The restaurant was very understaffed this time. We were made to wait an hour past our reservation time. Once our favorite spot, not any more.
Restaurant was a bit crowded this evening, so it was a bit louder than usual. Thomas was the server....great job. remodel is beautiful :-)
My friend and I took our girlfriends here for Valentine’s Day, we were unaware they had a limited menu, which was fine because we were willing to pay. The waitress treated us poorly. She only came back to give us our courses of the meal, and then to get the bill. Never once did she ask us if we wanted anything more, or how everything was, or fill our waters. And when I paid at the end she told us that next time we should ask if they have their regular menu before coming in. Felt like she gave up on our table because we were a bunch of college kids who were initially put off by the thought of a 200 dollar bill. Disappointing.
We took our 12 year old here for an alone night with her (we have several children). The experience over all was amazing! Cooking the food was so fun. The taste was even better! However, we did have to wait close to 30 minutes for our table (we had reservations). We are absolutely coming again!!!!!
We went for a late Valentine’s dinner and got a table instead of a booth which took away from the ambiance. The food was superb, but our server seemed frazzled and forgot our order, champagne toast and took about 20 minutes between courses.
I usually go there a few times a year for special occasions however I have not been in over two years.. my service was pretty poor to say the least, we requested 2 Cokes and did not get those until we were done with our second course and starting to prepare the 3rd corse I did not get a refill the entire time I was there and our Cokes ended up watered down, the cheese came out and it was warm to start but the burner was never turned on leaving the cheese to get thick and relatively cold.. the desert was definitely the best part of our dinner but the burner was left on high and begin to burn the chocolate I had to find a switch and turn it off myself ... I've always enjoyed my time at The Melting Pot and try to go there anytime the occasion calls for it however i feel it was not what it used to be and I was overall pretty disappointed with the service... at this point I will not be returning to meltingpot.
The food was very good. There was a nice variety to dip/cook in all of the courses. Service was prompt. The atmosphere was fun as our party anticipated actual participation in our dinner. The first course was jumbo shrimp cocktail with a horseradish cocktail sauce but unfortunately, was so hot it was inedible. When we asked our server for other cocktail sauce, she said there wasn't any other. We asked for ketchup and she said they didn't have ketchup. She finally brought some plum sauce. Our other disappointment was our Turtle Sundae chocolate course which when they brought it said they didn't have any candied pecans. Sorry. Could they have offered plain pecans which you can buy at Kroger? The biggest disappointment of all was the bill. With two $12 drinks only, our bill for four persons was $285.00 PLUS a 20% tip. It was an interesting experience but not nearly worth $332.00.
We had the best waitress and everything tasted fantastic. We went for our 8 year anniversary and it was worth every penny!
This has been our go to place for our anniversary every year- we love it. We look forward to it every year. This year, we decided to go on Valentine’s Day. I quickly figured out, though, that going during a holiday was NOT a good idea. The “set” valentines day menu had much smaller portions of food for the same place. I mean the meat plate was tiny. We were jam packed into a back room like sardines with several other couples. It was so warm that we were both sweating and this made the experience very uncomfortable. It was too busy, the cheese never warmed up properly but our server was running around and too busy to notice. We kind of felt like the food was thrown at us and that was it. Very impersonal and rushed which has not been our previous experience here. I’m so sad because this has been our go to spot for years- but I don’t think they are able to handle how busy they’ve gotten and still keep their quality.
Liked the old decor/setup better...food still great!
Waitress was fantastic!!
I quite liked everything, the waitress was really nice, but it took her a while to get food to us, and at the end on the night my boyfriend asked to get our checks split, and she looked at him and said “you’re joking right?” Which I believed was incredibly rude
It’s Valentines Day, they were super busy. We got seated in the bar area with our daughter. So did another family with two young kids. We get it! If there was another section, we would have been put there. But there want. You roll with it. Enjoy the meal.
Unfortunately, a third family next to us hosted an extremely loud and rude young adult who used the F word a dozen times. My husband finally said something and another patron 100% backed him up. Don’t get me wrong, we were not clutching our pearls... this guy was out of line loud for no reason. The guys dad blamed us for sitting at the bar with a kid.
The servers were more than accommodating- before and after the incident. We asked to be moved to avoid more conflict, but there was nowhere to go until dessert. We sat through passive aggressive comments and eventually were able to be seated in a different section.
Coco and Lacey, our servers, were so kind to our daughter. They went above and beyond to make her feel super special and make us feel comfortable.
Management made sure we knew it was a family restaurant and apologized - though it was no fault of theirs whatsoever.
They comped us a dessert plate “add on” that was not necessary, so we payed it forward and sent the same to the gentlemen who backed us up at the bar.
Overall, it was a lovely meal.
Thank you TMP!!!
Everything was good except it took over 4 hours for dinner because they were so busy.
Food was great
It was great evening!
The food was good. We only go to the melting pot once a year- this time we had a $200 check with tiny meal portions- we felt like servings are getting smaller and smaller but the price isn’t changing. The different parts of our meal took a long time to come out. The salads were cut by at least half the size they used to be. They no longer make the cheese and broth at the table, which takes away from the fun of getting to know the server and watch them prepare the meals. Multiple people come out to bring different portions of the meal- so the fun we used to have with our one server is gone. We just aren’t happy with all the changes. Doubt we will be coming back, which is a shame, because we always considered it a special treat. But, not worth the $200 we spent.
Hello Anonymous, I would like to apologize that you did not have a better time with us recently. You can request to have cheese made table side, I am sorry if server did not inform you. The broth has always been delivered to the table already in the pot. Our portion sizes have not changed. We have new plate ware that may make them look smaller but they are the same. Thank you for your feedback, we take all seriously. Best regards, ZH
It is a neat experience but menu is too confusing and you feel like they are just trying to make you spend too much.
