We had a wonderful evening. With a party of 8 it was great to get the private room.
A wonderful experience! But definitely not a budget dinner. Be prepared to spend to enjoy.
It was a new experience for sure. We had three couples and we each ordered three entrées as described in the four course meal but we really feel we got short changed on the food because they kept saying two iof the orders were combined.
When we received a check much to our surprise, they added a food, wine and other taxes that we’re totally unexpected
All in all, we had a fun experience but not worth the cost
First time there… we enjoyed very much.
We love going to Melting Pot! Always a wonderful experience & great service and food!!!!
Nobody came to our table for 30 mins so we left. Terrible service by the host and the wait staff
Very enjoyable. The food was wonderful, and it was a relaxed dining area. We like the smaller rooms.
We know it takes time to prep however it did seem like quite a wait between the cheese course and the entree course.
The Melting Pot has always been top notch but this time it was slacking. We sat down to place our order, we noticed the table had not been cleaned from the guests before us. The pattern on the table made it hard to see that drops of chocolate was on the table. I touched the table and it was sticky, it was then that I realized how dirty the table was. Then, after receiving the dinner utensils and carefully inspecting them, two of the forks I needed to use for the fondue was not clean. There was leftover cheese on the forks.
We stayed for dinner and the food was good. Management helped to try and make our experience better, we appreciated it. However, that was our experience at the Melting Pot and we probably won’t return for awhile. The dining experience there is usually fun and different. We will give them a chance to get back on track before visiting again.
Great food, but...my food had hair in it. Sever didn't offer much for that... Then on the check there was a 3% surcharge for the kitchen to provide a "sustainable wage". It's not responsibility to provide the kitchen staff a sustainable wage. Don't try to guilt your customers. At this time I don't see a reason for me to return to the melting pot.
I booked a reservation- on the reservation it asks if I have any special requests …. Glitter on table — no glitter on table -
Cheese Fondue was delicious but the bread was cheap / stale and veggies cheap and boring for the price I was shocked I had 2 broccoli and 2 carrots !
Meat tray was good 👍🏽 sauces very good
Dessert was delicious!
Overall for the price I was shocked how cheap the appetizers were .
You guys need a better selection of bread and veggies .
I wouldn’t suggest ever going here. Horrible, incredibly slow service with average food.
New Years Eve Reservation was made for 8:00 pm and we were seated at 8:40. Staff was not organized. Not sure who was in charge. From there it got worse and the dinner took another 3 hrs. Made it out just before midnight. The restaurant was dirty i.e. sticky floors as you walked, bathrooms were a mess, dinner table was dirty and needed to be cleaned again...I could go on. I felt bad for our server as I think he was doing the best he could. Never saw a manager. At the end we spent almost $600 for a party of 6. I think there are better ways to spend my money.
Food was amazing. Spinach and artichoke cheese fondue was the best! Service was a little bit slow but understandable considering it was New Year’s Eve and they had a full house.
Our usual celebration on New Year's Eve. Seating took a little longer than expected and my first drink out was flat. Staff replaced my drink without issue. Ambience is always nice and food is excellent.
We made reservations a month in advance for New Year’s Eve. We had to wait over 15 minutes to be seated and once seated we sat for 45 mins and no one ever came to our table to serve us. We ended up asking for a manager but they never came either. We got up and ended up leaving with no New Year’s Eve dinner. Doubt we’ll ever go back.
We have always split a meal. When we went in we were told that we had to buy our own meal. I told the waitress I couldn’t eat that much. I finally had the manager come over and explained that I had surgery and couldn’t eat that much. He finally agreed to let me have the kids meal.
It’s a waste of time and money. We spent over 2.5 hours for our service. Not worth it.
We enjoyed our lunch yesterday with excellent food. Our server was good. He offered the table next to ours extra cheese condiments but did not offer us the same. The same neighbors to our table were loud and decided to watch their football game during lunch. This was unexpected and not appreciated. The server also spent time discussing football with those guests which encouraged their poor behavior.
The restaurant is seriously understaffed. Our server was absent the majority of the 3 hour meal (understandable since we cook our own food I suppose) but she forgot to refill waters, ask for drinks orders, bring dipping sides, napkins, silverware and food. The plates, silverware and table were dirty. The server cleared our plates before we were done eating and brought the check before we got dessert (the chocolate fondue the best part). When she finally stopped by the table while eating the chocolate fondue I requested to have my water refilled, at this point it was too late to get another glass of wine and she responded by saying she was to busy (she begrudgingly refilled it). The check included a 3% kitchen staff charge and you are allowed to request removal of the fee. I don’t understand why we are charged for the kitchen staff in the first place, we cook our food and tip the servers on the pricey checks, when I was a server we would split tips, I guess times have changed. Melting pot is my sons favorite place (he is 9) but I don’t think I will be returning any time soon.
Awesome thank you, a perfect end to our Albuquerque trip!
Never ate at a Melting Pot before. Even though it was Xmas day, the quality and quantity wasn't worth the price. The service was good.
