The Melting Pot - Ahwatukee Ratings and Reviews
We told the server repeated that we had not been to the restaurant before but she would not answer our questions about how/what/how much to order or what our options were so we ended up with way more food than we wanted/could eat. We threw out 1/2 the filet mignon and couldn't get dessert because we had already ordered and tried to eat too much food. We had asked if we could get one of order of meat and she said each person gets there own. We asked about the Big Night Out package but couldn't get a straight answer out of the waitress. We had to asked over and over to get our empty water glasses refilled. It was really bad.
We typically go to the Arrowhead location, but because we were meeting one of our daughter's friends as a surprise, chose this location instead. Big mistake. First, we arrived early and were told that there was no way to get us in before our reservation time of 6:30pm. Not a big deal, until we were called back (at 6:30) and saw that there were only two other occupied tables. That was a minor annoyance. This was followed by a 30-40 minute wait in between each and every course. It took us over 3.5 hours to get through our dinner. We are accustomed to this dinner taking a while, and had planned for it, but this was a bit extreme. Especially after the salad course. We'd also put on the reservation that it was for an 18th birthday and had ordered chocolate covered strawberries. We did not get those, but after 3.5 hours, decided it wasn't worth it to even ask. Normally, for special occasions, the plates are written on for the celebration..and even though this is a small detail, it was disappointing that this didn't happen. I felt bad that this was our daughter's friends first experience. It was really bothersome considering there were no other tables in our entire section that had any guests. And the waitress that took over for our waiter during his break was not personable at all. She really didn't seem to want to be at work at all that day. Very disappointed and won't be back to this location.
Quiet, romantic setting with a curtain for privacy. Perfect amount of space for a couple to enjoy a fun make your own meal dining experience. Full course with wine is great for all in, but just cheese and chocolate is equally appealing. Perfect timing for course deliverance, and preparation is spot on. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food and a family or romantic couple environment.
Second time in one year . Very good vibe. Manager on spot to meet n greet . Very friendly and excellent care of our table needs & questions. It was relaxing no rush fun time. Our 18 yr old son loves coming here.
It is a great place for romantic dates, quite dinner, a small group of friends /family.
Business dinner is awesome . It’s so easy simple menu with a lot of options .
A little pricey . But check out Groupon fir deals
It was disappointing. We were in a large room, not cozy or romantic. It was my birthday dinner, but there was nothing special about it. The food was tasteless. No lemon butter sauce for the lobster. The filet mignonette was tasteless.
So disappointing after my wonderful fondue dinner at Lake Louise two years ago
This was great food, great service. Unfortunately we had a 6 month old baby with us. This is not the place for kids/babies. I was uncomfortable when he got fussy. You can't hurry the food, because you have to cook it. I would do it again in a heartbeat...without a baby. The waitress even offered to hold the baby so that we could hurry and eat our food. She was extremely kind.
We didn't feel like it was as good as it used be. it used to be a fancy place where you wore you nice clothes. Not short and flip flop. Plus the i though it was a place that was more romantic. The light were dim and that were the romance stopped. We sat next to a family of 4 kids with Kids YouTube on. I mean we got out to get away from that. For the price of the food which was $150 the food part wasn't that good. The dessert was amazing and even the cheese was really good but the food part was OK. Our server was outstanding. I remember it being a high end dinning and it was more like a regular dinner. If I come next time I'll make sure to eat before coming and only have desert or the cheese fondue and request to be in more secluded area.
Everything was great, as usual, except the service, which is usually excellent. Right off the bat, the server told us it was his 1st week waiting tables. Didn't inspire confidence. He forgot to bring our entree refill. Then forgot to get more broth to cook it in because we had waited so long it all burned off in the pot. It made for an even longer meal than usual as we waited for the server. We've been coming for fifteen years so we understand it's normally a long experience, but this was egregious. Maybe he was just having a forgetful night. Everyone has off-days sometimes.
We requested a table with two pots but were seated at a table with one, we had to wait 15 minutes but were able to switch. It seemed to take a little while to get our food when there weren't that many customers there. They did not have the french onion cheese that we get at home and did not try to make it. This was my daughter and son in law's first visit and not sure they will go back unless we are there and suggest it.
Although the food was tasty, it was really difficult to enjoy the evening due to the staff constantly coming by the table wanting to clear plates, and asking if we were done. When we actually needed something, no one was to be found; this happened on multiple occasions.
What should’ve been a relaxing meal felt very rushed. Really would love if the staff were outgoing, had some personality, and helped to make the evening relaxing and fun; however everything was very procedural, sanitary, and the overall attitude and unenthusiastic personality of the staff overshadowed decent tasting food, making us wish we could just forget the whole event.
Unfortunately, this was our first, and last, and only visit to melting pot, and that’s just sad.
Please, do yourself a favor, maintain a positive experience with fondue, and go somewhere else, anywhere else. The Melting Pot needs to mature before it can be considered an unique experience, fine dining or a destination for a special occasion … especially at these prices.
Everyone working at a high-end restaurant looking and acting like they're all teenagers? Irritating, interrupted every 4 minutes, by everyone who worked there asking way too many personal questions. Seemed like whoever was in charge told them all to maybe make more conversation? Annoying. Food was just okay. My least favorite melting pot by far.
Hostess was absolutely terrible. One of the worst I have ever dealt with at a restaurant. We might as well have been at Taco Bell. In and Out staff rate higher on energy and customer service. But our waiter CJ was more than fantastic and really helped to make our dining experience an amazing one. We were a big group with hangry kids and CJ was accommodating and fast on his toes to meet every need and request. Loved him!!!
We have dined at The Melting Pot for many years. We decided to go there to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary after seeing a movie last Sunday.
We arrived before our reservation time and waited at the bar while our table was prepared. My husband ordered a bottle of Bud Light (which was on display). The bartender brought him a can. My husband prefers bottled beer. The bartender had none of the bottled beers available that were displayed. He settled for a canned beer in a glass.
We were seated at our table fairly quickly. Our server, TJ, greeted us and ask us if we were celebrate a special occasion.
After looking over the menu, my husband and I decided we must have eaten too much popcorn and weren’t as hungry as we thought. We don’t like desserts, so the four course meal isn’t for us. We decided we just wanted cheese fondue and a salad.
TJ seem unhappy with our decision. He prepared our cheese fondue, brought us our salads and my husband had another beer.
My husband and I were visiting and reminiscing at our booth. The music playing was a Daughtry song, we commented to each other that we felt like we were at Applebee’s not The Melting Pot. The “fine dining” ambiance was missing.
TJ flew by and without stopping commented that he would get us our check. We hadn’t ask for it, we were thinking about another drink but okay we will leave.
Overall, it was a disappointing evening and not the place we remembered.
