The Melting Pot - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We went after the Seahawks game and easily found street parking. The restaurant was not too busy, but we had to wait for the hostesses to figure out where to seat us and another couple. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The dinner took between 90 to 120 min to eat, without dessert. We enjoyed the cheese fondue and had a variety of meats. The chocolate fondue looked really yummy, but we were tired and didnt feel like it that night. We'll have to have it next time.
Great service and the food was delicious as always. My only issue is that they now apply a 3% service charge without any explanation as to why it was applied, and they started charging extra for any broth option other than the basic one. It was unexpected to get an extra $7 on the bill for a broth option that really didn't seem to be $7 better than the basic.
You go in knowing it is a more expensive dining experience, but the overall menu price increases, paying between $7 and $10 extra for only slightly different broth options, and a non-optional and unexplained 3% service charge makes it an even more seldom dining choice. They don't realize that a lot of people will subtract the service charge from the tip, especially if the charge is unexplained.
I made Openable reservations and used Groupon. The atmosphere was just average, food ok,
Service very good.
I won't be coming here again as I could spend just as much at an upscale and enjoy the ambiance.
I might suggest happy hour and one could enjoy cheese fondue and a drink instead of a very expensive dinner not really worth it
The Melting Pot never disappoints. It's pricey but worth it. We go every year as a special occasion before my girlfriend returns to Poland. This last trip may be our best yet. The food was divine, and the whole process is fun.
Make sure to make a reservation in advance, they can fill up fast. Saturday afternoon we tried to make a reservation for Saturday night, and they were full up. Fortunately, we were able to go on Sunday night.
We had a wonderful meal experience at Melting Pot. The service was a bit slow at first but our waitress seemed to be doing double duty. Our food came out timely and everything was absolutely delicious. Even the salad which surprised us. This was our second time in a year so definitely a favorite.
The perfect balance of fancy date night and casual (it's hard to be the ULTIMATE fancy when you're dipping things in cheese ;)) . We've been in several times and every time the food has been amazing. There were a couple times tonight when it felt like we were waiting an abnormally long time with boiling water in front of us and no fondue, but it isn't usually like that. Over all it was a good experience.
Food was surprisingly good and we left there full. It was warm inside and noisy. (Note to folks who easily overheat or don't hear well.) Or maybe go sometime other than a Saturday night, which is when we went. The estimate of 2. 5 hrs for 4 courses was right on the nose for our party of three. I look forward to next time so we can try out additional Fondue recipes.
The manager interrupted my meal 4 times because the paperwork I brought from Groupon didn't have the code on it. I eventually found it on my email with the help of my neices' husband, but kept trying to enjoy my guests and he kept bugging me. Waiter was good and food was Left a $40 tip. I would have paid the total bill, but he didn't ask me that. Was truly mortified
Food was pretty good and more than enough...
a unique dining experience overall...
service was at times very slow, and there were several errors in the orders that had to be corrected causing more delays...
our table was in the smaller back dining area, on a pretty nice, but warm, evening. with cook tops at each table, the room became very hot... to the point that each of us had to leave the table at times just to cool off a bit.
My friend and I went with a Groupon. It had been a very long time since we had gone before, though. The whole experience was wonderful, except our mixed drinks, which we didn't care care for, at all.
The one my friend ordered was of the summer menu and tasty, but very very sweet.
I asked for a gin mojito. It wasn't good. Next time, please have the waiter ask if you're not sure how to make something. It was the worst one I'd ever had, to be honest.
Our experience beyond that was fabulous! Out waiter was very friendly & helpful. My friend and I sat and talked for hours. It was great for us to be able to do that.
Purchased as a Groupon, for 4 people, 1st impression, outside doors filthy, 1st table they tried sitting us at filthy, the groupon was valued at $195 for a 3 course meal,
food WAS NOTHING SPECIAL, was expecting more quality food, for example, the bite size bread, was substandard, for 4 people, we got 2 medium potatoes to split, luckily 14yr and 17 yr old were impressed, and waiter Johnnie was fun and gave us wonderful service, but with drinks/dessert and taxes and min 15% tip, was $111.00 and spent $116 for groupon total $227.00, was absolutely NOT WORTH IT, was very disappointed.
We only come here once in a few years and I'm afraid we're not coming back. The prices went a bit up but the amount of food is so minuscule that we couldn't stop wondering if this was the right order. Cheese fondue was enough to cover only half of the bread and the veggies. Pacific Rim came on a tiny plate, size of an appetizer. Funny though, they now have three fondue forks while for the given amount of food one should be enough.
I'm afraid the service requires some mentioning too. We've waited and waited for our waitress and when she appeared she'd only spend seconds waiting on a table. We needed extra plate and we had to grab another waiter to get it. No water for a long time, refill took forever. Somehow the whole ambiance made us feel very unwelcome. Things have changed a lot in this restaurant and not in a right direction. Food and service do not match up the price.
Terrible service!! Wouldn't recommend to anybody looking to spend that kind of money to cook your own dinner!! Will never eat there again. Had to ask the buss boy if our waitress was still working so we could get fresh drinks after 50 mins sitting there waiting to get some water. Also, 2 1/2 hours for dinner is way too long to be there. Had reservations for 7:30 and didn't finish dinner until 10 pm. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
I took my sister for her birthday and per my request the melting pot had an adorable birthday card for her and a hand made banner with sweet pug dogs all over it! They had a birthday candle in her dessert too! Above and beyond! My sister was thrilled. Our server was funny and easy going. The food was so good and it was fun cooking it ourselves! Loved it!!! A+
We were celebrating both a birthday and a daughter-in-law graduating from the police academy and starting a job. The staggered and slower pace of the meal was just right for talking and sharing good conversation. The food was nicely varied between courses and the waiter was very good at explaining how things work and what everything was. Very pleasant dining experience.
The Endless Fondue was excellent and a fairly good value. Our server ignored is most of the evening, with us having to flag her down multiple times after waiting 15+ minutes. She would take an order from one member of the party and then leave without checking to see if anyone else wanted something. This meant flagging her down again. As each member of our party has been a server, we tried many techniques to help her but nothing worked. The restaurant was FREEZING. I was shivering with cold. When I ordered coffee to warm me up, she brought me lukewarm, been in the carafe a long time coffee. I asked for it to be warmer and she just topped it off with more lukewarm.
We were disappointed. The food was average but definitely not worth the price. The dessert was the most disappointing. The chocolate fondue was the consistency and taste of Hershey's chocolate syrup - yes, the kind you put on ice cream as a kid. If it wasn't so pricey it may have been acceptable.
