It was my son’s 30th birthday and he’d never had fondue before so we decided to give it a shot. We both thought the service, and the food were wonderful. Thank you to our server, Javier, for making it such a great experience!
Food was pretty good minus the stale tortilla chips served with the cheese fondue. Service was slow and not very attentive. Definitely on the pricey side. And the restaurant didn't seem too busy. Chalked it up to new / inexperienced help coming out of COVID.
Service was so slow. Our time at the table for a four course meal ended up being 2h45
It wasn’t what I expected. The service was great but the food was again not what I expected. There were no sides just meats.
The restaurant was hot!!!! You are already cooking at your table with no air conditioning for that price was a no! I needed a shower from all of the heat/sweat!
The air conditioning was not working and we had hot stoves at the table. It was terrible experience wise. The food was consistently good as usual but we were so distracted by being hot. Different members of our party kept getting up to go other places that were cooler in the building. Would not recommend especially in summer without working AC.
The temperature was not very cool so with the cooking on top of it we were a little uncomfortable. Initially we were very close to a table with 10 people so it was loud. It was better after they left about half way through our meal.
Service was not up to usual standard. Slow and did not check back to see if everything was ok. Forgot the wine flight.
Excellent food and service. We will be going back.
Wonderful atmosphere, & great customer service
The cheese fondue is excellent and prepared tableside. The meat entrée was great and the chocolate fondue was great as well. It is expensive but it is overall a great experience.
Overall the food quality was good and it was a cool experience since it was my first time having fondue. However, they advertise themselves as "fine-dining" and the ambience felt more like a fancy Applebees. Additionally, the service was sub-par for a very quiet Sunday night. Our server was almost nowhere to be found most of the night and never introduced themselves (we actually thought they were a busser, not a server). The Manager was nice, but overall I don't think I will be coming back to this location.
As always the food was great. However I had the sense they were very short staffed and possibly had new people as well. The lockdown and reopening is not easy but the service was not good. They had two hostesses working and were short on waitstaff so our poor waitress was never there. Happily we had been there before and knew what was what because nothing was ever explained, some of our food selections were wrong and had to be sent back, drinks showed up late and only when we tracked them down. But it’s fondue, and the food makes up for the irritation. Also, once you get over six people it might be good to have more than two burners, maybe. I could make the case either way...
Terrible. Service was less than poor took over an hour to get our first course. Table of teenagers across from us were loud and swearing. Could have dealt with it if the service would have been better.
We have been to the melting pot many times. The food yesterday was delicious (especially loves the bourbon bacon cheddar) but the service was bad. There were no back waiters, so it seemed our waiter was always busy, but not necessarily helping us. For example, they didn’t even remove some of the dinner (dipping sauces) when we had dessert.
We've been to this Melting Pot on several occasions. We always have a wonderful meal. Service was excellent and we look forward to our next visit.
it was ok, service was lacking, had to call the front deak for water from my cell phone
Staff all seemed extremely stressed and service was very sporadic. Not the fun experience we’re used to at Melting Pot :(
It was really crummy. Service was unbelievably slow. The server asked for a tip on top of the 18% that was included in our bill. There were only 2 burners for 7 people.
Great service form Javier
Food was wonderful and plentiful. Our serving was OUTSTANDING, I wish I could remember his name but he had served there for 20 years and still clearly loved what he does.
The food and service was very good but the restaurant itself is very dated and needs to be updated. The ambiance overall impacted the experience.
As usual top notch treatment
So delish! Our waiter, Lewis, was excellent! The local wine pairing was very good!
Amazing experience. Food was outstanding. Great place for a date or group if friends.
A great treat for an outing! We knew it was going to be a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Not so impressed with the wine pairings, though.
It was an enjoyable experience. Mother's day was a success.
Had a great 1st experience here. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Just be ready to cook your own food.
Great food and atmosphere 👌. Mother's Day special was spot on.
The special menu for Mother’s Day was wonderful. We loved everything! Melting Pot is always a lovely dining experience.
