The Melting Pot - Albuquerque Ratings and Reviews
The Melting Pot is proof that high price doesn’t translate to high class/quality. The dipping veggies looked old, the fruits had brown spots, and the our waitress seemed super unhappy to be there. For $60 per person, skip this place and head to Vernon’s or Antiquity- true high class dining.
Brent was the best waiter hands down I have ever had! He made my wife and I feel comfortable and he made this experience amazing! We will be back! I would recommend Brent as your waiter! Our 1st year Wedding Anniversary was made very special because of him!
The Wisconsin cheddar cheese never seemed to get up to temperature, and was a little beery which I didn't care for. For my entree I ordered 'The French Quarter. I swapped the Cajun shrimp for extra Cajun chicken. I didn't much care to the sausage, but the Cajun chicken and steak were phenomenal. The table decided on smores chocolate for dessert and we added the extra plate with cheesecake, creme puffs and rolled wafer things, that I forget the name for. I wasnt sold on the cheese, but the entree and dessert more than made up for it. Definitely going back.
My 10 year old twins picked this resteraunt for their bithdy dinner. Our waiter was a nice guy, however he ruined our cheese, the time between courses was way to long and I mentioned 3 or 4 times it was their birthday and he never acknowledged it. We were sat in a room all on our own and it felt like we were forgotten. It was not special for them and I will not return.
Could’ve been better. Didn’t like the fact that if you get the four course meal and your sitting at a table w one burner you can only pick one cheese and one chocolate or one seasoning when your meal includes your own choice per person price But they were kind enough to move me to a two burner table after I ask about that. Good for the experience I would definitely go back for the chocolate.
My wife and I have been coming here for 18 years. We went to celebrate our birthdays. It has always been our special place. This last experience may change that, unfortunately. Our waitress was overbooked and we rarely saw her. We are used to taking our time there, but we were seated at 7:30 and didn't leave until after 10:15. The food and presentation also seemed to be subpar from what we are typically used to. The fillet minion tasted like sirloin, the lobster tail was the smallest we've had and we had to stir / make our own chocolate. The presentation wasn't as special as we're used to, either. The dessert dippers looked like someone grabbed a bunch of stuff and threw it on a plate. We are pretty humble folks and rarely complain. If we were spending $100 it would be one thing, but when you drop $200 or more you expect the next level. We were polite and didn't complain, as we didn't want to tarnish our night any more than we had to. Hopefully it was just a bad night.
This was our first time to eat at a Melting Pot and we had an excellent waitress, service and atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to change vendors on the tonic water as it tasted more like soda water. The bartender said the brand just wasn’t very “minerally-tasting”. No problem, I ordered something else but that was the only very very minor disappointment in an otherwise great experience.
We come here regularly and usually get great service. Not this time! We waited forever for drinks, went 90% of the meal without refills, and at point one point our server referred to us as “those fu* people”, within ear shot of us and our kids. Not only unporofessional but also unwarranted. As a former server, I stacked the plates 1) for easier removal from our table and 2) because there was several empty plates scattered about the table and we were running out of room. By the sounds of it, maybe utensils got dropped in the back? Not sure how this would be our fault? Maybe we got a novice server but we kept having to ask other employees for more things, such as bread, because our sever was no where to be found. Had this been our first time here, we wouldn’t be back! Fortunately we dine here regularly and typically get phenomenal service.
This is a nice experience but it is pricey. Our wait staff forgot us several times and after waiting 20 minutes to get my bill picked up I walked to the front to pay and found her testing a new employee. The management should really consider not giving this job to someone who is actively taking care of customers. The food is great.
I know a 4-course meal takes some time, and we've eaten at The Melting Pot before, but this visit was too long. Our waitress was very friendly and tried hard but she seemed over-tasked which left us waiting too long between courses. The food was delicious, we don't go out for nice dinners often and really enjoy fondue. It's not that we minded the time together, but when you're paying for a sitter, a 2+ hr meal really adds $ to the night in a hurry. We saw the near by table's waitress 3 times for our every one visit. Also, not the best ambiance as we could hear the near by diners' conversations easily too.
A little pricey but I just love this place! It is fun, different, and so delicious! I go any chance I get. Open table reservation was very convenient. It was the first time I tried it so I will definitely do it again. Overall it was a good time at The Melting Pot
The food was your typical Melting Pot terrific. Some new offerings from the last time I was there about 3 months ago.
It was hot inside where we sat, and the waiter was friendly, however extremely slow. For two people, it took 2hrs 45mins to eat a 4 course meal. Of course, waiting for 20 minutes before he came to ask us for drinks didn't help. The other waiters were having to refill our drinks and take our plates because this guy wasn't always around. Again, he was very nice.. but slow.
Maybe next time.
Great quiet room, nice. Nina our waitress was very nice although she was a little slow in bringing items to our table. Perhaps it was a problem with the kitchens' inability to keep up with the amount of diners so will give her the benefit of doubt. We did like her personality a lot. Although we enjoyed ourselves the food was ok but not spectacular enough to warrant a $300 cost including gratuity for only four people. We may return but it is doubtful.
The only thing that was disappointing was the 2 Lobster Tails that we got. We are a huge fan of Seafood, and we was really looking forward to the 'Cold Water Lobster Tails'. But when they came on our plate they were very small. And than when we cooked them for the 2 minutes (like we were told) the meat of the lobster came off the tail and it shrunk even more. So we were not pleased at all. That was our 1st time at your restaurant and we went since it was our 19 year Anniversary, so that was disappointing especially since we picked that item on the menu. And I believe that it was priced that much because of the Lobster Tails. So if we come back, we wont be ordering that item again.
