From start to finish this was a fantastic experience! All employees were extremely friendly, helpful and provided great customer service. The food was delicious, as usual, and I especially appreciated the extra cleanliness and precautions taken due to COVID. Thank you for a great night!
Food is always great and service was fantastic.
The food was good but you have to cook it yourself. Thought that was interesting but apparently that’s the entire point
Excellent good & service.
Always outstanding. I appreciated the extra care regarding COVID (waiting in my car until my table was ready, temp check upon entering, paper menu).
The real highlight of this past Saturday was the wonderful service we received from our waitress. She gave us attentive service that I didn’t expect at my first visit to Melting Pot. Also to add, this restaurant will text you from the parking lot to come in. A kudos goes out to them for keeping their patrons safer. We were a party of 4 and the food was ample. We went for the 3 course including the lobster tail appropriately named “the Bigger night.” We all have had some personal experience making fondue at home and once you come here you realize it’s best to have someone else do all the chopping, slicing and dicing for you and come here. I can see why the ratings were so good. The food was tasty and we all ordered cocktails. I particularly enjoyed my berry mojito and our complimentary strawberry champagne at dessert.
Despite precautions for COVID the meal and the experience was excellent...this is a VERY pricey meal and we usually only go for special occasions but still very worth it.
We have not been here since they renovated, and the place looked great. The food was delicious! Overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back. My only complaint was that our waiter seemed to be stretched too thin... maybe understaffed and he had too many tables? He was slow getting our drinks and refills throughout the night, but he was very nice.
Awesome, great for date night. Amazing servers.
We waited a half hour for our reservation to be honored. The hostess’ showed no concern and did not keep us informed of progress- very disappointing. However, our server was amazing and so fast and attentive! At the end she gave us a $25 gift card for our troubles.
Leave yourself a good amount of time. This isn't a quick-in, quick-out restaurant. But don't save it only for special occasions either. We came in for a light support tonight of cheese fondue and salad (and of course a little dessert). The perfect sized meal for more casual dining!
We enjoyed the experience. The kids had a blast and the staff was extremely attentive.
Simple basic fondue, but they ruin the experience with the meat and that is what is so expensive. I don’t mind paying anything for a great meal, but the food tasted like kids were in the back chopping meat, bread and veggies into squares to serve it raw at the table is a whole other story that grossed us out. Was looking fwd to the chocolate the most and after dipping like 4 bites it was gone- so dumb. The whole experience was extremely disappointing and underwhelming for $170. The only cool part was the birthday card they had ready for my date, the birthday girl! I chose this place because she wanted to go, and all the pics online were of chocolate sauce written wishes for special occasions (happy birthday, happy anniversary, etc) and we didn’t even get that.
Fantastic food in a unique setting. Wait staff was attentive and highly professional.
oh my goodness, the attention to safety with the covid 19 was above and beyond any other restaurant I have been to ever! Ariel was our server and is ALWAYS awesome, thank you for such an excellent dining experience.
Great customer service, easy to understand directions in regards to preparing ur meal. Prices were pretty affordable considering ask that you get within the package
Glad you enjoyed Donte, thank you for the review!
I can hardly believe how much fun this dining experience was. The food was not only interactive and entertaining, but surprisingly delicious! The duck, steak, and shrimp were all tender and the array of dipping sauces were unique and tasty. The chocolate pot flambeed at the end with a platter full of treats may have been the best part. Will definitely return with family and friends.
Glad you enjoyed, thank you!
The Melting Pot is a yearly Anniversary tradition. It never disappoint. It was another great experience.
Thank you for the review Heidi!
Kara was our waitress and she was a delight. Her personality and genuine kindness was over and above.
Everything that evening including the food, social distancing, cleanliness were spot on!
Thanks for a great July 4th!
Thank you for spending the holiday with us! & for the kind words. Be well
Restaurant was recently renovated. It has improved the ambiance of your meal
Thank you Mary
Our first time and enjoyed the meal! Lots of food and the desert fondue was fantastic. Would certainly return.
We were seated and waited for 15 minutes before the server showed up. When she finally made her way over she never apologized for the wait. The hostess informed us it was restaurant week which we didn’t know so that was a nice surprise. She let us know the server would let us know all about the details. The server never brought it up, I had to ask about it. We placed our order, cheese was slow to come out and she said to let her know if we need any more bread or veggies. We ran out of items and needed more but she never came back until the cheese was almost gone making it a moot point to even offer more items to dip. Our drinks were empty multiple times. Other servers had to refill our drinks. The main course came out and was fine. I asked for more veggies as soon as the food came out knowing we would want more and never see her again which was true. Chocolate was fine as well. We love the food and the experience but the last two times we have been here the service has been awful!
I felt very comfortable in the restaurant, the tables were spaced a distance apart, and there was someone walking around sanitizing surfaces and handles. The remodel is beautiful, it was a very nice dining experience
We were celebrating our 3 year anniversary. We both had never been and the server was very nice and friendly. She helped us know what the general experience was like gave great recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious. Cooking your entree was an experience I’ve never had - totally unique. They also gave us a plate that read “Happy Anniversary” in chocolate sauce. For an appetizer, salad, entree, dessert, and water, the bill was about $100. Although this is pricy, I feel that for everything that you get, it’s worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something fancy.
