The Melting Pot - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is very nice , almost elegant . To go to this place you have to be willing to try new things. I would say the menu is for adults unless you are getting desserts. A romantic night out would be great for here. The staff are all nice and welcoming and do a good job recommending and giving you all information needed.
Incredible food, but unfortunately slow service. Arrived at 7:55 pm for 8:15 pm reservation, finally seated at 8:45 and then left at the end of our dinner at 10:45 pm. Not because of excessive talking, but took a long time to receive service. Lovely staff and maybe it was just a busy night.
This place is awesome! The food is delicious and it’s a dining experience. The waitstaff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful without the slightest hint of condescension. Between the food and the service this is an all-around great place to go. It is a bit pricey but well worth it.
This is my personal favorite restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. They have a ladies night which is fun to go out with the girls. They also do make accommodation for special occasions. I would not recommend if you have small children as there is a hot plate on the table for cooking. I waited to bring my children so they could appreciate the experience. My coworkers and I visit frequently. We all love this place!
Best experience yet! Our waitress (I forget her name unfortunately, 😕I) was fantastic. Attentive, thoughtful, and outgoing! We were treated so well. And Jared made a point to make our experience great as well. We definitely will be coming back. Couldn't have asked for better service. A memory for the books.
Melting pot is my favorite restaurant. However this time we were disappointed in the service. At a restaurant that is such an interactive experience, the service really makes the meal. We thought we were off to a good start with the GM greeting us at our table. He took our order and our requests of waters to accompany our drinks from the bar we ordered before being sat at our table and my request of extra green goddess sauce. My boyfriend also ordered the flight to pair with the courses. During our meal the flights were delayed to the point where he was getting them after he had finished the cheese, then salad and so on. The waters we had asked for did not come until we were almost done with our entree. Bartenders were great though! Will still like to visit soon but will ask for a different server.
Amazing! Service was top notch Lacey was our “guide” through our first time there! Was extremely helpful with every aspect of the expierence. Timing of “courses” were prompt and not rushed to order! I would recommend to anyone looking for a first time date to a couple of 18yrs who don’t get out much! The Melting Pot was just plain great!
I am not exactly sure what is happening but I have noticed a significant decline in our overall experience in the last year. We are somewhat regulars, go about 4-6 times a year, and it seems some changes have been made. It seems the overall staff has been reduced resulting in servers having more tables and the overall server guest experience has dropped. Servers seem too busy to converse with diners. Our drinks are not refilled nearly as fast and the pace of the meal seems even slower than normal. The salad portions have noticeably been reduced and the green goddess dipping sauce has been sadly changed. On our last visit, I even noticed the bathroom napkins were changed to cheap towels. (A minute, meaningless detail on its own but when you couple it with all the other cuts, it’s concerning). I am fine with increasing prices but please do not try to save money by going cheap on portion sizes or staff. While we love The Melting Pot, we are afraid the food, service, and overall experience is starting to not be worth the money. Please, please simply increase your prices slightly and do not make cuts that affect the overall experience.
Long time diner.
The food was delicious as always, but the service was horrible. Although our server was friendly and nice, we waited at least 10 minutes after we were seated until anyone came to our table and then waited another 20 minutes for our glasses of wine to arrive (we actually received our salads before our drinks and we ordered the drinks first). One of our salads arrived without the dressing and since no one came back to check on us, we had to track down another server to get us dressing. We asked 4 separate times for water refills and never got them. We go to this location a few times a year and the service is bad every time. I think we'll just have to throw in towel on the Melting Pot and find somewhere else for our group to meet, despite the fact that we enjoy the food.
the reason i gave it only 3 stars in service is because the reservation was for 6:15 and they took over half an hour to seat us (we arrived right at 6:15). what’s the point of making reservations and arriving on time then? it’s not like this is a brand new restaurant that’s figuring out their operations.
Had dinner at Melting Pot for a special date and was not disappointed! Service was friendly and welcoming, and absolutely attentive. The waitress took her time explaining the menu, and made sure we got exactly what we wanted.
We ordered the Big Night Out and were not disappointed. The chicken was nothing special but everything else was incredible and the Lavender Tea was great. Dessert was the Flaming turtle and it was lovely.
Well worth the money and we'll be back!
Unfortunately, we had a very bad first impression :-( Our reservation was for 8:30 and when we walked in, there was a large crowd of people in the lobby. I thought that maybe a large party was leaving and just chatting before heading out into the cold night. We soon found out we were very wrong. After waiting for 5 minutes at the check in (we began to think that maybe we there was some place else to check in) a woman walked up and asked if we had reservations. We told her 8:30 and she smiled and said, ok, you are all checked in. The crowd of people was still there so I politely asked how long it would be since I had assumed that if you make a reservation for 8:30 that you won't be waiting long. She smiled and said, there are a lot of people ahead of you but people are starting to leave. We were not starving so we headed to the bar to get a glass of wine. We had seen a bartender there but as soon as we walked up and asked for help, he said just a minute and left. After waiting 5 minutes and hearing another couple say to each other that they had been waiting for over 45 minutes, we left. Extremely disappointed and hoping that maybe this was just an off night for them. No plans to return any time soon though as we have plenty of great restaurants to choose from in Cincy :-)
We have been here several times, and usually have a good experience. However, service was slow, and our server was switched partway through. We had to wait for utensils, salad dressing, and drinks. Server was pretty sloppy, altho he was nice. I had informed them of it being my husband’s birthday, but no one acknowledged it. Very disappointed.
We had a 25% off coupon that apparently was for the Dayton location. Disappointed that they would not accept it. They were also under staffed for the amount of people so the service was not what it should have been. Not sure that we will go back - at least to this location.
