Excellent fresh California food. The three hummus appetizer was outstanding!
We were married in the garden so we visited for lunch on the patio. The restaurant is under renovation so not much seating and we had to wait a bit.
Staff is so nice at this restaurant
Love the view Service was great and so was the food
Beautiful ocean views from the outdoor terrace seating. Brunch was quite good and reasonably priced fora hotel. Very friendly and professional service.
Everything was wonderful with ambience, friendly staff and excellent food. Unfortunately m, a road crew was shredding dead palm tree vegetation nearby and it was very loud.
Beautiful spot in La Jolla with great food and experienced staff.
Outdoor tables were too small. Moved inside for a better view and more room.
Great Classic hotel. Eggs Benedict are perfect.
I'm generally pretty skeptical about brunch however, I was pleasantly surprised at the Med. The food was delicious, plentiful, and reasonably priced especially when considering the locale as well as the holiday weekend.
Great service from Sam. Food was good with some great. Perfect portions. Great ambiance.
Linda vista y buena comida
Nice location but prices are steep...place is well kept up, and continues to have a great view
Fantastic meal with a warm, inviting ambiance. Great for a meal with family, friends, or for date night
Nice place, very good food and superb service.
Come back every time un la joya
Beautiful view & amazingly good food.
Good overall. Food wasn’t as nice as the venue and the drinks were high La Jolla prices. The outdoor patio is excellent. Without the ocean view this restaurant wouldn’t be worth it. But the view makes the prices okay
Lovely room! Dessert was disappointing- strange texture and temperatures as if it had either been sitting a ling time after being removed from the oven or had been pre- baked, refrigerated and then unsuccessfully warmed up. Beef tenderloin and mushrooms were delicious!
20 minute seating delay, hard on elderly parents. No enforcement of mask mandate (staff were masked, a plus). Music volume made conversation problematic, and wasn't seasonally appropriate. Wait staff were attentive and helpful. Ham entree was nearly flavorless (hard to do with smoked ham) and a beef entree was nearly raw and had to be sent back. Overall cost of $700 (including tip) was far above the value of the meal and venue.
Christmas Day at La Med was wonderful, from the festive decorations to the interesting menu options to overall warmth of the venue. Very European feel.
Very good food and service - great ocean views from terrace bar as well.
Awful awful awful!!! We reserved a table weeks in advance. At that time there was no pre fix menu. When we arrived we were seated in what appeared to be a banquet area and seated at a round table for 8 (there were 4 of us.) zero ambience. The fixed menu had 4 entree options. We each ordered one of them. With the exception of the beef tenderloin our food was AWFUL. Soup was weird, salmon undercooked and cold, risotto tasted off. It was our sons 30th birthday and it was a horrible disappointment. We did not order any alcohol or beverages. Our bill was $535!!!! No wine, apps, nothing but what was on the pre fix menu. $535!!!! Never again.
Update on 12/30
Spoke with V, the Food and Beverage manager about our experience. She was very sorry to hear we were unhappy and eager to offer a complimentary meal for my family to make up for a disappointing night. We are excited to return to The Med for a do-over!
Sat down and didn’t get a waiter/waitresses in an awkward amount of time.
Christmas Day - beautiful place but there was an egg shell in my brothers meal— cocktails were good, and the service was kinda slow, it wasn’t necessarily even busy at 11am on Christmas Day… but we waited a long time for water or for the waitress to come check on us, esp after we let the busboy know there was an eggshell in the meal

Classic San Diego setting, savory faire selection with service to complement. Thanks to the people who worked from those on the line to the guys at the entrance and everyone in between. They holiday decor and setting was beautiful. Good crowd too to keep this landmark location going strong.
It was a special Christmas!
Elegant. Quintessential La Jolla luxury. When you have something to celebrate or you just want to treat yourself.
Steak wass tough and overdone. Same with grilled veggies. Overpriced and overrated.
Overlit dining room, Ungracious (not rude) service. Long wait to be acknowledged once seated.
Lovely Christmas treat. Food was surprisingly good and service was friendly.
A perfect breakfast in a perfect place
We went for brunch. Had a great table overlooking the water. Food was very tasty and service was excellent!
The hotel ambiance was awesome . There were multiple families with loud kids and running in the dining room. This is an expensive upscale hotel. Sadly it diminished our experience. Not really the restaurants fault but it does change the experience. Everything g else was top notch especially the service and beauty of hotel.
Expected holiday decorations on table. However it was bare upon our arrival, even tho we'd made reservations several days earlier for seven guests.
Healthy choices on menu, brunch and lunch. People liked dishes with salads.
Two orders of waffles were served barely warm. Had they been sitting on counter before being served to table?
Courteous, professional wait staff.
Nice living room ambience, but too noisy for quiet conversation.
Beautiful view and good food. But the server was not focused and we had to wait a very long time 45 mn) for our entree after our appetizer.
The view was amazing. Service was good however could use some improvement. Overall good food and drinks.
Very disappointing return to The Med after many years, and a reminder of why we hadn't been back. There is no hostess to greet you and terrible service - we sat for almost an hour with menus and a glass of water before anyone came near us - and there was just one other table seated for lunch - a group of 14. When our food finally arrived there was no finesse to the service - no bread was brought or offered - we had to ask or it, no salt or pepper offered for our salads, and no dressing on the salads. I had to keep getting up to go find the waiter to get what we needed. Not even a three or four star dining experience! My friend's beet salad was probably one of the most boring salads I have ever seen...a tiny amount of salad served on a huge plate. And it was very cold in the room. I know we live in southern California folks, but when our winter temps drop into the 50's it is time to close the outside doors! A very disappointing experience overall....
We had a disappointing experience based upon bad information from a Med employee. We were coming for brunch with Santa. The Med employee told me the event was on Sunday when I made reservations. We showed up and ordered, only to learn the event with Santa was on Saturday. I asked about Santa and my server said it was yesterday. I explained that I was told Sunday. He checked with the manager and the only response was come back next week. Disappointing to spend about $200 for brunch for 4 adults and 2 small kids. I would not have gone for such a costly brunch with 5 year olds without a Santa experience.
We had brunch there for the Breakfast with Santa experience and it was soooo fun! The food was amazing, the view unbeatable, the staff was so nice and accommodating to my noisy kids, and Santa was so great! He stopped by our table multiple times and took lots of pictures. We will definitely be back next year.
