Amazing and fun!
The food was great and so were the drinks. However, we were sat between two very loud tables that somewhat infringed on our experience.
We had never been and didn’t know what to expect . Our waitress was very helpful and suggested things for us . We ended up doing all theee . Cheese, meat and chocolate . It was all awesome! We look forward to going back .
This was the absolute worst Melting pot I’ve ever been to. They were not busy at all but we waited almost 4 hours for everything. We know to expect at least two hours as it is fondue. However we were left waiting so long after ending each course and when I went to find a manger there was no servers anywhere. Finally the manager came and just said they are short staffed, no sorry or anything. The manager seemed drunk and I’m not exaggerating that. She was slurring her words and did nothing but stare at us when we explained the horrible dinner we had. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, this place needs a revamp in management, staff and cleanliness.
Loved the food, customer service, and atmosphere!
I’m a huge fan of the restaurant, the concept, and the overall experience. To friends and coworkers I am considered free marketing for the restaurant. However my experience this time was less than favorable. I showed up 15 min prior to my scheduled reservation time they were running just a bit behind so the hostess indicated that we would be seated closer to our allocated time. Great I understand no worries. This issue that I have with people showing up after my party and getting seated before me. They even had a guy claim he had a reservation which no one there could find and he was never asked to provide an email confirmation or anything of the sort. His party got seated before mine. I use open table to make reservations because it is easy and convenient as well as being able to receive email confirmation for those times that glitches do happen. So with everything going on I waited about 30 min past my reservation time because essentially my table was taken by a party claiming to have had a reservation that was never found. Second irritation was with the server although she was very polite she was incredibly slow. We waited extremely long for drinks, we waited even longer for refills to the point my date drank my water because she had not replenished his glass. The area around my table meaning the floor was filthy. My dessert was delivered with a spoon that still had an green onion scallion stuck to it that was now covered in my white chocolate. I did not report that to our server because at that point I was done with the whole experience and ready to go home. I love the restaurant but you have got to do better because if that’s not going to happen then I will have to find a new venue for my yearly birthday extravaganza....
First time to The Melting Pot. Service was very slow and ended up eating my ice just to have something to drink since we never could flag someone to get more drink. Not sure what the normal time spent here is, but it seemed excessively slow. From sit down to walking out the door we were there for 2 hrs 45 min. Just a bit longer than I care for with dinner. Cheese at beginning was really good and desert was also really good. The cooking our own food part in the middle was a bit more effort than I cafe for and even timing the cooking for each bite it seemed I could never really get things cooked quite right. It was a different experience, but, at $50 a person roughly I’d just assume go to a top level steak house and enjoy fantastically prepared food.
It was amazing as always. We come for every anniversary...always the same excellent food, excellent service, excellent time!
39th anniversary
We had an excellent birthday celebration dinner! Lots of time to talk, in a quiet, secluded booth. Our server was wonderful and very helpful - we hadn't been to Melting Pot in a long time. But we'll be back soon! Thanks.
The food was absolutely wonderful! Our waiter was so busy we actually saw a manager more often than our server. Our order was accurate but spaced out a little too much between courses. We were seated near several larger and louder groups so conversation between just the two of us was difficult at times. Overall a great experience just 2 hours for a full meal due to being so spaced apart and not being able to talk made it slightly less than a perfect evening.
Requested a booth in the bar so we could watch the NCAA Men’s Basketball Semi-Finals and their TV set-up was not conducive to enjoy the broadcast. Besides that, the waiter was good, service and food were also good.
Add some more tv’s in the bar area and we’ll be back.
The worst time at the melting pot ever. We go 3-4 times a month, and order the exact same thing. Cheese didn’t taste right, the burner took too long to heat and affected the taste of our meat course, and the manager kept interrupting our conversation with unnecessary questions and comments. It was unbelievable.
We had not been there before and wanted to try it. We really enjoyed ourselves, but it was a little expensive so we won’t go again very soon
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at The Melting Pot this past weekend. I made a reservation online and not only was service prompt as soon as we got there, but we were actually given a private booth without asking. Our server was very pleasant and everything tasted amazing. I give the whole experience 5 stars.
It was a great experience, and probably our favorite date night yet!
