The Melting Pot - Ahwatukee Ratings and Reviews
The Melting Pot is a place to go if you want more than just a meal, it is a real dining experience. If you order the four course meal expect to be there for several hours, although it won't seem that long at all. The food is fresh and high quality, and since it is prepared right at your table it is always hot and cooked to perfection. The participatory nature of fondue cuisine sparks great conversation, you won't see people staring at their cell phones. I can't think of a better place for a date night or group outing. It is pricey, so we generally only go on special occasions.
Some recent reviews of the Melting Pot Ahwatukee caused us to second guess our reservation... the restaurant was excellent to us in the past, but sometimes great places devolve into not-so-great places after years of operation. But after our most recent visit... this place still impresses us.
My wife and I finally had time for a date night. When we arrived we had a slight wait for a table, but were seated right before our reservation time (we did get there about 20 minutes early).
We were used to their traditional menu, but they have fund raiser menus that they regularly run. The Entree portion of these menus offer never-ending portions of meat, fish, and vegetables. We decided to try the special menu, and were presently surprised by the quality and quantity of food we received... especially the spinach and scallops... they were cleaned extremely well, no grit or sand at all.
The service was fantastic, prompt, checked back often, had everything setup for us to enjoy the evening with minimal fuss.
I highly recommend this for a date night, expect to spend around $160 for dinner, drinks and an 18% - 20% tip.
We went here for our 1st wedding anniversary and we were not too impressed .... they are very expensive for mediocre food. While it's a neat idea to cook your food in the fondue pot at your table the food was very mediocre.... at best. We waited at the host stand for 7 minutes before we even saw 1 person working and the service is very slow. They also sat everyone in the same section which yes might be easier for them but most people are going for a special occasion and want a little privacy. If you insist on going I would say only go for dessert.
We enjoyed our dining experience tonight for our 9 year olds birthday. Victor the GM was very hospitable and checked in with us several times to make sure everything was satisfactory. Stevie, our server as very sweet and paced our courses just right. We had a wonderful time together as a family and our daughter loved the experience. Thank you Melting Pot for a great dinner we won't soon forget.
No recomendations. Very lacking on intimate seating. Bar closed, more than half the restaurant closed for the evening. Rushed to table despite being early for reservations. Host was rude when we said we wanted to have a glass of wine at the bar. Slow wait service when escorted to table early. Seemed a lot of confusion, even when ordering the non four course meal we confused our waiter. As well the standard Swiss fondue was a challenge to be made. Burner not hot enough, difficult getting constancy, too thin. Been here many times as well the melting pot in other states. Will not return to this location, has really let itself go. Considering, most likely not attending another melting pot again. Bad review but honest. Thanks.
My dining experience at Melting Pot is always a 5 star. If I'm going there with a few girlfriends from work or just an evening out with my husband it's always a delicious and delightful ever time. They are always able to accommodate my carrot and tomato allergy taking it very seriously. I always request CJ as our waiter he by far is the ultimate fine dining waiter. I look forward to my next visit.
We are frequent visitors. Last month we had a yummy amazing time with family at the Melting Pot. However, this time we were disappointed to see menu changes, and $30 price increase per couple. Wow. Huge jump for a new menu(we didn't luv). Our service was still awesome and food was good. But we certainly didn't like the new changes.
Way overpriced for what you get. The server was removing food off of our table before we were even done. They even brought out dirty dishes and silverware the server didn't even come back to the table for 10 minutes I finally had a busboy take the dirty dishes and utensils back. Not once did I have anybody say anything about it . And the busboy didn't seem too concerned either. Don't spend your money here. The Decour is outdated and the food and drinks overpriced. I felt rush to pay the bill when the restaurant wasn't even busy. The server did not seem like he was very well-trained. Not a very good experience.
This was the worst dining experience ever and I have been to the Melting Pot many times in the past. I had noticed the last 2 or 3 times it wasn't great but I wanted to give it one more chance and that was a bad idea. Bad idea and dropped almost $150 ( no alcohol) for a gross dinner and left to go eat somewhere else after dinner here. That's not ok!!!!
The hostess was friendly when we got there. they seated us in a booth. after we sat down we realized it was covered in ants and other flying insects. she move this rather quickly to another table. the food was great our server was great. it was a little disappointing that when the manager came over and asked how everything was he didn't offer us even a free cup of coffee for the table to make up for the table covered in bugs. you don't go to a restaurant like that and spend over $50 a person and expect bugs. my friend who had been there for the first time couldn't stop talking about the bugs and I feel like it ruined her experience.
I am visiting my parents and wanted to take my mom out for a mother daughter outing. I moved and now I don't have a Melting Pot close to where I live now, and love eating there. It ended up taking 2 hours! I have never had an experience at any of the other Melting Pots I have eaten at. The waitress took forever to get the food to us and the first and second course where served at the same time. Otherwise, my mom and I had a good time.
The food is just ok. Nothing "wowed" me. The meat was very bland. It was very hot with those pots boiling. We were sweating. The booth only allows one way out and so if you're sitting against the wall everyone has to move for you to go to the restroom. The service was phenomenal! That I definitely loved. But the food is not worth the price or the time.
The service was sub par. Our waiter was not educated on gluten free. He asked us if pecans are gluten free...
Ask us to take a photo to post on their FB but didn't ask if we were happy with our experience. The waiter rushed us through our meal and seemed put out that we were chatting and not ordering quickly enough. The food was ok with the chocolate fondue being the highlight. The filet mignon was tough, very disappointing. Overall for spending $100 per person, not a good value.
We had wonderful service! It was our first time at The Melting Pot, and my husband and I really enjoyed it! It was a fun, romantic date where we could just spend one on one time together and enjoy delicious food! Thank you for the wonderful service, our waitress Amora (spelling?) was one of the best waitresses we've ever had! We will be coming back again soon!
Really went down hill... used to be my favorite place but quality and overall service is low. No more republic of teas, no more cauliflower for cheese? I eat low carb and was told it's too hard to prep and too expensive. The vegetables were stale as were the Dessert dippers. Very disappointing- this used to be a 5 star dining experience but it was rushed and comparable to fast food servers...
It wasn't busy but took 15 minutes at the bar to get a drink. The drinks sucked. We got seated and ordered more drinks. They tasted like drinking rubbing alcohol. ordered a different drink. It was even worse, if that was possible. The food was ok. Server was good. Not a good overall experience for the money spent.