Start to finish dinner was extremely underwhelming. We decided to try here for restaurant week and sadly were disappointed by almost every aspect. We were greeted by Nick promptly. But there was someone else following him all night that he never introduced. Not once. So it was very awkward. Nick was not knowledge of the menu. Which is fine if you’re new or just plain forget—it happens! But at least say admit you don’t know. It was our first time here so we didn’t know how everything worked and weren’t really walked through the process other than you pick an item from each sub section. There was lipstick on my boyfriend’s glass. This is particularly disturbing due to every thing going on with Covid 19–shouldn’t you be sanitizing you’re silver ware and glassware more carefully?! We should have left there but we didn’t. We were hoping the food would save the night but it didn’t. Drinks took over 15 minutes with no one sitting at the bar. Maybe Nick forgot? I would hope not because he only had a couple tables. Our salads came out with our first course. But then there was a huge gap of time between 1/2 course and main courses. The mains were also super underwhelming. We ordered the bourguignnone style preparation but were only given a pit of canola oil. The description mentioned panko and sesame tempura batter which sold us. But again, just a pot of oil was brought. My boyfriend’s cocktail sat empty for most of the entree course. Never was offered another one. He finally asked Nick what the seasonal Great Lakes beer was and he said he’d ask the bar. Never came back to tell us what it was. Reluctantly, my boyfriend ordered a Psychopathy when Nick finally came back. Fifteen minutes goes by—no beer. We finally got the beer but were practically rushed to pay our bill and leave. I understand changes are made in the industry due to Covid but service standards shouldn’t be one of them. Waste of $100+. So disappointing for date night. Will not be back.
The place was shut down because an employee tested positive for coronavirus. No one informed us despite the restaurant being shut down for more than 24 hours. We at our reserved time and found a note on the door that explained the situation. Thanks for the anniversary surprise melting pot!
Garrett, our sincere apologies. We dropped the ball with you, no excuses.
Always a lovely evening. The service is always professional and it's nice to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed.
Glad you enjoyed John!
Perfect! No complaints will be going again very soon!
Fantastic. All 4 courses were wonderful. Favorite was chocolate turtle
Glad you enjoyed, thank you for the review Coco!
It was great as always. The server Cara was very knowledgeable and had great suggestions for add ons. It was great to have a fun quiet evening without the kids.
Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed.
Always a great experience. Things are a little different: cheese and chocolate fondue are prepared behind the scenes. The pace of the meal is a little quicker, which is understandable given the challenge to the business model. We fully support the Melting Pot's efforts to adapt to changing times and welcome them back with open arms!
As always the food was excellent. So was the service. Tough to do with all the new conditions due to the virus but I thought our waitress did a great job!!
Glad you enjoyed, thank you for the review!
Cara our server was amazing AGAIN!
We typically go to Melting pot in Dayton, but came back here because of her!
She remembered what we like, how we like it, when we like it. Her timing is perfect.
We’ve had alot of really good servers but she is absolutely outstanding. This is the second time we’ve had her we will continue coming back to this location if she is available..
TinaM, We will be sure to share this with Cara! So happy that you had another enjoyable experience. The fact that you come to us speaks volumes. We appreciate the continued support and can't wait to see you again. -Jarred Wilkins GM
We had a very nice evening at The Melting Pot. My husband and I both felt comfortable with the precautions they took to help keep everyone safe and healthy. The food, beverages, and service were all excellent
LindaandBill, While dining with us your comfort and safety are at the top pf our priorities list. Glad to hear you felt that way here and just wanted to say thank you. We appreciate your time that was taken to leave this review and appreciate your continued support! -Jarred Wilkins GM
This was one of our first dining out experiences since the shutdown. The server was nice. She wore her mask correctly and they took great care to social distance while still being polite and attentive. My one complain and this is minor, is the burner was turned up too high for the chocolate. Things did get VERY hot. Luckily I was able to turn it down, but this is something they might want to be mindful of.
JenB, We will definitely take note to the burner being too hot and will and coach our team members to better monitor this moving forward. I appreciate the time you took to give us your feedback and I 'm pleased to hear that the remainder of your experience was enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again! -Jarred Wilkins GM
This was our first dining out experience post OH shelter at home. It was my birthday & my sons 8th grade graduation celebration. Employees did a nice job making us feel safe. Tables were spaced out. Everyone wore masks. My Family had a really FUN time experimenting with different fondue styles and flavors. It had been 20 yrs since since I had been to a Melting Pot. The concept has held up very well. Great for a teenager!
DeeDee, Thank you so much for your feedback. We are excited to be able to welcome the community back into our restaurant. Knowing that you felt safe and that you had an enjoyable experience means the world to our staff. We look forward to your return and can't thank you enough. -Jarred Wilkins GM
One of favorite places to go! It was great to see all the updates to the dining area and the service was excellent as always.
Thank you for the review!
The intimate dining experience that made Melting Pot so special has been replaced by a casual open-concept quick in-and-out restaurant. Our server was nowhere to be found our entire meal. He introduced himself by showing up at our table and saying “Shawn’s back.” We ordered what we thought was a 2 person meal and it turns out he entered our entire food order as a “single” so my husband and I shared a single meal. When our entree arrived the plate was not so gently dumped on our table and then we were abandoned without an explanation of what was what. Again, the same thing happened during dessert. The chocolate was placed on the burner and he walked away. We ordered the original which has a spoonful of peanut butter that is usually mixed table side by the server. Our chocolate was delivered cold with the peanut butter blob in the center. Lastly, we were given the wrong bill and our server never did return to fix it. We had to flag down another employee to correct it. This was the most disappointing birthday dinner I’ve ever had.
It’s was a great experience and the waitress was on top of it all!