The waitress was really good.
We went for our anniversary and it was a great dining experience as usual with roses on the table, candles, and a personalized card that put an emphasis on our speak day. We love didn’t here and highly recommended it for any special and general dining experience.
We are never disappointed at Melting Pot, that's why we often come back. Remodel is beautiful, definitely worth checking out
Our server Shelby was amazing! She took really good care of us. Need more servers like her
food was delicious, service was awesome as always, remodel is beautiful
We decided to visit The Melting Pot to celebrate a birthday. Despite having a reservation for over three weeks, upon arrival we were asked to have a seat until our full party arrived. Once our full party was present, we waited an additional 15 minutes for a table (our group size had reduced by 2 from our reservation... doesn't that make it easier to seat a group?). The hostess at the front was VERY RUDE, told us that we had to wait without any explanation. When we suggested that we just sit at a table nearby that was clearly vacant and would fit our group, she walked away without stating where she was going. When stopped again, she flipped her ponytail and hand at us, laughed and walked toward the back. The front manager must have witnessed this exchange, and immediately came over to talk with us. She attempted to apologize for her employee's behavior and then called another hostess to clear the table. By that time, our initial introduction to The Melting Pot had been ruined.
The front manager assigned our table to Erica, a lovely waitress with an amazing, bubbly demeanor who clearly loves her work. She did an excellent job and patiently explained the menu, our options, and the course progress. Erica was the SINGLE positive experience during our visit.
The food was NOT worth the price for us... we felt we spent well over $200 eating essentially hors d'oeuvres. The Melting Pot attempts to "sell" its overpriced food by stating "the ambiance" and "the experience" are what makes it worth it. We did NOT find it so. Due to all the steaming pots on each table, the restaurant is VERY humid and uncomfortable. There were no circulating fans or any identifiable efforts to reduce the temperature.
Unless The Melting Pot invests its money in better trained, more professional staff and offers a better menu with dining selections that are actually worth the price - I'm not confident the restaurant will be in business much longer.
Had to wait 15-20min despite a reservation, but apart from that great fun, good service.
Pretty good experience. The restaurant has been updated but cocktail drinks took a long time to receive from the bar. And what really ruined the meal was the over bearing annoying outdated jazz music. It was super static-y over cheap speakers, like a radio station that isn’t tuned in. And it was too loud. They need to provide a different type of music with a clearer sound or else ditch the music completely.
The Melting Pot has been our special place for years. We went there every date night. The best part was the feeling created by the ambience. Well, thanks to their remodel, that's long gone. We always asked to be seated in the dead end hall called Lovers' Lane because it was the most private section of the restaurant. That's gone. Thankfully, the very back of the restaurant still has some of that original feel. As others have said, the noise level is certainly greater than before the remodel.
Bottom line, it's still special... Just not as cozy and romantic as before.
Service was excellent! I’ve been here multiple times and this was by far the best experience I’ve had at the Melting Pot. Server was very attentive and always had a smile on her face. Never once complained when we asked for extra sauce or dippers. She made us feel like we were VIP guests.
Good date spot. Fairly over priced in my opinion. Really good atmosphere and everything tasted great. Service was good but the entire meal took just over 2 hours. That was a little long for me.
We got the 4 course meal and shared it.. It was still too much for for two people. We spend over three and a half hours there. There was significant wait time between courses. Way too long! It was hard to keep kids entertained waiting for their next course to come. The best thing about this place is their dessert. I could skip the other food and only come for dessert. The other food is just okay.
Wonderful date night!
A little disappointed with the remodel. It has lost the intimate feel it once had. Overall we enjoyed the evening though.
When they remodeled they took away the cozy feel. Opening up the space in their renovation really affected the noise levels. There no barriers for the sound anymore. Food is still top-notch.
Always a fun experience and always able to try something new.
The new layout leaves little to be desired for private conversation. There is only one booth in the entire place, the rest looks like a swanky cafeteria. The cheese pot was great, but the bread served with was stale. The salad was warm, wilted, and had no very little dressing. The meat for the oil was good quality. Fruit served with the chocolate pot looked old, but the other goodies were tasty. Our sever was good. Overall, just ok, but we won’t go back. Will take a stab at fondue at home instead.
We waited over 30 minutes past our reservation with no apologies from hostess or manager. The ambiance completely changed with the remodel, we prefer the old setup much more because it felt much more intimate.
Our server was amazing!! Always have great service at this Melting Pot.
Pretty slow service. We arrived before the dinner rush with a reservation. We were sat quickly and the host took our drink orders. However that was the end of the efficiency. We did not see our server for at least 10 minutes after we got sat. Took even longer for those drinks to arrive.
The food was OK. Nice that the dippers were unlimited. They no longer allow the cast iron cooking method which was what we wanted and it was still on the menu.
Dessert was tasty. But was kind of ruined by the fact that we had been there for THREE hours already. I get that it is an experience that requires cooking the entree yourself but the slow service between courses was just rough.
We had a great experience! This was our first time having fondue. We are now very fond of fondue.
All 3 of us in our party got the steak lovers and the meat wasn't as good as it has been in the past.
My husband planned a melting pot date for my 40th birthday. We had a lovely time. The food and service was great. In comparison with other melting pot restaurants, the physical space was not quite as intimate as we have been accustomed to. Our server, however, made sure to take great care of us, giving me a birthday card, a specially decorated dessert, and birthday chocolate covered strawberries to take home!