Our experience at The Melting Pot was both disappointing and frustrating. I was taking a friend out for a late birthday celebration. I made the reservation for 6:45 p.m. The restaurant was not busy. Indeed it appeared almost empty. We were not seated immediately which surprised me because I had made the reservation ahead. Once seated, we sat there for a good 30 to 40 minutes before anyone came to serve us or take our order. When the waiter arrived he did not apologize for the wait or give an explanation. We ordered wine with our dinner because the restaurant was running a special, $5/glass rather than the usual price. It was a good 15 minutes later when our wine arrived and not by our waiter but by the bartender. One sip and I knew I had been given the wrong wine. It took several minutes before we could run our waiter down and explain what had happened. He apologized and told us someone else probably had my wine. The entire service was achingly slow. It was another 15 minutes before we got our salad. When our waiter finally brought the cheese for the fondue. It was not melting like it should have. Finally, he realized the pot was completely dry and out of water. After removing the pot from our table, I told my friend he must be new to the establishment only to find out later that he rather boasted that he had been at the restaurant for nine years. The entire meal lasted almost three hours. I was expecting no more than two. And the final frustration came at the end when he was unaware that I had reserved the restaurant as a birthday celebration for my friend. Our waiter did tell us he was rushing around serving another table but to me that is no excuse for not being more attentive to us. I am rather a patient and understanding person, and yes, we are human and make mistakes. But "Mike" really dropped the ball on this one. I still can't believe he has been working at this restaurant for nine years. Very poor service. Very unhappy camper.
Portions are very small for the price. Service was poor and not attentive.
The server didn't have much of a personality, but the food was great!
sad that our table warmer did not function and I had to stand in the middle of the dining experience while they repaired it. One pot was working and we waited for the next to re-heat...appologies but for over $400, no comp. of any kind. ..large room with my kids and bridal party with horrible language around my kids and in-laws and beyond r-rated theme to their conversation....long evening waiting for table repair and for the money, could have had an incredible FOOD experience at Ocean Prime
Amazing martinis and cute birthday add ons
Always a pleasure! The owner is extremely nice and pleasant! (: Cravings of their delicious food and great service brings me back every time.
What a lovely place to share a meal with friends or your spouse.loved the private room:)
Very nice time!!!
The Melting Pot never disappoints. Excellent food and service.
My wife has been wanting to go back to the Melting Pot for years, so when my daughter and her family came into town we decided to go. Although, the kids loved the experience and our server was very kind and helpful with the kids, the very costly three hour event was not worth the money. Even with 4 kids meals we spent almost $300 on the evening. The restaurant was not very busy at all when we arrived but still had to wait for a table and then when our dinner took three hours after our server said it should take two hours for the 4 course meals, we were just worn out and ready to leave. Had there not been long waits between courses, I’m sure the dinner wouldn’t have taken so long. Maybe next time we’ll just go with the Cheese and Chocolate Fondue courses. Not sure how the Melting Pot can continue to compete with all the other choices in the Indy area, the place needs a major update, getting old looking inside.
Overall everything was great except for the LOUD group behind/next to us. They forgot to use their inside voices.
Had a great time with friends and family. A little expensive, but delicious and well worth an occasional splurge.
If you want privacy and quiet request that when making reservations. We were in a big room with a table full of Neanderthals Saturday.
We were seated right on time with our reservation. While the service waiter was very friendly I believe they were short handed. We received our water and menus promptly. Our dink order took about 15 minute to be put in and then another 15 to receive. The food was good and fresh but not very plentiful. It took almost three hours for the meal to be complete.
Bottom line is good service for being short handed and busy. The food is good but not plentiful.
Our waitress was Danae. She was so sweet, informative, attentive and just an all around great waitress. She answered all of our questions and really knew the menu well. I loved the intimacy of the small booth we were given. This was a great restaurant experience!!!
Great food! Price is you get what you pay for. Five stars!
Meal took way too long. Waitress was very rude and sarcastic and would only come to table every 45 minutes. Staff as a whole was rude. Food was great but will not be returning.
We enjoy the food and getting together with family. We went there for my daughters 26th birthday, but unlike other great restaurants like Fogo De Chao , who give the person a free dessert, the Melting Pot gives a piece of paper saying happy birthday. Also, no coupons at this Melting Pot. We brought one we though was an authentic one but owner said it wasn't and said he doesn't do coupons. We wish he did as we would come more often.
Wonderful food and great environment! This was our first time and we can’t wait to come again.
Food was incredible! Never felt rushed! Waitress was very nice.
The food was delicious, out servers were great. We really enjoyed our girls night out! Can’t wait to come back!
My son’s birthday which they never mentioned.
We love The Melting Pot and have visited for our anniversary for the last 5 years. In years past it has been fantastic all around with 5 star ratings. This year we had to drop the rating a tad because the service was slow and we felt ignored. Our attendant was friendly but not quite as attentive as previous visits. In previous years, we have been in and out in as little as an hour, up to as long as an hour and a half. This year it took 2 hours and 15 min and much of it was spent sitting and waiting. The food was great as usual and our secluded booth was romantic as is typical. Service was just a little lacking this time.
Sooo expensive for what you get. Fun experience but, hard process to follow. At first I thought it was me not understanding but then I overheard two other tables with similar questions.
Dessert was delicious though.
