The Mediterranean Ratings and Reviews
I was rather disappointed in where we sat. Here was this new section, and they placed a group who fine dines regularly in front, then next small children. It felt like Chucky Cheese. My food was fair at best. We had a sweet waitress- she may have been the best thing about this place. However, I’m not sure I’ll be dining there again.
The Med has been our favorite go-to restaurant in Boulder for all 25 years it has been open. A reliable standby for great tapas and happy hour drinks. Because they extend happy hour prices to 6:30 pm, it's a frequent choice for us. Service is always friendly and almost always prompt. Food is eclectic and excellent.
The hostess at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I found the host next to her to be rude and condescending. He told us that our table would be ready at our reservation time. (We arrived 5 minutes early!)
we were just able to order a drink at the bar before we received a text saying to come back to the host station.
The food was not as reliably good as it has been for the past 25 years that I have been coming to the med to celebrate and meet friends. Not sure I would like to come again.
Friday night is perhaps the worst time to try a meal at The Med. It was packed, it was loud, our waiter forgot orders, it took longer than it should have to receive tiny little plates of tapas that were greasy and subpar. It bewilders me that this place received "top date night" and "top lunch" spot in Boulder's free weekly. It's a factory cranking out just acceptable food. Nothing more. But - maybe a great hook-up joint (?) Not great for a few family members getting together on a Friday night, yelling at each other to be heard over the din at a small table. There are so many better restaurants in Boulder - disappointed with the wasted calories.
Happy (25th) Anniversary to The Med! Been coming here for a good part of that time and our Happy Hour get together was - as usual - most enjoyable. Food was, on the whole, very good - but not at all sure of the tuna tartare (gulp). The drinks were excellent and pretty well priced and, even though the service was rushed off their feet, everyone was very attentive, helpful, friendly and courteous. The Med in my experience has, over the years, demonstrated continuously very high standards for food, decor, service and ambiance. This visit was on par with the best of them. Will we be back? Absolutely!!
After making reservations at a different Establishment in Boulder my friend suggested this place! So we switched gears and had our shared birthday lunch at the Med! I'm glad we did! I tried a sampler plate-yum and my friend tried a great looking pasta dish. While the food was GREAT, the service was even better. Our server, sorry I do not remember her name, was very aware of our conversation and did not interrupt as if she was the main attraction-which I really appreciate! Thank you for a lovely meal!
Went to The Med for a date night with my husband, looking forward to going to a nice place that offered a variety of dishes, including some vegan options. We arrived a little early for our 7:15p reservations, and they seated us immediately. Our waiter was excellent, he knew the menu and was able to verify which items were plant-based, dairy-free. I ordered the Vegetable Kebabs with charmoula sauce and sugar snap peas sauteed in oil instead of butter. A tasty light dinner. I
was wishing they had a heartier vegan option, like a chickpea tagine or something. Fortunately there was plenty of bread, so I didn't leave hungry. My husband ordered the Filet Gorgonzola and was pleased with his meal. The atmosphere is classy, but still relaxing. We look forward to eating there again soon.
One of the managers, Jason, called me shortly after we had left the restaurant. My friend had left her iPhone on the table. Jason knew to call me and my cell no., because I had made the rez on OpenTable. I just wanted to say thank you to Jason and the staff at The Med. We had a great dinner, awesome service, and a fun time. The icing on the cake, Jason taking the time to call me and leave me a VM. By the time my friend had walked back to the restaurant, her phone was ready to be picked up. #WeLuvTheMed
The Med is always a solid choice. The food is superb and there are many options to choose from. One of my favorite ways to dine here is tapas at happy hour but that's not to imply that ordering an entree or pizza isn't also a good choice, we're just partial to tapas because they're so fun.
They were able to accommodate our seating request in a less noisy area. We for in and out for tapas and happy hour ok our way to an event in Boulder. Service was great, brought all our appetizers out at various times to keep us fed. Love the sangria and cocktails but not much beer selection.
