The Melting Pot - Midtown Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
The service was not good at all here last night. Sat for ten minutes after I had to get up and say something to somebody before receiving water on table. Server (Chris I believe was his name) blamed the staff and the location of the table (in the very back of the restaurant up against a wall). To make up for it the server said she sat us with a really good, black, and funny server. Ironically, it wasn't that funny when throughout the night the server kept forgetting about us. It was a really long wait in between courses and receiving simple things as silverware and sauce refills once we finally got our entree. Dinner reservations were for 9pm couldn't get out of there until almost 11:30pm. Manager barely said anything to us after I requested her to speak on how upset we were. The server did compensate us for our drinks which was a nice gesture, I wish the service was better. Will not be going to that location ever again to spend that kind of money on a meal. I used to serve and this could of easily been just a really bad night unfortunately for us but it ended on a sour note because it is one of my favorite restaurant chains but now I do not think I will come back to this place especially since it was my boyfriend's birthday dinner and they almost ruined the night, so thanks.
If I could leave zero stars for service at this restaurant, I would. I made an Open Table reservation for a "date night" with my 6-year-old daughter for 5:15p. We were not seated until after 5:50p. There was no host/hostess at the front for the first 5 minutes, and it was absolute mayhem with 10-15 people waiting in the front foyer - none of whom had received clarity on what was happening. Various hosts and hostesses "took our names" multiple times, but I was never given any information as to when we might be seated or what was going on. We got a "we're getting your table ready now" at least 3 times, then another 5-10 minutes would pass with no word. The same hostess who had told us our table was almost ready actually came back up 5 minutes later and said "hi, can I help you? what's your name?". Guests who came in after us
with 5:30 and 5:45 reservations were also seated before us. When I asked what was happening, I was told "it all depends upon how it goes into the system."
While the food we actually had time to order was good (the cheese and chocolate fondues), since we had to be somewhere at 7p, we did not have time to order full meals. By the time we were eventually seated and served at 6p, it was too late. On the positive, the waiter himself was very friendly and helpful, though not a single person apologized for the experience we had.
Love Open Table. Hated this restaurant. I will never go back to this location. Terrible, inconsiderate, ridiculously poor service at the front, particularly with a child in tow.
The food is amazing just wish the portions were a slightly more. Quality of food is amazing. I've been multiple times to a Melting Pot restaurant, but the first time for everyone else in my group for dinner. They enjoyed the experience as well. It would great for meeting new people and sharing a dinner experience.
My partner and I had an amazing birthday celebration on a Friday night! We had to change our reservation 3 times over the course of 3 days and they were not only very accommodating, but their hospitality was impeccable.
The manager, Jennifer, provided outstanding personalized service upon request in an earlier conversation prior to the date of our dinner. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and as always, dessert was everything! It was a really great experience!
We enjoyed a time of visiting before our food arrived, which gave us the opportunity to unwind a bit from a busy day. We didn't feel rushed. Our server (Nathan) was very professional in his appearance and familiarity with the menu. He did an excellent job in preparing our cheese dip and timed our food arrival just right. It was a wonderful evening for my husband and I and we want to thank you. The meal was a great kick off for an evening at the Fox Theatre. Thanks again we look forward to dining with you again in the near future.

The valet parking needs to be improved. Arrived at 4:00p.m. and there was no valey present. The VIP rate at the self pay box was not available until 4:30 p.m.. The manager gave us business cards to place on the dash so I car would not be booted. Fortunately at 4:30, she went back out to self pay for us at the $5 rate. The valet was not there when we left around 7:00 p.m.
We are “regulars” at The Melting Pot, and can always count on a pleasant, un-rushed , unique experience and great food. We ordered the Atlanta Big Night Out this time and there was confusion about how many portions we were getting (there were 3 of us, but the BNO is intended to be a meal for 2.). Our server quickly cleared up our confusion and suggested “sides” that were much less expensive, but fit our need exactly. Another great Melting Pot experience.
The was our first experience at The Melting Pot. Mike was our waiter. He was an outstanding waiter who took time with us as well as our two kids. We never had to ask for anything as he anticipated our needs.
The food was fresh when brought to the table. The preparation was very well explained then throroughly enjoyed.
Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable. The restaurant was crowded with one large loud party which took away from our occasion, as it was not controlled chaos. People walking to and from tables. Kids beating on tables with skewers and the poor server trying to herd cats when it came to presenting final checks to the party. Very distracting. Our server was great; however, the hostess ruined our experience. She was extremely rude when seating us, never even making eye contact and when leaving and asking for directions as to where we were at, she was rude and not helpful. I would never recommend this location due to her poor customer service and attitude. It was how we were greeted and her attitude set the tone for our departure.
Been to other location a few times but many years ago. This time my wife and I on our anniversary felt a tad rushed. Server was very nice but lacked on discussing the menu and our choices with us. Overall still love the melting pot! Maybe he was having an off day. We all do
My wife and I celebrated her birthday at this restaurant for the 1st time. We enjoyed the ambience & great service, however we feel that the waiter could've been clearer on how to cook the food. Instructions were given quickly but not thoroughly. We carefully cooked each item one at a time not knowing that we couldve added more at one time. By the time we added our last items, our grease was very dark causing our food to burn on the outside while still raw inside. The stove heat was set too high causing our food to cook improperly for the time instructed by the waiter. Once we got the waiter to reduce the heat, the rest of the meal was great especially the desert.
We were celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary, and several of the staff commented with congratulations and well wishes. Our waiter was awesome. The drinks and food came much more quickly than I anticipated, which was great because I was very excited to eat here again!
Horrible service for an expensive meal. I have always enjoyed going to other melting pot locations and was extremely disappointed with the customer service at this location. We had to plug in our hot plate because our server Josh couldn't figure it out. Josh didn't check on us and only refilled our water once. We also had to give our wine order three times because he didn't remember after the first time. When he came back to our table with our first course I asked if he got our wine order he said yes and then came back 2 minutes later to get our drink order again. When asked by management as we were leaving how our experience was, we said it was disappointing and the manager had no reaction and acted like he didn't care. I love the melting pot and I hate that this location doesn't uphold the melting pot standards.
