The Melting Pot - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
Had dinner at Melting Pot for a special date and was not disappointed! Service was friendly and welcoming, and absolutely attentive. The waitress took her time explaining the menu, and made sure we got exactly what we wanted.
We ordered the Big Night Out and were not disappointed. The chicken was nothing special but everything else was incredible and the Lavender Tea was great. Dessert was the Flaming turtle and it was lovely.
Well worth the money and we'll be back!
Unfortunately, we had a very bad first impression :-( Our reservation was for 8:30 and when we walked in, there was a large crowd of people in the lobby. I thought that maybe a large party was leaving and just chatting before heading out into the cold night. We soon found out we were very wrong. After waiting for 5 minutes at the check in (we began to think that maybe we there was some place else to check in) a woman walked up and asked if we had reservations. We told her 8:30 and she smiled and said, ok, you are all checked in. The crowd of people was still there so I politely asked how long it would be since I had assumed that if you make a reservation for 8:30 that you won't be waiting long. She smiled and said, there are a lot of people ahead of you but people are starting to leave. We were not starving so we headed to the bar to get a glass of wine. We had seen a bartender there but as soon as we walked up and asked for help, he said just a minute and left. After waiting 5 minutes and hearing another couple say to each other that they had been waiting for over 45 minutes, we left. Extremely disappointed and hoping that maybe this was just an off night for them. No plans to return any time soon though as we have plenty of great restaurants to choose from in Cincy :-)
We have been here several times, and usually have a good experience. However, service was slow, and our server was switched partway through. We had to wait for utensils, salad dressing, and drinks. Server was pretty sloppy, altho he was nice. I had informed them of it being my husband’s birthday, but no one acknowledged it. Very disappointed.
We had a 25% off coupon that apparently was for the Dayton location. Disappointed that they would not accept it. They were also under staffed for the amount of people so the service was not what it should have been. Not sure that we will go back - at least to this location.
Food was good, service was poor. I understand the unique pressure that serving fondue provides, but refills were sparse, the mixed drink we ordered never was entered nor never arrived. Entree course was a little late. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but many things worked against us.
Worst of all was attempting to maneuver with a toddler in arms through the crowded "center" of tables. If more than one table was setting up a new course, it was hard to get past. Once child was in her high chair, it felt that she was in the way of our server and other servers. Leaving the dining room was just as treacherous with child in my arms.
Next time we think about coming to The Melting Pot, we will have to leave baby behind or simply wait until she's bigger.
Great gluten-free dining experience. On the pricey side but worth it for a milestone 18th birthday for my daughter with celiac disease. It's been hard to find a restaurant that takes gluten and cross-contamination issues seriously since her diagnosis, but The Melting Pot does without sacrificing quality or taste. The service was excellent as usual. Well done Melting Pot!
Fun experience and good food! Very pricey if you want to take your whole family out to dinner. A little disappointed in the vegetarian meal. Definitely not worth the price but my husband and daughter LOVED their meet choices. The cheese fondue and the chocolate fondue were amazing!
I took my wife here for my birthday. Our waitress Ariel was what made her night amazing. She was very professional yet very laid back making us feel right at home. Definitely would recommend her. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were adequate. It was a very enjoyable night there.
It had been a while since we had been to the Melting Pot, but we were really pleased with the whole evening. The ambiance, food, service and pricing were all just great. Laura did a wonderful job serving us, and the different fondues made the evening interesting as well as tasty. Would highly recommend the Melting Pot. I’m sure we’ll go back soon.
We came for the event with Santa and boy was that a treat! We brought our 6 year old and she had a lot of laughs with Santa before we sat down and then colored him a picture before she left to hug him again. He did an amazing job. Our waitress was wonderful and gave our little one all the attention she could have asked for, she felt like a princess! The food was incredible as usual and we all came home stuffed and completely in bliss! Thank you for this event!
We were seated promptly. It was quiet and casual. The server was knowledgeable and very helpful. We enjoyed the large sampler meal. Everything was tasty and good. The only problem we had was at the specific table we were at, there was no lighting overhead. It was very dark in our booth and difficult to see the menu and then our food. Part of the enjoyment of a meal is the sight and presentation of a meal. To give an example, at the end of the meal I turned on my phones flashlight and realized that the sauces were brightly colored, including a BRIGHT YELLOW sauce. Throughout the meal we had no idea of what our meal actually looked like. Very confusing to eat a meal in a very dark location. I would not recommend it. Especially when you are cooking your own food. Its hard to tell if it looks done or not. Summary - good food - bad lighting. The other tables all had an overhead light and I am sure they did not have the same problem. When I mentioned to the server how dark it was, she said she liked it because she did not bump her head on a light when she was serving. If we ever go again I would not sit in the booth we had.
Overall experience was good. Ordered drinks at the bar while we waited. They called us for our table before our drinks were ready. Said they would bring over to us, but they forgot to bring the drinks to our table. Very kind about it and covered the drinks (we did not ask for that). Food was good, dessert is delicious! Double date deal was ok if you liked exactly what is included, but after all our upcharges to make changes, I think the Big night out would have been a better value for us to get what we wanted. There was a large party next to us that was a handful and loud (no fault to MP), but we felt bad for their waiter!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Melting Pot. This was also our first time to dine at this restaurant. What a lovely experience! Our server was wonderful. She even gave us an anniversary card and champagne for a toast! The food and wine were amazing! We will definitely be going back again. I highly recommend this restaurant!
