Impressed with meal. Nice to eat at restaurant that goes beyond the basics and offers more inventive food.
Food was ok. I had the Lamb pasta which was ok. But not great. Service was good. The high tops were crammed against the wall. So not very much room for 2 for dinner. I’d go back after trying the many other restaurants.
Food was just ok. Nothing special. Wont go back.
Hi there. This was our first time at the Market Place and I must say it was wonderful. The scallops were cooked to perfection which is a delicate skill all to itself. We will definately be back again.....Thank-You!
Everything was great.
Will go back
Outstanding service and atmosphere and the food was local and very creative.
The Market Place, was at one time, the premier restaurant in Asheville. No longer! The atmosphere was dated, the food was uninspired, and the service mediocre.
Also, I find that a waitperson making his/her political leanings known to customers can be risky. It was in our case. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone anymore.
Great food and Dalton was an excellent waiter. The pork shoulder was terrific.
Great dinner with friends. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was that it was extremely warm and took a while.
We had a lovely dinner with friends. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful evening. The menu is great and service very good. Especially good was the seared tuna small plate.
Limited upscale menu. Fewer choices than we’d hoped. Veggies were good.
Everyone loved, everything! Pork maybe the best - but the parpadelle, trout and scallops were all amazing! Must go!
Risotto and lamb pappardelle were superb! Enjoyed the cheese plate as well.
Food was good. Scallops were PERFECT. We had our 4yo with us, and our server (dark-hair female who's name escapes me) was AMAZING. She was fast, helpful, to-the-point, and great with my son. She made the birthday experience for my Mother perfect. I have been in the service industry as a server/bartender for 13 years, and she was the highlight. Thank you amazing server.
Third or fourth time eating here. Great atmosphere, great cocktails very good food. We'll be back!
Took out of town guests to The Market Place for Sunday Brunch. It was fabulous. Our server was excellent with the coffee refills. Food was delicious
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!!!!!!
Apps and drinks were good. Had the pappardelle and pork meatballs as entrees and both were watery and lacked flavor. The alleged polenta was just grits and the sausage was dry. Not really worth the money.
Nice atmosphere. Worth another visit to try other dishes.
As usual, excellent food & service.
That’s why we keep coming back,
We were excited to try a new restaurant on our recent trip to Asheville, but were very disappointed. Wine was not good-even after being told we should try a different one than initially ordered. We ordered 3 appetizers and all 3 were bad. We were told the tuna appetizer was spicy, but it had no flavor at all- a few jalapeños were the only spice. The kale beet/orange salad had 2 orange slices and maybe 5 small pieces of beet and the kale was not even chopped and dressing had no flavor, the croutons were charred. The kale fritters had no flavor and the tiniest drizzle of sauce. The staff were undertrained. We will not be recommending. And by the way this is the first restaurant review I have ever done.
Share plate with chicken liver pâté and meat, pickled veg it’s absolutely mind blowing - all fresh and made on site
Absolutley excellent experience. Freshest most delicious food. Staff was wonderful and made a beautiful delicious appetizer out of my skimpy flowers I brought from a foraging tour!
This is a superb restaurant and is well located in downtown Asheville.
Not impressive for the price of breakfast.
good food excellent service we enjoyed the experience
We enjoyed a delicious brunch, eggs, sausage, potatoes plus my favorite, the banana bread French toast. The classic Bloody Mary was generous and delightfully spiced. The service was efficient and personable. I would rate it pretty highly among Asheville's copious options for brunch.
The food here was absolutely amazing, I loved every bite. The table got a cinnamon roll to share and we all devoured it, delicious. My Scallops and grits were sooo good, I’m sad I can’t eat that more often lol we were visiting Asheville on vacation. It would 10/10 recommend dining here. I plan on going back next time I’m there.
We had a great time... the food, service, and ambiance were excellent. We will be back!
lovely space. The service was slow and the food was good, but not great, especially for the price.
We enjoyed our dinner very much and would recommend the restaurant. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. The food portions were good and the meal was very tasty.
Very nice restaurant. The decor was modern. Service was excellent, we were only one of two tables occupied because we had 6 pm reservations (early).
First time dining here and we will return. My wife had the scallops and I had the pork shoulder. Both very good.
One of our favorite restaurants; we were glad to be back after more than a year's absence during the covid crisis. As before, it is quiet and peaceful with tables nicely spaced. And, as always, we had an excellent and attentive waiter.
We were less pleased with the food. The lamb papardelle dish was very good, the pan seared sea scallops with pork belly a disappointment. We don't expect huge portions (and don't want them) at a first-rate restaurant, but three small scallops and two (very) tiny pieces of pork belly? The rest of the not very ample dish consisted of small portions of roasted/grilled cauliflower, carrots and beets. Okay, but $32?
We're charitably assuming that there may be a problem in restarting the restaurant and we'll return and hope for the better.
Pretty good place for any occasion
Way too expensive for the quality of food. The menu is limited. We paid over $100 for the two of us and my husband’s steak was overcooked.
They’re very hard to work regarding a change to a side for an entree. And if there’s a big table, service suffers.
All of our food was delicious. The mussels were outstanding!
Went for brunch because the menu looked impressive. The food was mediocre and cold when it got to us, the service was poor. We ordered a cinnamon roll (which was burnt, and had no flavor), eggs Benedict (the cornbread was dry, the eggs were over cooked, and the ramp hollandaise tasted like nothing). Won’t be back.
The whole package. Relaxing ambiance, delicious food, great service!
We especially enjoyed the pork shoulder.
