The Melting Pot - Arlington VA Ratings and Reviews
Despite having a reservation and showing up 20 min early they isn’t seat us until 15 min past our reservation time. We also watched approximately 6 other parties get seated in front of us which was annoying. However our waiter was great and the food and drinks were great. Would recommend this location to friends.
The meal was great!! Our server was amazing! She was very accommodating. The manager came by often to check in with us. I think his name was Jeff.
The atmosphere was horrible! Seated next to a loud, cursing, group for New Year’s Eve and spent 3 hours listening to their foul mouths. No, we didn’t complain. Now I wish we had. We were seated next to a window that had ice on the inside and a constant draft.
Very slow night- we sat in the bar area and had Destinee as our bartender/server. She was wonderful- right there when we needed her, yet didn't rush us. She knew the menu well and made some great suggestions. The Melting Pot is not cheap- you need to figure about $60 per person without drinks or tip for a four course meal. It is my daughter's favorite place, so we go when they are here from the west coast where there are none in the LA area. It is a great interactive meal- the food was very good- they have made some changes to the menu over the last few years- they have premium items that used to be included in the meal- like some of the dinner and dessert items and charge more of them now- not a fan as the pricing is already steep. They have a good beer list- pricy but we knew that going in- an ok wine list, but not every wine is available by the glass so unless you want to go for a $50 bottle for the table a $12 glass is just an ok wine. Overall a nice experience made better by a wonderful server.
Dark, outdated, dingy decor. Servers prepare the cheese and chocolate fondue at the table, and if the restaurant is busy, regular table service suffers. Don't expect refills on water, asking if you would like another glass of wine, or if the food is to your liking. Additionally, our wine came about 10 minutes after we ordered and the cheese fondue course had been prepared. Salad arrived as we were still having first course, so obviously we felt rushed. The broth served to cook the protein entree tasted salty and full of chemicals. The bread served with the fondue was stale. An unfortunate experience we will not repeat.
I've been to this location previously along with plenty of other locations. However, I was extremely disappointed regarding the seating, a loud celebratory group came in and they were seated right next to us and they were extremely loud. If we weren't in the middle of our dinner we would have left immediately. We could barely hear each other speak, worst experience I have had in any melting pot location. Usually they group large parties away from smaller dinners.
We went for Ladies Night Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest and had a blast!
Each course was better than the last and the waitress we had was amazing.
The hostess was very friendly and the manager was very kind and very fun!!!
Highly recommend this wonderful experience!!
We had a bit of trouble getting to the restaurant from the parking garage.
The food was excellent and our server was extremely friendly and accommodating.
It was my granddaughter’s birthday and the server made her happy the way he celebrated her, subtly with not a lot of fanfare.
I am from Atlanta and the Melting Pot restaurants there were so much better. The waiter seemed liked he was in a hurry in the beginning and didnt seem interested in taking drink orders. Though he was kind, he was not on the ball. At one point, I got my own silverware from another table and shared my glass of wine with my friend because we were waiting so long for him to bring hers. Apparently they had run out of wine glasses?! Also the women's bathrooms were a mess. We will not be coming back to that particular Melting Pot
We were a bit disappointed from our last visit years ago. There was too much variety in things that should have been kept simple. Honey wheat bread was too sweet for cheese fondue - just leave it at plain french bread! Even on the classic and the land and sea, most of the meats were over-seasoned and clashed with the sauces, which are an integral part of the fondue experience. Simple or no seasonings (like the shrimp) would be adequate. Plus the zucchini and broccoli chunks were huge, and there were too many mushrooms and not many potatoes (the server brought more potatoes, which was great). And why cover the marshmallows in chocolate? They were being dunked in chocolate. Same reason not to include brownies, although I know some folks do like dunking chocolate in chocolate. But then provide plain marshmallows, too. Our server was excellent and we still had a fun time but the way it is right now we won't go back again for a long time and I can't really recommend it to anyone without my comments.
My boyfriend and I went here for our 1 year anniversary and it was wonderful. Our waitress was so nice and helpful and we got a secluded booth where we had no problem talking while cooking our food. The food was wonderfully delicious as well. I got a melting pot mule and it was probably the best I have ever had.
We went for Halloween/my husband's birthday. The food was really good and our server was awesome. We were disappointed in the Halloween costume contest though. We went all out dressing up, and then we weren't ever really given any information. I had to keep asking about how the contest was going to work. They didn't ask for my contact info, didn't take notes or our picture to remember what we had worn (we were the very first reservation of the night). Now two days later, there hasn't been an announcement anywhere, so I'm left wondering did someone else win? Did they even choose a winner? It would have been nice if they took pictures and then posted the winner so we would at least know we weren't just overlooked. Overall, it was fun, but we probably wouldn't participate in any contests again.
Always delicious. I could eat cheese and chocolate fondue all the time. The actual meal is a little time consuming if you get potatoes. You have to cook those a long time. But other than that it is fun and creative. I would ask for the extra plate of dessert for dipping.
