The Melting Pot - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We were well taken care of at this visit for my daughter's 11th birthday. There's a lot more interaction at dinner at this restaurant since we work together to time our food cooking and share the food with each other. We enjoyed the cheese fondue, loved the Big Eats and the milk chocolate fondue for dessert. The Green Goddess dip is our favorite with veggies as well as many of the meats. Our waitress brought us refills. This is a favorite special occasion restaurant for my family.
The quality of the food is def below par. The bread brought out was the day old version of bread. The veggies look like they have been sitting on a counter for a week. The steak meal brings 3 types of below grade beef that all taste the same. My daughter loves
To go every year on her birthday which is why we came back after last years terrible overpriced dinner. I do not recommend this place to anyone , esp for the price!
We had a 7:30 PM reservation but arrived early; we had to wait until exactly 7:30 because there had been "a lot of walk-ins" and they were short-staffed on a weekday. We were asked about our drink choices right away and they arrived promptly, but after the pot was put down for the first course (cheese fondue) we waited...and waited...for the server to arrive with the cheese and the foods for dipping. (The wait was so long that all the water in the lower section of the pot had evaporated while we were still eating that course, and the fondue burned a little.) The entree course arrived promptly after we had finished the first course, and the dessert course (chocolate fondue) arrived promptly after that. Overall a pretty good service experience. The selection of entree items was excellent (we had the "Big Night Out"), and of course since we cooked it ourselves at the table it was done just the way we like. I have been to the Bellevue Melting Pot twice now, and the Tampa, Florida, location once, and I would recommend this to friends and family when a fun time and a change of pace are needed...as long as one has the funds. (With drinks, extra dessert, tip, etc. the bill for two of us was over $150.)
Unless this restaurant removes auto gratuity I would not recommend! Absolutely the worst service I have ever received. We celebrated New Years Eve with a five course meal without even being offered a drink. Our server was annoyed we had never been to the establishment and had to explain the dining process! Food was exceptional and support staff were appropriate. I would like to take this opportunity to wish our server a Happy New since she didn’t seize the opportunity to wish us one! Better luck next year!
Even though it was only 4 pm, and not many others in the restaurant, it seemed a long time before we received water and attention from our waitress to order drinks. AND - drinks did not arrive until AFTER the first course was served. The food was delivered, but missed part of the order - which was brought later - after we ate all the cheese fondue. [The waitress was kind enough to offer to remove one of the meat platters from our bill to make up for this oversight.] Overall, we made the best of it and had fun, but the service could have been better, and they really need to resolve the bar and kitchen back-up, if that is what caused delays. ALSO - the bread served for the gluten free option was HORRID. For the price, and with so many good gluten free bakeries in the area, they really should obtain GF bread from a better source.
A wonderful experience and amazing customer service !!
The food is always outstanding and well worth the price. It’s an event as much as a meal and we so enjoy it. We don’t come often, as it is expensive, we save it for special occasions. But this place makes those special occasions super special. THANK YOU!!
A lovely evening out. The food is great and the drinks are hand crafted and really good! My only minor issues are that it is a little too dark in there to read the many things on the menu and the add on to the bill for the increased Seattle wages. I don't like surprises on my bill. Other than that, a lovely evening out.
I had booked the reservation for 3. When someone called me to up sale the strawberries, I change the reservation to 5 . When we showed up they had the reservation still for 3. So we had to wait while they fixed a stove for us at a table. When we got there the strawberries were already there where they sat for the whole dinner. I felt they should have been brought out to him as a special thing for his birthday after dinner. We had to keep telling our son that he could not have them until after dinner. Then the other burner went out and we had to change tables. Then the waiter accidentally knocked over a wine bottle and broke one of the wine glasses that my husband had all over his hand with red wine and broken glass. He was fine and went to the bathroom to clean up. They cleaned it all up. But we had to ask about 10mins later if they would kindly bring us a replacement glass of wine. The food was great and we had a great time, but for a $400+ dinner just maybe expected a little better service.
The entire experience was amazing! I must comment on our wonderful service including the bar tender. We arrived early and had to wait roughly 5 minutes at the bar. The bar tender had just enough time to make us a drink. I had the lemonade berry mojito. It was AMAZING! I strongly recommend it. He adds sprite to make it sweet and the muddled berries make it amazing.
