The Melting Pot - Arrowhead

First off our server was excellent. He did an amazing job explaining the menu, options and favorites customers usually pick from. It was very detailed on the ingredients that went into every pot.
However, the portions were very, very small and extremely expensive. Five of us had water, one person 2 beers, cheese appetizer, main course and dessert. The bill was almost 300.00 with tip.
For the cheese appetizer you get a selection of breads, apples and veggies but mostly bread. The cheese had good flavor but the breads were too dry and the dark bread was bitter.
Main course - we had a variety of meats, shrimp and scallops. We picked broth based pots...no frying or grilling. Unless the meat was premarinated it was very plain so you really relied on the sauces to give it flavor. The sauces were very small and had to be shared by all five of us instead of each person having their own. The shrimp were VERY small. Scallops were a great size. We tried the Teriyaki tofu and it was absolutely terrible. It was like chewing a sponge and we normally enjoy tofu. Basically you got 15 small bites of meat (with the exception of scallops because they were large) the 2 boiling pots and 2 small bowls of vegetables.
The desert pots we're probably the best. However, the items used to dip we're very dry and you got one of each item basically. Very light on fruit. Each person got about a half of a strawberry and one slice of banana and a couple of bites of pineapple. I'm no fan of marshmallows and you got two different types of those with two bites of Rice Krispie treats.
Again, server was amazing. Fondue is fun but price is unreasonable and may be why the restaurant was virtually empty on a Saturday night.
Terrible service. We have been to the Scottsdale location many times. We did nothing but wait all night for a very expensive dinner. Just sat for 10 to 15 minutes intervals waiting for drinks and courses. Arrowhead melting pot will not be getting my business again.
Delicious food, helpful wait staff. Wonderful way to spend a few hours with a friend.
If we did not sit in the booth next to the kitchen the noise would have been very quiet. The cheese fondue was excellent but we ran out and still had 50% of the bread and veggies left. Love the experience!!
Good times with friends
Enjoyed our first time there. The waitress could not have been nicer. Explained everything and was very patient
Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable on both the food and alcohol. The food and experience was amazing.
I have been wanting to go for at least 10 years. The experience was great. We will definitely go back
The experience was great! I enjoyed each course. I love coming to a place that offers an experience rather than just get your food, eat and leave. We were able to try different things that I would not have imagined tasting so good together. It was very romantic as well.
This is one of my most favorite places! I brought my mother in law here for a little ladies night out and I could just tell she felt so special and loved due to how classy the melting pot is, which was reward enough. On top of that you have great service, wonderful food, and an unforgettable experience?! 10/10 why I return annually, if not more. I’d go more if it wasn’t as pricey, but the benefit of occasionally eating here far outweighs the cost. Can’t get enough!
I’m a huge fan of the melting pot but must say I have a love-hate relationship with it. While I always enjoy the food, I’m usually disappointed with the service. I’m happy to say that on this visit, which was my first to the arrowhead location, I had a perfect experience from start to finish. It was my sons birthday and because the Scottsdale location is closing soon, I didn’t want to take a chance. So we tried the arrowhead location. So glad we did! Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. She checked on us often, which is a good thing because we always seem to need something! Whether it was refilling our drinks or getting us more dipping sauces, she was on it. Great service is always appreciated, but even more so when it’s a special occasion. My only negative comment is that I wish the melting pot would provide more bread with the cheese course. It’s never enough. It’s a huge pot of cheese and the bread runs out quickly when shared by several people.
Alexa was so sweet. She made great recommendations and was so personable. Having her as a server was like having a third friend with us for dinner. I will ask for her in the future. Melting Pot is one of our favorite celebrating places.
We received an email for a promotional all you can eat shrimp and filet. It was my birthday weekend so we decided to go. We had our meal and then asked for a second round. They had run out of filet but they would “defrost” some for us!! We had to wait about 20 minutes. Every round they would say do you want more and “I will have them work on defrosting another filet.” They never offered more vegetables and we even said if it was easier we would take a different meat. It seemed we were really an inconvenience for them. There was also a table across from us with very loud children who were screaming and the solution was to turn on a movie and play it loud for them. I know that wasn’t the melting pots fault but it just added to the overall unpleasant experience. Maybe when people come with young rambunctious children they should be seated in one of the rooms off the main dining room. The manager never came over to apologize about running out of food and ask if we were ok!!!! This is definitely not the dining experience a restaurant of this caliber should have been!!! Truly disappointed
My husband and I went on a date night. This was our first visit. Wasn't sure what to expect. The lighting was very low it was hard to see and we had to turn on our flashlights from our phones. Our server Nate was very good. It was that say a different experience. I wasn't planning on cooking our own food, but it was okay. The best part of the food the whole night was the desert. The salad could have been a little bit more but it was good. Nate was very good at his service but the time frame between each entree was 10 to 15 minutes. I think the timeline was a little too long. If you go there you should not make plans afterwards. Overall we stayed there 1 1/2 hours. It was a pleasant night since we were by ourselves.
Table very small and it was very warm.
It was my husband birthday and i wanted an intimate setting not knowing it’d be more then expected for our first time, our waitresses were very informational an happy to serve us even after they had closed we didn’t even know we were the last two in. The food was fantastic quiet filling and the dessert fondue didnt last an hr when we got home it was gone lol. Definitely will be coming back
One of my favorite places. Never had a bad experience!
