About The Melting Pot - Boise
At the Melting Pot we specialize in fun and interactive four-course fondue dinners, great for every occasion. The fondue experience begins with a savory cheese fondue prepared tableside, followed by your choice of fresh salad. For the main event, choose from a wide variety of tantalizing meats, seafood, and fresh vegetables, certain to please even the most particular of palates. Then cook them tableside in one of our savory broths or even in traditional oil. All of our entrée selections are paired with our famous house dipping sauces, including the garden fresh green goddess, our sweet teriyaki glaze, and the tangy ginger plum sauce. And just when you think it couldn't get better, the grand finale: a choice of decadent chocolate fondues presented with a platter of sweet bits for dipping.

The Melting Pot - Boise Ratings and Reviews
To overall experience was enjoyable. The waitress, cute blonde haired, glasses wearing college student, was amazing. The bill was a little steep for my liking so probably won't be back as often as I'd like. But all in all a nice place for a special birthday treat.
It was lucky that half of our group had been in before as the server did not explain the complicated menu. Advice would be- if you have never eaten here before be sure to ask the server to walk you through the course and menu for a better experience. The food was great as always.
We had a wonderful New Years dinner! Melting Pot had an exclusive menu filled with Cajun flavor and inspired flavors from New Orleans. It was our favorite menu so far. I highly recommend for a date night, special occasion or just for a really delicious experience.
Went to the Melting Pot for New Year's Eve and had a great time. Service was great and so was the food. The food is fairly expensive but it is also entertaining and worth it if you are willing to take the time to enjoy the experience. The cheese and chocolate fondues are my favorite.
We have been to the Melting Pot numerous times and the experience is always good. On the night we were there, our waiter was a young man named Bergen. He was fantastic, and worked very hard and was very sociable. The food was great as always. Just remember if you go to allow yourself at least a couple of hours to truly enjoy yourself .
We have visited the Melting Pot on Christmas Eve for many years. This year we were less than pleased with our visit. To our surprise, they no longer have a full bar; just beer and wine. For some reason, carrots are no longer part of the fondue experience but tomatoes are. The whole experience seemed to have cheapened. On a bright note, our waitress was exceptional. Had it not been for her it would have been a disastrous night. I doubt we will return next Christmas Eve.
We had a great time, the service was outstanding. The only complaint we had was the noise level, it gets pretty loud in there when there are a lot of folks dining. As we had a later reservation, it thinned out before we left and wasn't so bad then.
All in all, a wonderful experience and one we hope to do again.
We took our three grandchildren, ages 13, 7, and 6, to the Melting Pot for an early Christmas celebration. Poor decision on our part. Because it is so very expensive--check out their prices before you go!--we ended up only ordering cheese and desert fondues. The cheese was average, at best. And the chocolate was also pretty fair. The young server, while obviously well instructed on what to tell us about how it all worked, talked very fast and seemed more interested in getting us to make a quick decision than she was in helping us truly enjoy our night out. Our suggestions are to study their menu on-line closely before you book a table, check out the other many (more affordable) choices for great food in the downtown Boise area, and, if you decide to go to the Melting Pot anyway, keep your fingers crossed you'll have a better time than we did.
Our waitress was no personable at all during our visit. We explained to her that we hadn't been to melting pot for a few years so briefly went over the menu with us. When it came time to explain how long the food would need to set to cook, we had to ask her for directions instead of her offering. We fortunately heard the waitress from the table next to ours explaining how things should be cooked and went off of what she said. It was a disappointing visit.
This was our first time to The Melting Pot. We’ve heard good things about it but unfortunately, our service was so awful that it made the whole experience negative. Our waitress didn’t exlain much about the whole process and kept forgetting things. We were completely shocked when the meat came out raw! We had no idea we had to cook our own meat after asking several times when ordering what the “cooking style” meant. We waited over 15 min to get our drinks. She then was about to take our order and couldn’t find a pen so said she’d be right back and literally (no exaggeration) was gone for 20 min. Then she brought the cheese fondue awhile after that but had forgotten to turn the hot plate on so after she poured the cheese n beer into the cooking bowl and tried stirring it, nothing happened. She kept splashing the liquid everywhere and we waited another 15 min for it to get hot and melted. The ended up bringing the salads before the cheese when she realized how long it was taking to heat up. They were tiny!! She kept forgetting the wine option my husband had chosen with each course and we waited for another long time to get the main course. By the time the broth was boiling and we had to cook our meat, little by little, we had already been there 2 hours. Several other tables had come after us and were finished before us and they also had the 4 course option. We were seated by 8:10 and didn’t leave til 10:30. We were the last people in the restaurant. We ended up missing a Xmas party we had planned to go to after cuz it got so late. We were excited to try something new for our anniversary and ended up being quite disappointed. We usually try to give the benefit of the doubt and not complain, but this was exceptionally bad.
We've been to many fondue places, and in Boise this seems to be the only one. Overall we had a great time, we never felt rushed and the waiter was really helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and really fair for what you got. We had a great date night and would recommend it again.
The food was overall very good. Our server was pretty lazy and seemed to be disinterested in us being there. Very costy at about $50/person. Would have been highly recommended overall but our server and the service was worse than I get at IHOP at 3 am. Worth trying once though.
I highly recommend the melting pot for any occasion! The atmosphere was great and the staff was super informative, professional & friendly. We wanted to have a nice night out for our anniversary and the melting pot was the perfect place to spend some quality time together it was very quiet, and felt very private in our seating area, the food was AMAZING! They gave us an anniversary card as well. The perfect amount of food, highly highly recommend! Worth every penny!!! Thank you melting pot for an amazing night
The atmosphere is very intimate and comfortable. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. We went with their four-course dinner option and it did not disappoint. My only complaint (and it is a minor detail) is that the entree course was a little more laborious than we would have liked. Perhaps that is because we went with a food that required a little more attention. Everything else was top-notch.
My wife and I celebrated our 15th Anniversary ! We were looking for something "special", fun, and intimate... and The Melting Pot didn't disappoint! Our service was fantastic and the food was fresh and full of flavor. Because I booked through open table and let them know it was our anniversary, we were even given a Happy Anniversary card when we were seated. Great spot and we would recommend it!
Melting Pot has that upscale look, but doesn't feel like it; it's comfortable, welcoming, and far from feeling "snoody." The service was fantastic! Our server was fast, knowledgeable, and quick-witted in response to our terrible jokes and stories. After stuffing our faces full of delicious cheeses, garlic flavored cooking sauces, and great meats, we'll definitely be back.
We went there for my birthday, we had an okay experience. the waiter was great at first then it seemed like he just didnt want to deal with us anymore. he also didnt let us know that would count split up the bottle of wine when we specifically ordered a bottle to spilt. i was pretty disappointed that me and my friends didnt really enjoy themselves overall.
The Melting Pot is one of my favorite restaurants! I love having the full dining experience. Each course gets better and better. The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and the recipes going into the pot. I really enjoyed the wine flight with our 4 course meal. Yummy yummy! I've never had a poor experience here and will continue to visit the Melting Pot for special occasions and a fun evening.
It had been a while since I had eaten at Melting Pot. The food was delicious, fresh and served table side. I forgot how much fun the restaurant was, getting to cook and dip your food. Everything tasted great....and the chocolate desert fondues....yummy! I will definitely not let so much time pass until my next visit!