I was very happy with our experience, we went for our 6 month wedding anniversary and they let me drop off a necklace and flowers before hand to have at the table when we showed up. My wife was extremely surprised and we were both very happy. It's a unique experience, if you are thinking about going plan for atleast 1.5 to 2 hours. It takes a while, but it's very entertaining and the food is very good!
I am a returning customer to the melting pot. They have amazing food in a fun 4 course experience. I chose this restaurant for our one year anniversary. However, this was honestly the most awkward dining experience I have ever had. The waitress was completely unprofessional. She did not know how to pronounce the menu items correctly and was not able to answer any questions we had about cooking styles. She did say she just started, I'm sure she would greatly benefit from more training however she was definitely not ready to be working independently.
Overall a good experience but not likely to return. My boyfriend and I went to celebrate my birthday. We were first turned off by either the manager or shift lead who was very apparently stressed out and rude to his staff. After we seated at our table, a nice waitress took our drink orders. We found on the menu a 3% surcharge charged to all parties regardless of size to account for minimum wage increases. We kind of snickered and thought oh well. We each did the 4 course. My boyfriend got a Caesar salad which did not taste anything like a traditional salad. We enjoyed the appetizer and dessert and were ok-satisfied with the main course. A nice selection on our plates but not nearly enough to fill us up. After our meal we received our bill which was correct. My boyfriend handed our waitress his card and when she came back with the slip to sign, we noticed it was $80 more than our bill was supposed to be. We realized she charged our card on someone else's table. She apologized and went to fix. She came back and noted the new receipt and to let her know if we had any questions. This new receipt was about $15 less than our original bill, and we were charged $10 for 'aqua pana'. We had tap water to drink so I'm not sure if this was a mistake or if they really charge $10 for tap water. By this time we were just ready to leave so we signed and left. Good food and a good date, but I would much rather buy my own fondue kit and do it at home.
Always a great place for a special evening. Excellent wait staff and managers make for a memorable experience. Take your time and enjoy the ambience. Lots of dishes and cooking styles to choose from. Great for children and choosy dinners too. Gluten free options.
I was SO disappointed with my experience at the Melting Pot. I had always wanted to go because the fondue experience sounded fun and I was anticipating it being the perfect setting for a fancy night out. It was the exact opposite experience- cheesy, low-class, unprofessional. The food was horrible (bland with low-quality ingredients ), the waiting staff were lackluster high schoolers, and the bill was $135 (which I would’ve been fine paying had it been the upscale experience I was expecting). The tax was also over 10% and they charge an additional 3% surcharge to account for the increased minimum wage. All in all, do not go!
The manager was amazing. I would say that the dessert dippers could be if a higher quality. It tasted like lower quality items vs higher class and you all need to-go containers for when people want to take home the broth.
But overall it was a fantastic experience and I am excited to come back.
We planned on going to Melting Pot for a nice, romantic anniversary dinner. We did not experience that at all. Upon arriving, one of the hostess asked another about where we were initially going to sit. She responds to the other girl,”just put them in the regular rotation. It will get them out a lot faster” we were seated in between two families. On one side, the family was constantly standing up, taking pictures of each other, and the food and moving so much that the bench seats were shaking, making it very distracting to concentrate on anything else. It was not romantic to constantly have someone’s butt inches away from our faces, and the flash of a camera constantly blinding you. The food was sub par, and they ran out of the beer my husband ordered. Our server, Aiden, was the only positive thing about our experience. He was kind, friendly, and did his job with ease (even if it was only his 5th day on the job). We will not be returning to that location, and would NOT recommend it to anyone.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, for anything. It starts with the parking. There is a garage but once you are parked it is not clear how to most easily get to the restaurant. The process of ordering is somewhat confusing. Once you battle through the ordering process the food is okay. I wanted to like it more than I did because it was a special occasion and it was expensive. The service was good. The worst part was the bill. There was a 3% surcharge added that we were completely unaware of. The surcharge is a political statement about providing the employees with a living wage, $11.00 an hour. I will never return to this restaurant and would strongly discourage anyone from dining there. It is not worth it.
