The Melting Pot - Columbus Ratings and Reviews
I was shocked when I arrived and realized that the cheapest option was 40 dollars per person. You are not given the option to order just an entree (which is absurd). The only option is to get a 4 course meal. We ended up spending 102 dollars and the only drink we got was water. It’s ridiculous- do not go here. The server was kind but the over all feeling of the place is dark and grimey. It does not even have a high class feeling (which I feel is necessary in a restaurant where you spend at least $100).
Overall a good experience. It was our second time at the Melting Pot in Columbus. The first time we had a great time with just two of us. We had great prompt service and an excellent server.
This most recent time our server was missing for long periods of time while we waited for drinks, sauces, and the different courses.
The worst wait was when it took almost a half hour to pay and leave as our server dropped off the bill, said "Whenever you're ready.", and then disappeared. When he finally reappeared he disappeared for another ten minutes to run the debit card.
Despite the poor service, it was still great food, and we enjoyed it. We will go back.
Tyler Was a complete professional server. I think that Was his name. He was accommodating and entertaining And he left us alone to enjoy ourselves when it was needed. I could see how the experience there would have been mediocre with a less personable server. The melting pot is a very creative concept And I see the appeal based on that. But the service I got took it over the top.
I made our reservations to celebrate our 26th anniveresary. Our server, Adam, was warm and engaging throughout the evening. The menu was perfectly reviewed and our meal was expertly presented. Truly a wonderful experience from beginning to end where we both felt catered to. They set the bar high in service and quality. Will never contemplate going anywhere else for important celebrations!
Tim, our server, was excellent. Fun, different way to spend the evening as a family, celebrating a birthday. While it does take some time, it was very enjoyable, kept kids (ages 10 and 12) engaged in conversation while cooking. A bit pricey to go frequently but worth a special occasion.
While this restaurant is normally quiet, we were seated next to a large group with children who couldn't sit still for the extended time it takes to get through a meal here. This is not the restaurant's fault, but I wish they had a different area for large groups or had an age limit as most kids don't have the patience for this type of experience.
There are much better dining options at Easton then The Melting Pot which felt outdated and a poor value compared to other nearby options. Our server was really nice, but the overall experience was disappointing. We had a gift card, but had we paid for it ourselves we would've been extremely disappointed. Outdated atmosphere aside, the cheese and chocolate courses were enjoyable - if you can put aside the outdated feel of the place, this would be a fun place for a snack before/after shopping.
Our overall experience was just OK. Our server was nice but we feel we were misled when we asked if we could order only cheese and then desert fondue. He essentially told us that we would pay for the entire dinner even if we did not eat the dinner course. We found out toward the end of the meal that is not the case. Disappointing. There are too many wonderful restaurants at Easton. We will not return to the Melting Pot.
We've eaten here at least 10 times before and the service and food has always been outstanding.
Tonight we came in for my daughter's 7th birthday and from the start the service was slow. Took at least 10 minutes just to place our order. Our drinks didn't make it out until almost 20 minutes after we ordered them. We didn't have our first course until well after 30 minutes and everything gradually got worse.
For dessert my daughter picked the cookies and cream marshmallow dream chocolate. It was prepared at almost exactly 10pm. It had an overwhelming aroma of booze. The alcohol taste was so overpowering you couldn't even taste the chocolate. We were going to ask for them to remake it but after waiting 25 minutes without seeing our waiter we elected to just to snack on the desserts without the chocolate. Now at 10:45 we have still not seen our waiter and flagged down a passing hostess to get our check.
We arrived at 745pm and did not exit the restaurant until 1105pm. I get that the courses are typically spread out a fair amount but many times throughout the evening we found ourselves waiting upwards of 20 minutes just to see our waiter again. I never got even one refill of water and had to ask a passing waiter for a second drink for another member of our party.
I took out my wife after she returned from a month-long trip and had my son who just returned from a deployment. Did not know what to expect, but the ambiance was great. The menu had something for everyone. The price was a bit more than I would have liked, but it was a great experience.
I've been holding onto a Melting Pot gift card for several years, and my husband and I finally decided to go for our anniversary. Having never been there, we didn't know what to expect. The restaurant was not very busy, but our meal took nearly three hours to complete. The food was just okay and way overpriced. Honestly, if I wanted to cook my own meal, I would have just stayed home and saved myself a bundle. Overall, it just wasn't a great experience, and I doubt we'll ever go back.
Had a great time. Wasn't sure what to think at first never had been before. It was truly a unique dining experience one that everyone should try and definitely go back. Would be fun with group of friends or just two people. Try the Four Course option and they allow substitution - which is always a great option!
My wife and I go here all the time. Some of the staff know us by sight. Usually we love it; but this time there was a huge noisy group next to us, our waitress was clumsy bordering on careless (spilled several things, banged dishes down on the table, etc.), she didn't make the cheese correctly (left out ingredients), let the broth boil down so much that we had trouble cooking in it, and was generally inattentive to the status of our drinks, food, etc. The entrees were good, but let's face it no one goes here for the food alone. It is entirely too expensive considering you do most of the cooking yourself. Without top-notch service and a quiet, romantic ambiance it was an extremely disappointing experience.
We went to the Melting Pot for my boyfriend’s birthday. Neither of us had ever been so we wanted to try something new. We got the Wisconsin cheese and were not disappointed! Everything from the salads to the meats were delicious! The amount of food given was more than I thought and we were both stuffed at the end! Our waiter Bill constantly was checking on us and if we wanted more bread he was on it! I was surprised there was a good size selection for the chocolate fondue.. we went with the s’mores and were not disappointed! You are given a huge selection of things to dip from bananas, strawberries, pineapple to marshmellows, brownies, pound cake and more!! The booths were high so it added privacy where you felt like you were the only ones in the restaurant! We can’t wait to go back!