Very disappointed - the restaurant was very dirty feel, look! Our server, Amanda was very nice but at some point disappeared - we have several people caring for the table but no service continuity. The pot never got that hot and the dark chocolate was not even warm. Very sad - won't hurry back.
Trash . The food was very disgusting it made me sick. It also gave me a stomach bug.
Who needs ambiance when every other category is 100%. My wife and I were celebrating our 11th anniversary and wanted to do something different. I've always heard of the Melting Pot but always opted for elsewhere.
Not this time! We literally had the best fun date in years and in the process almost ate ourselves into oblivion.
Special note: Fabiola our server says she has been working there for 2 months. She seemed like a seasoned veteran. She was always there when we needed and invisible when we did not. Her understanding of English was a little challenging but she was still a "5" out of 5.
We ordered the THE BIG NIGHT OUT for 2 and there was enough for another person. The food was great as were the drinks.
We had the unfortunate luck of having a couple with two small, screaming kids in the table next to us. There goes the ambience. The service was very slow, even by Melting Pot standards. The cheese fondue was the best part of the meal. The main course was terrible. The oil was incredibly hot, and our server was nowhere to be found to turn the temp down. At one point, the oil splattered on me when I placed a potsticker in the oil. Plus, the food kept getting stuck to the bottom of the pot. The salad portion was disappointing, but not as much as learning that they do not offer their yummy house salad dressing. Basically, try now offer commercial dressing. The chocolate was disappointing as well. I do NOT recommend this place.
Pretty typical Melting Pot experience. The food is good, with the cheese and chocolate being my favorites. The entrance from the parking garage is unusual and doesn’t look like an entrance; you feel like you’re in a service hallway. The one complaint I have is the smoke - they have the option for a grill cook top, but no vent hoods over tables, so it got really smokey and at one point we were coughing from all the smoke. It was quite unpleasant.
Birthday We all enjoyed it. Salads shrink every time we go.
It was amazing food was so good I mean out of its world the flavors and drinks it was just a different vibe for me I love it
This used to be a nice place to go to for special occasions. Now, I feel like it’s turned into a casual dining establishment. I was asked to keep my knife between courses which is an absolute no-no in fine dining. We were also served garlic powder in disposable to go containers. If Covid prevents providing the shaker bottle, at least serve it in a real dish... I’m paying almost $150 for a dinner for two, after all, and I certainly don’t expect to be eating from to go containers.
My reservation was made for 7 pm and we were able to be seated after a short wait. We we got to the table. They already had the bread and veggies out. The waiter didn’t come to the table for about 15 minutes and didn’t take our drink orders for another 10. He turned on the burners to heat up the water in the pots and then disappeared for 20 minutes. While he was away the burners started smoking excessively. My party and I ended up moving the pots off the burners ourselves because the room started to fill with smoke. Soon after that the waiter came back and removed the pots and brought them to another table. He then asked if we wanted to get started on the cheese. We gave him the cheese choices and he disappeared. It wasn’t until an hour and 45 minutes after arriving that the first course of the meal started. While he finished up preparing the cheese the waiter asked if we would like to place an order for main course. We gave him our requests and he disappeared for another 5 minutes and then returned to asked what we ordered again. At this point the bread had become very stale and the veggies we soft. We finished the cheese and the waiter came and removed the pots. He left and came back with the new cooking styles. Another 15 minutes passes and he returns with the main course. He gave us card and the cooking times for each item and asked if we wanted anymore drinks. At this point it was close it was after 10 pm when we finished our meal. The waiter asked if we wanted to try the chocolate. We said no because it was so late. He came back with the check and we paid and left. Overall I was very disappointed in the service. The melting pot is one of my favorite restaurants and I have gone there quite often. I usually go to the one in shady grove in MD. This was the first time I tried the one in Arlington VA. The one in shady grove is a lot better and I do have a favorite waiter there. Unfortunately I don’t see myself returning to the Arlington location anytime soon.
Overall great experience.
