The Melting Pot - Buffalo Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated Valentine's Day here - Wonderful Time! I'd enjoyed fondue several times, but it was a first for my boyfriend. The food was delicious, the only complaint was the dippers were heavy on the bread but light on the veggies, and extra dippers were removed each course. We would have enjoyed them with the broth as well, vs the mushrooms and potatoes that were served. I would recommend you ask them to be left, as I'm sure they would.
We had an outstanding valentine's date night. Our server Oz at the Buffalo Melting Pot was fun and knowledgeable and made the experience that much better. This style of dining enables the customer to get tastes of so many different items and you leave feeling full. Personally we split the 4-course Fondue Delight and it was superb! The sauces/toppings you get for the different items were so tasty, we loved the curry spread and the green goddess the best. With the delicious flavor of the seasoned broth fondue underneath the flavor of everything you cook, you get so much variety and it all compliments each other wonderfully. We will definitely be back!
Thanks again Oz!
Out waitress was very nice but she was new and overwhelmed. Drinks weren’t refilled, spoons for dips came close to the end of our main entree, and there were prolonged times of absence. Chocolate pots came out ice cold. WE turned the burners on to heat them up. We go there a fair amount and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had... very disappointed.
The food tasted terrible and the waiter brought us our food and didn't come back to check on us. My husband ordered a long island ice tea and he brought him a mohito looking drink.. then he ordered another one and it was right but we still got charged for both. We had to get another waitress to find our server and she had no idea who he was. We would of had at least 4 more cocktails but we never got the chance to put a order in. Finally at the end my husband asked for a shot and he charged us 7 dollars.
The service and drink menu were lovely, however the value was not there. It was far too expensive for what we went for - a simple night out dessert. I would not go again simply for the prices - I would rather go elsewhere. The noise level is also high despite the dining rooms being separated.
It was my birthday. Our waitress sat us in this cozy little private corner away from the noise. The waitress brought a card, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne on the house. She was so sweet and attentive, even the manager came over to wish me a happy birthday and take pictures for us. The food was amazing and perfect portions even though I ate way too much of the pretzel bread. It was the perfect night.
We visited the Melting Pot on a special price night. It was our second time there so we knew the routine. We had friends with us were there for the first time and it seemed a little rushed and they were slightly confused. Besides that, the food was great and we enjoyed our time there!
We have visited this location a couple times a year since it opened. Every other experience was CONSISTENTLY GREAT. This one was NOT! They have changed the process of how they prepare some food. Cheese was not prepared table side. It was brought out pre-melted, but cool, took forever to heat and was lumpy and tasted funny once it did. Similar experience with the chocolate, waiting 10 minutes for it to heat, only after the manager finally turned up the temperature. The waitress was not very good (another change from past visits). Manager tried to explain, and offered to comp part of our meal. In the end, we just hope they make some major readjustments or this restaurant will fall off our list of favorites.
Just a fair value at $50 pp for 3 people sharing 2 of the 4 course dinners (including 2 wines and a soft drink)
Service was really attentive, friendly and certainly explained the menu and routine for ordering.
Food is OK and a novelty, but it gets boring to eat after a while.
OK once, but wouldn't return
I have not been to this establishment since it opened, and I was very disappointed. The food was subpar, skimpy and dull. Veggies were stale and were not presented in a manner that reflects the price. Bread was hard, not the freshest. Fruit was not very fresh, apples were not crisp and strawberrys were mushy. I was very disappointed in the presentation, and wish I would have went to another restaurant to spend my money. Very disappointed as it was a special occasion, and we left with a bad taste.
We came for our 3 year anniversary, we’ve been to melting pot before, always love it. The waitress recommended a wine for me, it was delish. The waitress was nice and friendly, her name is Shaunua or Shauna.. can’t read how its spelled, all in all it was a good time.
We got the anniversary special so it was a good value for the amount of food we got. We had a reservation at 6:30 but they were able to sit us early at 5:45. Not many people in the restaurant esp for Christmas Eve. Our service took three hours would be my only complaint. I know it’s a longer meal time but with a toddler and an infant I would have hopes to cut that time in half. The waiter was very polite and knowledgeable but he was forgetful and slow.
I have to say I was really disappointed Again. I dine here A lot and the last 2 times I went there were screaming kids so loud that I couldn't hear myself talking. The cheese and chocolate fondue was burnt and our waiter was not very friendly and attentive. This place is expensive to eat at and I would expect a much better quality atmosphere for dining.
