The Melting Pot - Austin - Northwest
Food is always superb. Dining experience is slow. Was there for a little over two hours.
I like the Melting Pot. My whole family does. We get there a couple times a year. Usually we are wowed by the service. The staff is attentive and anticipatory. It's expensive, so expect service much better than Chili's, etc.
Mealtime, due to the nature of the "melting pot" usually takes a couple of hours, and it's fun. Lots of time to talk and socialize.
Of all the times I've been, this last visit was just, eh. I have one complaint. A guest spilled their drink on my table. We laughed it off and requested some towels to clean up. Our waitress brought 5 paper napkins. I cleaned up the mess using those soaked napkins and two linen napkins while she disappeared. At first I thought to get more napkins? A mop? Nope, she returned like nothing happened so I placed the trash in front of her. She got the hint? No. We had a damp floor for the entire meal.
However, that's the ONLY time something like that has happened and because it was a celebration, we didn't let her poor service ruin our evening or perception of the restaurant. This time.
We feel like family at Melting Pot. Even after being gone so long we are welcomed and thoroughly enjoy the experience. Thank you Holly for the Anniversary experience!
Our server was great. The whole experience was outstanding. It was very quiet until someone showed up with a toddler who was loud. I don’t believe it’s a place for kids, kills the mojo. Overall, Melting Pot is great; great food, service, ambiance.
I always have a great visit, and my favorite thing is to bring a newbie with me. Our server was amazing and super kind. My only issue was the table across from us. They were loud, and goofing around. At one point they were sword fighting with their skewers. If that's not enough, I found out that the main girl being loudest actually works at that location! She was talking to our server about "not wanting to come in for her next shift". It was frustrating enough knowing that I was paying almost $200 and my date was not getting the full experience, but to learn it was be an employee made it that much more frustrating. I might just make the trip to San Antonio from now on.
7th year wedding anniversary. We have been coming here since I proposed in 2011. The menu changed and the dishes since we came last year, but the same relaxing atmosphere. Of course we will be coming back again.
For 3 people it's $200. That's shockingly expensive. My daughter loves it for her birthday, and that's the only reason I go.
We enjoyed our family outing, but the only good food was the cheese fondue, and we left stinking like smoke!
Had a great experience! Definitely plan to go back.
Going to the melting pot was such a great experience. It was my family's first time and our server really helped walk us through everything. She really knew her stuff! Food was delicious and our server was always timely with each course. My only complaint would be the hosts. It was a bad impression when we first walked through the door and were given attitude and they said nothing to us as we left. Everything else was absolutely wonderful, though.
It was great all around.
Very romantic and beautiful atmosphere
Had a fanfreakingtastic birthday dinner for my husband at the MP this past weekend. We made sure to make a reservation, as they usually are packed for weekend dinner. Our server was friendly and attentive. Food was great, and cocktails and mocktails were flowing. There was so much food, we had leftovers! Would definitely go again!
Portions bigger that we were expected. Good experience cooking your own food :)
Birthday dinner for our middle-schooler. Food was yummy, all the kids enjoyed it. The staff were attuned to a table with kids, which we really appreciated. Overall we were taken care of and had a happy evening.
Had a great time for a birthday celebration, enjoyed everything. It is a bit pricey which is why we wouldn’t do often but so much fun!
Food is great and the service is very good. I just find it a bit more expensive than I would like it. I know you are paying for the experience as well as the food but I still feel it's priced a bit high. One good thing about it being so expensive is that it limits how much I will come, I am sure the calories are fairly high as well! If it was cheaper I'd probably have cheese and chocolate way too much!
The Melting Pot offers a delicious and novel dining experience, perfect for any special occasion. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, and highly professional. Every meal I've ever had at The Melting Pot has been a complete delight!
Always a great time and experience coming here. Me and my wife loved it and we made a double date with our friends! It was amazing!!
Wonderful food, and prompt service despite the dinner rush. It was a little too bad that they were still on the limited menu a few days after Valentine's day, but the it's hard to complain about the quality.
