The Mediterranean Ratings and Reviews
I've had both good and bad experiences at the Med. This one was kind of middle of the road - I had the chopped salad and a bunch of tapas. The chopped salad would have benefited from less onion and I will remember next time to ask them to forgo the onion. Service was very swift and nicely handled, so no complaints there at all. The food seemed a little lackluster. I have to add that I'm on the hunt for the perfect meal in Boulder, and so far I'm not finding it. I've had dinners in Santa Fe that just make me stop and wonder at the level of artistry in creating amazing food. So far in Boulder, no joy. I would still recommend the Med, and have had wonderful experiences there in the past.
We ordered from the tapas menu, and the variety of cold and hot tapas was amazing! Everything was delicious; we especially liked the ratatouille, the lamb skewer and the tabbouleh. We have dined at many restaurants in Boulder, and the Med remains my favorite!
We had an outstanding birthday dinner at The Med on a busy Saturday night. Our waiter, Sean, was friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was great, and all came out at the same time for 11 people. The Med's menu has something for everyone. The happy hour tapas are the best deal in town, and the menu is creative, with lots of fresh fish, chicken, meat and vegetarian options at reasonable prices. It's my favorite restaurant in Boulder!
As usual, the Med lived up to expectations. The entire staff is incredibly professional and helpful, making every effort to accommodate special requests. The food is consistently good, and the large offerings on the Happy Hour small plate menu make it difficult to make choices. Your really can’t make a bad one.
Consistently, this is one of the best eateries in Denver-Boulder.
Everything was wonderful ! We loved our food and had a great waiter.there were three of us and we all ordered different things and were all completely satisfied. We're from out of town and this restaurant was recommended by numerous people from boulder and Denver.
This was maybe my 50th time at this place...my family makes fun of me for liking The Med so, of course, when my friend wanted to go for her birthday, I was in. Unfortunately, just as we were enjoying an appetizer and a glass of wine, I saw a horrified look on her face. Before my brain could process what was happening, I heard a loud crash and , much to my surprise, a tsunami of ice water came down my back, running between my legs and dousing my purse . What can I say, there were shards of glass everywhere and people rushing to see if I was okay. Apparently, an entire tray of glasses had fallen over my head...let’s face it, it was water.. not lemonade and a beautiful, sunny day...I was fine , but resisted running the the bathroom because it looked like I had already missed that opportunity! Bottom line, they paid for our meal and I left our waitress a big tip and life went on...I’ll be back to The Med...but maybe I’ll bring an umbrella just in case! Cheers!
Food is ok. Hot small plates are the best. Service has really lagged the last 3-4 times we’ve been in. Once they forget to put a meal into the kitchen. Other times forgot drinks. The last time we had them box 1/2 a pizza and we waited 15 minutes and Then said something. They had just set the boxed pizza to go on a table on a random table and forgotten about it.
This is my new favorite restaurant in Boulder. This food was excellent. I have a mushroom ravioli dish that was exceptional. The service was professional and friendly and prompt. I like the atmosphere. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu.
We needed to move our reservation to a different time and they were very accommodating! The food was awesome -- our waitress was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It was also very convenient for us -- literally 75 feet from the door of our hotel (St. Julien). We were visiting from out-of-town and highly recommend it for anyone visiting Boulder.
This was our first time dining at The Med. We got there at 11 am so we could have a quieter time before the rooms filled up. It was perfect in every way: Our waiter, Brian, was an absolute gem; the food was fresh, flavorful, and lovingly prepared; the atmosphere was delightful; the experience was sublime. We live 30 miles away, but will happily return to this delectable spot time and time again!
Awesome as always! The Med has long been a favorite, and it never fails to deliver. We had plenty of amazing food, during happy hour, and we didn't break the bank. Friends from out of state wanted to come back to this specific restaurant as they remembered it so fondly from a few years ago.
Business Dinner, great sever attentive to detail, one entree was returned due to undercooked chicken, other 2 people nearly finished meal before replacement dish was delivered. I have eaten at THE MED for many years and the food quality has deteriorated. portion size on salad was SMALL but salmon fish on top was DELICIOUS.
Having just dined across the street at Brasserie the night before, this place was kind of a let down. Nothing was wrong with it, it's just that nothing was excellent. In other words, they get a B. We went for entrees and appetizers instead of tapas or pizza, so maybe they do better in those areas. The generic ambience doesn't help; it's hard to get a sense of atmosphere in a room the size of a high school gym. But the wait staff are very pleasant and helpful and the prices are reasonable so maybe this is a good place to bring the family (it's loud enough) and let your kids venture beyond burgers and fries.
We like the Med., so we were kind of disappointed with how loud it was that evening. They were extremely busy and the noise level was really loud. We sent the calamari back because it was overcooked and they brought us back another batch right away again that was still overcooked. When a restaurant is that busy they can't really do anything very good.
