The Melting Pot - Arlington VA Ratings and Reviews
Our server was great. The food was delicious, but wait times were very long and they put us in a room with a party of approximately 10 3-5 year olds. When we asked if we could be moved we were told that the other available tables were being held for reservations. We also had reservations so that was less than satisfactory.
Our experience at melting pot seems to have gotten better and better over the years. The service received his top shelf and the spacious area we were seated was fantastic for the special occasion. I do recommend asking for the same location located near the side door. We arrive with great into the patient hoping for great service and we left feeling like Special guests on a red carpet event. The entire experience is just phenomenal and highly recommended.
Really really nice waiter with good conversation and an EXCELLENT menu. Was more than willing To accommodate all of my special requests on the menu and answered all of my questions thoroughly.
Great, cute place for date night I’ve been coming here for years and I will keep coming here for years. (:
Gluten free options have recently become very important for us, and Melting Pot was very accommodating, The food, as usual, was excellent, and the server, Steven, was great. The salad was very tasty, but could be a tad bigger. The three fondue dinner (Cheese appetizer, wine-infused broth, and chocolate dessert) provides the variety of tastes to keep our interests. The ingredients are very good, so goodness in every bite. This is a leisurely dinner, and taking your time, is part of the fun. Always sad, when the last piece of steak and lobster is gone.
The table next to ours the patrons kept saying very foul language. Using the F* Y* very loudly. The manager walked up to serve food while the patron was yelling F* Y* and he said nothing to the patron I Was shocked. The Manager was white with a long ponytail I do not remember his name. The meat had NO TASTE but the cheese and chocolate was awesome
This was a good place for a birthday celebration but when I was on open table I selected it was for my wifes birthday and to get Balloons and a photo, somehow that was not translated from open table to them. When I used the restroom (which was extremely weird) I asked the Host/hostess and they said sometimes it doesnt get coordinated from open table to them. I saw that they had roses "available" so I asked them for 3 of them i think it would be $15 or so. They never showed up, but at the end of the meal we got the balloons/chocolates and they never charged us the $13 for them. So I guess you would call that good customer service? Not quite sure.
My Fiancé and I had a good time together and the food was yummy. Our waitress took quite bit of time to make it to our table and she rarely checked on us but we understood that she must have been busy. Also, My fiancé and I were so confused about how to order, being that it was out first time there. We eventually went on google and that is when we better understood. Lastly The people sitting beside us were pretty loud. Overall my time at the Melting Pot was alright, but there were a few things that could've been better to make our experience great. To end this I would like to say my fiancé and I are understanding people and we know that it was busy and that the table beside us were just having some fun.
We always attend this location for restaurant week and wedding anniversary. Our waitress this time, was a little slow. I am assuming it was due to her helping with a large party in another section. The food as always was amazing. I also loved that they put us in a quiet nook with only another table for two.
My friend and I had a wonderful dinner experience. Joe was our waiter, and if he doesn’t train other wait-staff, he should start. He was pleasant -- but not overbearing into our conversation, was extremely attentive, and anticipated our needs before we needed them. Probably the best waiter experience we’ve ever had at the Melting Pot. The food was delicious and atmosphere great. We’ll be back.
We had a great time taking advantage of the Restaurant Week menu at The Melting Pot! They offered an amazing menu and provided excellent service. We enjoyed the cheese fondue, salad, coq au vin with shrimp and filet mignon, and of course, the chocolate fondue. Look forward to the next time! (Destiny was great!)
My boyfriend and i had not been to the melting pot in over 10 years- and what a life changing experience this was. We recently vacationed in Switzerland and became obsessed with fondue and the melting pot in Arlington, va delivered in giving us an authentic fondue dinning experience. Our waiter, Javier, customized each course of the menu (cheese, entree, and chocolate fondues) to our specific wishes and suggested add-ons to get the best out of each course. We left wanting more and will definitely be back very soon.
Excellent location for special occasion dining. One of our favorites for celebrating Anniversaries and Birthdays. Interesting, non-standard selection of foods. Fondue is not a stable in my diet, but is a fun addition for special events. Always a good experience!
We went to the melting pot for my son's 17th birthday. It is one of his favorite restaurants. When you think about the food you get, it is a bit expensive, but when you add in the fun fondue experience, it is worth it for a special occasion. We really enjoyed the cheese and main course fondues, but everyone agreed that their favorite, by far, was the chocolate dessert fondue. Our server was terrific and the boys all had a great time.
Despite having a reservation and showing up 20 min early they isn’t seat us until 15 min past our reservation time. We also watched approximately 6 other parties get seated in front of us which was annoying. However our waiter was great and the food and drinks were great. Would recommend this location to friends.
The meal was great!! Our server was amazing! She was very accommodating. The manager came by often to check in with us. I think his name was Jeff.
The atmosphere was horrible! Seated next to a loud, cursing, group for New Year’s Eve and spent 3 hours listening to their foul mouths. No, we didn’t complain. Now I wish we had. We were seated next to a window that had ice on the inside and a constant draft.
Very slow night- we sat in the bar area and had Destinee as our bartender/server. She was wonderful- right there when we needed her, yet didn't rush us. She knew the menu well and made some great suggestions. The Melting Pot is not cheap- you need to figure about $60 per person without drinks or tip for a four course meal. It is my daughter's favorite place, so we go when they are here from the west coast where there are none in the LA area. It is a great interactive meal- the food was very good- they have made some changes to the menu over the last few years- they have premium items that used to be included in the meal- like some of the dinner and dessert items and charge more of them now- not a fan as the pricing is already steep. They have a good beer list- pricy but we knew that going in- an ok wine list, but not every wine is available by the glass so unless you want to go for a $50 bottle for the table a $12 glass is just an ok wine. Overall a nice experience made better by a wonderful server.
Dark, outdated, dingy decor. Servers prepare the cheese and chocolate fondue at the table, and if the restaurant is busy, regular table service suffers. Don't expect refills on water, asking if you would like another glass of wine, or if the food is to your liking. Additionally, our wine came about 10 minutes after we ordered and the cheese fondue course had been prepared. Salad arrived as we were still having first course, so obviously we felt rushed. The broth served to cook the protein entree tasted salty and full of chemicals. The bread served with the fondue was stale. An unfortunate experience we will not repeat.
