly. The atmosphere is romantic and cozy. My wife and I usually have our anniversary at The Melting Pot and we've never once had a bad meal. Love it.
The Melting Pot is always fun, but this time we got a server who seemed frantic and kept forgetting what we asked for. When we would remind him, we got excuses about how long it was taking for someone else to get what he needed, but it was obvious that he was just forgetting to do his job. The food was still great, and it was fun, but too many experiences like that one and we may find somewhere else to go for unique dinners.
I love the Melting Pot and will continue to go there, but unfortunately, the service on the night we went was the worst I've ever had. I don't know if the waiter was new or just needs more training, but he made the evening not as much fun as usual. Oh well.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
It’s no longer the cool, romantic place to go. It doesn’t seem “upscale at all, especially for the prices. The wait staff doesn’t do any kind of presentation or show. The waiter was either pushy or none existent. When the bill came he said they add a 20% gratuity for tables of 6 or more but that he felt good about us but if he was wrong to let him know so he could “pull that trigger”.
Dim lighting is their friend but if you look closely the interior is in very poor shape and not very clean.
The table burners are also dirty so when they fire them up the odor and smoke isn't very appetizing.
The cheese and chocolate fondue are really good but the protein quality is subpar. They definitely take shortcuts on the grade of meat and seafood. Recommend skipping the dinner portion and only coming in for apps or dessert.