I read other reviews on the melting pot before visiting that you don't get much food, but I decided to give it a try because some people complain about everything in Albuquerque and are never happy no matter what. There were far more better reviews than bad. I was actually surprised, the amount of food was more than filling. And I'm a man with a healthy appetite. The first course was two different types of warmed cheeses in separate pots that we dipped our veggies and various breads into. It was excellent. Then the salads. Our table had both caesar and cranberry salads. Both were flavorful and delicious. For the main course, we were brought salmon, shrimp, turkey, beef, chicken and pot stickers. All seafood and meat are raw when brought to the table and you cook your own meat/seafood to your desired perfection and taste in the very hot broth(s) brought to your table. We had two separate pots of broth, Coq a vin? (wine) and the other, chicken with bacon. All diners skewers are different colors so as to tell who's meat/seafood is who's while cooking in the broth of their choice. You take the protein off the skewers with your fork or knife provided after cooking with your skewer, so it's sanitary for all diners at your table. The meats add additional flavors to the broth during cooking. They explain to you its 2 minutes for the seafood to cook in the broth and 3 minutes for the other proteins. The server also puts mushrooms, and potato's into the broth. Several dipping sauces are provided for your protein; Curry, Teriyaki, BBQ, Gorgonzola Cheese and two others. They were all good. (No Chocolate at this point). Last dessert. Pineapple, apples, bananas, pastries, etc. and Chocolate dipping sauce(s). We were all satisfied. When you have 2 - 3 min. cooking time and then eating your cooked item, and repeat, your stomach has enough time to tell your brain your getting full. If you inhale your food, this won't work for you. We would return again.
I did not care for having to cook my pwn food. Loved the spring mixed salad and the desert fondue. Cheese fondue a bit bland
Carve out enough time to enjoy this properly. It's an experience, not just a (terrific) meal.
Great place for Christmas Eve dinner!
Our annual Christmas Eve dinner. We really enjoyed our dinner and the wait staff - everyone was very helpful and accomodating. We had the Cheddar Green Chile fondue and Ying Yang chocolate fondue - both were yummy!
Last year we did carry out and though it was good it just wasn't the same as dining in.
We were finally seated 30 min after our reservation time. Once seated, we waited 20 minutes for Andre (who was supposed to be our server) to greet us and take our drink order. He never showed up. I totally understand Covid staffing issues, but the staff that was available kept walking past us doing everything they could to avoid eye contact. This made us feel that no one was interested in taking care of us. After sitting there for 20 minutes we walked out. We’ve been to melting pot many times. This was the only time we’ve had poor service. We will not be going back anytime soon.
Would’ve liked to have seen our waitress more often drinks went infilled for an extended period of time
Our waiter was great. things went well until dessert, after we finished our meal we waited at least 45 min. and the chocolate never came. Our waiter was very apologetic but we finally just asked for the check. The manager came by and told us that we would be charged for the dessert anyway and gave us a coupon to come back another time for the chocolate.
Awesome time and our waiter brashard was great. Good time and service
Great food, great service, great atmosphere and staff
Thank you for giving us a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐-star rating! We're happy to know that you've had a great experience with us and look forward to your next visit.
The melting pot was a great experience for my mom's birthday! We loved all the food and options provided. However, we will likely not be back due to the expense and richness of the food.
I have eaten at The Melting Pot many times over the years. The quality has really gone downhill.
I am officially done with The Melting Pot.
3 hours was way too long. (We honestly thought we were forgotten about)
We were sat way back by the kitchen. (We could hear the dishes being done and the kitchen/wait staff talking)
The portions were small.
The price was high.
One waitress used vulgar language due to her mistake (manager addressed this, because we brought it to his attention).
So much for a nice Christmas gift to ourself, thanks a lot! Valentine’s Day…forget it - we’re going to Seasons 52.
Good place to celebrate an occasion but forgot how much it was. Then there was a lot of noise coming from the kitchen which was continuous throughout the evening and was very distracting.
I have dined at The Melting Pot many times over the years in several cities, but my last two experiences at the Albuquerque restaurant have not lived up to past expectations.
I’m not sure if the pandemic has changed policies, but a big part of the experience used to be the staff bringing ingredients and preparing the fondue at the table. This is no longer the case. For my last two dining experiences, we arrived on time for our reservations but were not seated for over 15 minutes.
On the most recent visit, we had to ask twice for utensils, once just for place settings, and secondly for spoons for the various dipping sauces. For what brands itself as an upscale dining experience, I would expect there to be better service.
I’m 5’9”, but the seats in the booths are so low that I felt like a little kid at the table. I practically had to stand up to see what was in the pot.
The food is still quite delicious. While my favorites for both chocolate and cheese fondue are still on the menu, the choices seem to have been pared down over the years. I would be more likely to return if there were more variety.
The experience I had was very disappointing compare to other times I have ben there. I do not think I will be going back.
The service was impersonal, the seat was on a corner with a lot of traffic passing by the whole time, drinks came out slow, Food was good though.
This was an anniversary dinner, so we didn't care the cost and chose the Melting Pot to celebrate. That was mistake.
Birthday dinner was nice with private room
Loved everything about our experience, with the exception of how long we were there. Better plan on staying awhile, but being this was my first time, it would definitely worth going again.
The Melting Pot is unique for Albuquerque--we don't have any other fondue restaurants. That being said, it's expensive for the amount of food you get. We went with our children (ages 12 and 14) to let them experience the fun of having fondue and cooking your meal at your table. The decor is sparse, the waitstaff are not great at getting your order correct, and the food is really not fantastic for what you pay, but our kids enjoyed the experience.
