   We visited the McMillan for my sister in laws birthday and we couldn’t fault our experience. This was our first time visiting and the staff were very friendly & the food was amazing. We all went for the Sunday roast and the portion sizes were very generous and great value for money. We will definitely be back again soon !

   Last night (Saturday 3rd May) was the first time my partner and I sampled the McMillan, in a nutshell this place is outstanding. From start to finish. The food was cooked to perfection we had the chateaubriand 800g for 2 medium/rare with chilli and garlic king prawn skewer and the flavours were to die for. the staff were pleasant and attentive. Will definitely be back again. Having ADHD I struggle with noisy restaurants when you have to shout at each other to have a conversation as well as the distraction where you are eating your food as fast as you can so you can leave, however when you are in here there is a zen feeling to this place. So for anyone reading this who is hypersensitive to noise this is the place for you because you can sit back and relax enjoying the whole experience. 11/10 from us.

   Cosy restaurant with lovely staff. Delicious food. Can have a couple of great starters as a main. Best restaurant in Shawlands

   Very nice restaurant. We were there for the Sunday roast. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. In a booth so very private and quiet. Recommend.

   As always when dinning at this restaurant nothing goes wrong it's the best.

   Bit of a mixed bag, Sunday roast (chicken) was good, mixed grill large but good although steak medium rather than medium well, but tasty. Rib eye steak at £35.95 was not what a rib eye steak normally looks like, very flat and over cooked, medium asked for but most of it well done, really disappointing and not worth the money, also it was quite cold. Did mention to staff who said I should have said but had eaten about half on the search for the ‘medium’ so wasn’t worth the bother to be honest. Overall disappointed. Staff pleasant, although had to chase up drink order.

    We were celebrating our Engagement and chose this restaurant because we went when it first opened and a few times after when we lived nearby. I have to say I was disappointed. The starters were delicious but the steaks and sides were just okay - I've definitely had better. Quite an expensive bill for just okay. The restaurant was really busy so this could be why it was a little disappointing. The service was good but I don't think we will be returning or recommending anymore. I worked for a restaurant and when asked in the booking notes if a customer was celebrating a special occasion, we would always give some sort of acknowledgement like a free glass of fizz. The host did say Congratulations but that was it. I would never expect anything for free and always tip but why ask if it is a special occasion? Seems a bit pointless. We didn't tip this time because we had no change and the server just tapped the card and we didn't get the chance to add any tip which I would have done. Overall it was average. The servers are nice enough and it's VERY fast. So expect to be in there for an hour or so tops.