It was our anniversary. I was very surprised and disappointed we were not seated in a more private booth. We made our reservations several days in advance. It just felt more like any other restaurant because of that. However, the manager was very kind to bring two champagne glasses of drink to toast on the house. We also got our chocolate covered strawberries to take home. We love Melting Pot and come every birthday and anniversary. We will continue to keep that tradition!
Was seated next to the door where people were constantly going by, otherwise everything was great!
We had an early Valentine’s dinner, the food was fantastic. Our server could have been a bit more on the ball; he didn’t ask about food allergies, so I was unable to enjoy our dessert.
Lindsey was an amazing waitress with such an outgoing personality. She made the experience so pleasurable and had a beautifully happy disposition as she taught us about the menu, how to enjoy the experience of cooking our food and have fun at our first visit to The Melting Pot.

Terrible service!!When I sit down at a restaurant and it takes >10 minutes before anyone comes to the table, it's usually a good idea to just leave.I find it amicable so that I don't have a bad dining experience and the server doesn't get a poor tip for bad service.I didn't this time because my 8 year old daughter was excited for her first fondue experience. To start, the server was not familiar with the Valentine's menu...everything offered in the package was clearly listed. Shrimp was listed as a starter. I asked for shrimp twice, and she said that wasn't included. The third time I mentioned that it didn't say anywhere on the menu that it wasn't included, she agreed and brought it.Same with the charcuterie board-she said it wasn't included then I pointed out that it clearly said "Complimentary" under it on the menu.It took quite a while, but the cheese course came out first.Quite some time later, shrimp, salad, charcuterie board all at once. Although slow, if the meal would have proceeded at this pace, it would have been a decent night. We waited at least 20 min for anything else to hit the table, which was just the vegetable stock of the coq au vin.My wife and I joked that it would have probably boiled to half volume before the meat came, but this ended up being the truth. Meat was dropped and she started to leave without explaining sauces, cook times, or leaving a S&R spoon. After we asked for explanations, she left, without adding the veggies and red wine to the half-volume remaining veggie stock.Waited for her to show again, asked for it, and it came 5 minutes later.Did I mention that I waited 25 minutes for a second beer also? Meal went fine, then disappearing act again to order dessert. Daughter was having fun, but my wife and I were soured about the experience at this point. Asked for the check at the same time as dessert in addition for a water for the kid.Came back to the tables 4 times without the water.Over3HourMeal.ICanGoOnAboutTheBill,NoMoreSpace
Wonderful! Tasty! Great for a long evening out to enjoy each course to the fullest.
Our server was personable, professional and on top of things and we enjoyed our food. We had a great overall experience.
The quality and amount of food was disproportionate to the cost. All in all this place is way over charging patrons and they should be ashamed of themselves. By design they don't have to cook any food because you cook it at your table. I have no idea how they can charge $25 for a kids meal and over $50 for an adult meal.
This was my first time to eat here, my wife loved it and if she loved it everything is perfect. The service was excellent and the food was excellent. Definitely going back!
We really enjoyed our evening out, Taylor was amazing! The food was good, drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to go back again!
Great experience for the birthday girl and her friends. Made her day.
Fun place to go, the food and service was awesome.
Great meal, soooooo much food on the four course. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful dinner w some special friend of ours, we wanted them to experience something amazing hands one.. they love it! Thanks great experience!
I went with 3 “newbies” and our server “Dani” was absolutely amazing!! We waited a bit extra for a “double burner” table by the manager was very nice and bought us a round. Overall ... GREAT experience with yummy delicious food!
Even though we had reservations, we still waited over half an hour. Nice waitress and service from her- but the other waiters were talking loudly with the couple next to us (who were regulars) and that conversation never seemed to end :/
We had a party of five, all moms getting to go out for a dinner! Our server was fantastic! The food was great, we all had an amazing time!
Absolutely was having a great time until we were asked to leave. We had reservations at 4:00 and were eating our dessert at 6:15 and were asked at 6:30 to move to the bar if we wanted to continue eating. Manager said they were busy and needed our table. I am absolutely shocked and have no plans to return.
Our food was wonderful. Our server did not come around often, but he was friendly.
The hostess was incredibly rude. We had never been there before and wanted to check in for our reservation. She would ask a question and then cut off my answer. She was very condescending.
