The Marlborough Tavern
Food is essentially, though not slavishly, English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. Its food reputation is matched by their service - always friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and there's an extensive wine list and selection of local ales to choose from. The Marlborough's pub garden is arguably Bath’s finest; a walled courtyard space, that’s perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Great food and service, spotlessly clean premises. Great location just off the Royal Crescent.
We’d give 10/5 for our meal and service if we could.. will would now make any future visits to Bath fall on a Sunday just to have a roast again!
Lovely roast dinner and staff were very friendly and attentive.
Good restaurant standard food in a nice pub - for a pub I would rate the food as excellent. It is probably tending towards a bistro pub rather than a traditional pub in style and clientele.
The IPA was very good and well kept but a slightly wider range of real ale would be an improvement. Good range of other drinks and good coffee. I have been twice and will definitely come back.
Highly recommend if you're looking for that pub atmosphere but with a menu that has that little extra. The food was incredible and the they accommodated our two small pups perfectly. We were also running late and they were so helpful in making sure we would get a table.
Lovely food with good service. Went on a Saturday lunch time and it was not too busy very chilled environment wound not hesitate to recommend
Great food, with really good vegan options - the curry was amazing. The service was also excellent, can't fault anything
A great evening at the Tavern with excellent food and fantastic service. Scallops outstanding!
Very good lunch in a lovely location. Definitely low on staff, but those who were there were very good
Really lovely pub/restaurant. Staff were really polite & friendly.
Great food and service. It was a very pleasant evening.
Super nice and cozy venue ! Their Sunday roast is an other level
Tasty food, excellent service, a wonderful and friendly atmosphere
The best Sunday Roast we've had in a long time! Friend was right to recommend, enjoy.
Delicious Sunday roast. Pub roasts are usually fairly bland with dreadful tasteless gravy but here everything was well seasoned and tasty. The beef was perfectly cooked, pink and juicy and the veg just right. Great house red wine and good cheeseboard. We ordered one to share and it was plenty. We love the Marlborough Tavern - friendly service, buzzy but not loud ambiance and always fab food.
A pleasant location for a Saturday lunch with fine food, good wine and excellent service.
We enjoyed our visit and were made very welcome by our waitress. The table was in a ventilated position, with 3" of open window nearby, but by the end of our meal the ventilation was very poor and the door was not open during our meal. I should have noticed and asked for this to happen.
My dish, spaghetti with prawns etc., came just as it was with no frills and a tomato sauce. The prawns were rather dry and overcooked - they did not seem fresh. The flavours were good, but I would not order this dish again. My friends all enjoyed their dishes: cod, chips for two of them and a curry for the third. We will come back, as we had a lovely time and the staff were very helpful.
Staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble plus the food is always excellent
Lovely outside area for a hot day. Great service despite being very busy.
Unhappy with the food, it used to be so good here. King Pawns were overcooked and tasteless and poorly presented. the vegetable sharing platter was just a dump of overcooked tasteless aubergine and courgette, even the pickles were dull, how do you get dull pickles! but the bread was nice as were the Pokora's.
would i recommend to a friend? not at the moment no
The food at the Marlborough was very good. The garden is beautifully shaded against the hot sun. Service was excellent...staff efficient and friendly. Have recommended to friends.
We had a pleasant meal that didn’t take too long to turn up. Able to eat and chat with minimal interruption. A decent pub. I would consider going back.
We arrived early for our booking so enjoyed a cocktail in the outdoor area. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was delicious. Would return on another trip to Bath.
We had mainly starters which were really good and sat out in the garden area but equally would have been as nice inside
Lovely food, and superb service all at a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous food. Quick service. Really nice place to eat
It My 2 friends and I had a lovely Sunday lunch ….. but being super critical I think the Icecream dessert should have had a wafer and it would of been nice to have a small biscuit with our coffees. Otherwise it was a great meal.
Very accommodating and a covid safe environment. Service was excellent as wad the food and drink. A very reasonable price.
Beautiful venue and brilliant staff. Food portions are large and meals are traditional pub food done to a high standard. Will definitely go back!
Food was quite nice - menu was short and designed to have something to appeal to everyone, but without much choice.
Acoustics around the bar were appalling - you couldn't hear when cocktails were being shaken, but they moved us to a quieter spot with good grace.
Pleasant gastropub in good, convenient location in Bath. Good food and lovely service.
Lovely as the sun was out and we got to sit in the garden. Staff were great - nothing was too much trouble
Excellent attentive service and very enjoyable, well-cooked food in a nice atmosphere. We would definitely go again.
Great choices and food well cooked and presented, but slightly under seasoned. But would definitely return!!
Great food with brilliant service - the girls were so nice and super efficient without hassling you. Thank you.
Good food, and excellent Piston Broke beer.
I didn't risk Fish and Chips this time because I don't like more batter than fish
Very friendly and professional staff , beautiful garden . Were so lucky with Sunny weather so we had our lunch outdoor . Our starters ( duck breasts ) were absolutely delicious! We will come again to dinning with a such great atmosphere! You should be proud of your hard work !See you soon !
A really lovely pub and fantastic food. The desserts especially were very good. Would definitely return again next time we visit Bath.
It was a great visit with excellent food and drink from really nice and friendly staff
The best Sunday roast I’ve had in a very long while. Great service all round!