As with many restaurants the music was too loud.
Always a fantastic meal, with a great atmosphere for a night out.
Perfect birthday dinner
Pay attention to stained dirty silverware
Utensils were pretty sad shape!
The beer cheese fondue was tasty. The staff provided exceptional customer service. But it’s way overpriced for what they give you and you have to cook it yourself, no thank you!
Love this place, especially the dessert and the cheese!
This location is going down hill. Drive the extra 20 minutes and go to Scottsdale. Very inexperienced server. Manager was unhelpful. Poor experience.
My husband and I dined at the Melting Pot recently and despite previous wonderful experiences, this time we were left a bit disappointed. The main issues were due to us being gluten-free. We ordered the 4-course meal and chose the classic for our meat, mainly because my husband wanted shrimp. Unfortunately, when the meat came out it was missing the shrimp. It wasn't a big deal as our server quickly brought some out after we pointed out the mistake. When our dessert platter came out we were floored by the amazing choices-Crispy Rice cereal treats, cake, fruit and much more. When we excitedly showed our happiness for so many amazing gluten-free choices, our server apologized and said she forgot we were gluten-free and that these desserts were not safe for us. Thankfully we never ate any of it or my husband, who has celiac disease, would have been sick soon after. Our server took the gluten treats away and brought out the gluten-free desserts. Bananas, strawberries, pineapple and a few marshmallows. So for the same price as the gluten platter filled with multiple treats-we paid for fruit. We dined at this same place last year and had a better selection so we were quite disappointed. For the price, ambiance and experience The Melting Pot provides, you would think they could think of something besides fruit for their gluten-free patrons.
The Melting Pot has always been our go-to place to celebrate special occasions. This last experience is having me question whether we need to find a different place that can accommodate a gluten-free diet, with a better food selection and by not accidentally serving us unsafe food.
Melting Pot delivers a unique dining experience you can't get anywhere else very quiet. Enjoy the quiet time with date or family or friends when we are there. Fun to experience fondue, cheese, entrees of great quality meat, seafood, pork, duck or chicken, and the chocolate fondue desserts. This is not a eat fast restaurant. Enjoy the experience and relax. My favorite place!!!!
It was a very nice experience as it always is there. I love the food and service was great!
Food was amazing! Andy who was our waiter was just absolutely amazing and such a sweet guy. Great customer service!!
I have dined at the Melting Pot many times over the years. We unfortunately chose the grill, something new to us. The server told us it would take about 9 minutes on each side. That was unfortunately the last time we saw her except for the bill. It took so long I couldn’t believe it. The veggies never did cook and the meat took forever. I did not enjoy the dinner except for the cheese fondue. It was so expensive for what we got. We decided to leave instead of having desert. This was supposed to be my Birthday dinner and I have wanted to go there for over 6 months.
It was not worth the $250 for 3 people. On my way out I had to step over vegetables all over the floor. Which no one was making any effort to clean up at another table.
I don’t think I’ll be going back. It just was not enjoyable at all.
Awesome meal, really great atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. loved the new grill option for the main course.
The server was a little unobservent this time. She didnt check back to make sure d r.c links were good. But overall it was great as usual.
I'd eaten at a melting pot in Cincinnati and was pleasantly surprised to find one (of three) in Phoenix. Everything was as great as I remembered. Excellent service, variety of selections, all fresh and delicious. Half off the bottle of wine on wine-down Wednesday was the cherry on the cake of my day.
The melting pot was a great place for a fun intimate date. My wife and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary here and had a wonderful time! We will definitely be back!
Very over priced for the quality of food.. if you are a Fleming’s customer .. this was more expensive for low quality food and service
Nathan was an excellent server. The food was amazing and good portions. I paid for the Romance Package and I would recommend it for couples wanting a private dining experience. I would recommend that the air conditioning be set a few degrees cooler for those private spots. Overall an amazing evening.
A total waste of $250.00 for a family of 4!!! Food was not what you would expect for a "high end" restaurant. I heard from a friend that you don't go for the food, you go for the experience. I must say it was the worst experience. You wait so long to get the main course and by that time you have to cook your own food and it takes 3x as long to cook then they advise and it is absolutely flavorless but they do give you sauces to try and mask the bland gamey taste, but the sauces are as equally unappetizing. You are better off going to outback at least you get what you pay for.
So.....Interesting concept, kinda like Benihana without the chef cooking snd tossing food all over. Just the 2 of us on a gify card from a friend. happy it was for $100 dince the bill was just over that and no drinks other than water. Booth for 2 and left the curtain open. I'm not a seafood and veggies person but my wife is so we swapped some with each other. Plenty of food, especially if your younger with fadt metabolism...too much really for us. Had basic 4 entre serving...hard to see or get cooked food out of pot. Desert was good. Milk choc, caramel and heath crunch. Probably not for us but might be more fun with a group. Pretty expensive too.
Our waiter, Stuart, was nice & explained everything perfectly since it was our first time. Liked the privacy current & food was amazing. Still craving the food & definitely coming back again! Wish they would have offered a birthday dessert (don’t mind paying for it) or something but not sure if you guys offer them.
Our waitress was so nice. The manager was nice as well. It was clean. Food is always great. Lighting is always too dark for me. But I know a lot of people like that. Not cheap for sure but totally worth the experience.
My family really enjoyed the dessert fondue and the great service.
