Great evening, Dalton our server was great, mussels as an appetizer was in a great sauce, my wife had pork shoulder and vegetables and I had the brazed steak. All the food was cooked perfect. Wall St is a narrow street and parking garage is a must to eat here. Definitely a place to go
We ordered 3 burgers at lunch medium rare. They ran out of bread! So only two of us got buns. The burgers were definitely Not medium rare more like well done. We did appreciate that the chef made truffle fries for us at brunch time and those were great! I had great expectations and was very disappointed. Was the worst meal we had during our weekend in Asheville which has some amazing restaurants.
The food was delicious! It was our first time trying out this restaurant, and we will be back.
The food was amazing! I enjoyed the Shrimp & Grits, while my wife loved the scallops. The atmosphere was great. They followed the social distancing guidelines. They say us fairly quick. We had a great time at this place!
Our dinner was wonderful. Service was impeccable, beginning with the hostess who found another table to accommodate my recent injury that limited ability to walk up stairs. I highly recommend The Market Place.
The service here was unexceptional. The food runners appeared to be in bad moods and our server wasn’t very welcoming either. We were celebrating our anniversary as noted in the reservation request but there was no mention of that by anyone. Overall the food quality wasn’t bad but for the price I’d expect more. I got the steak and a third of it was so fatty it was inedible. My wife ordered the scallops and they tasted as though they needed to be cooked more. It was too expensive for what we got. There are many other restaurants I’d check out in Asheville over this one. I don’t plan on returning any time soon.
Celebrating a birthday and had a very nice experience!
Hostess was rude and we weren’t seated until nearly 10 minutes after our reservation. Once seated, took nearly 20 minutes before we were acknowledged and brought water. Server (not ours) mentioned specials and failed to take drink order. Our server finally came by about 5 minutes after water.
Drinks were good and food was decent. My wife’s salad had no manchego or cashews. Server spilled my sandwich on the table when trying to put the plate down.
After this brunch disaster, we cancelled out dinner reservations for that night.
10/10 would not recommend, server was inattentive. I sat there for a good twenty minutes with my cup empty, while the server refilled every other table. Definitely would not recommend, didn’t feel welcomed as a Latino. The food was overly average and un-tasteful for the price. My eggs were unseasoned and bland, the banana bread French toast was dry. Only thing enjoyable was the water and the potatoes.
Excellent food & service. Very responsible Covid protocols - temperate checks before being seated, servers wearing masks & gloves, non-touch menu via QR code on phones. All in all, a great experience.
Nice birthday dinner
Great service. Great food. Leo is an excellent waiter.
Picked this place based on the article in Bon Appetit. I wished I had done a little more research. Dinner was mediocre at best.
The menu had a good selection, and the food was executed and well prepared. The service was also very good.
Our best meal in Asheville! I will definitely come here next time. Just be sure to make reservations ahead of time we could not get in until her last night!
Good food and service!
My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious meal that was full of fresh ingredients and flavor. Our server was gracious and attentive. They had a creative cocktail menu that we greatly enjoyed. The ambiance was lovely, very clean, quiet, and stylish. I would highly recommend The Market Place Restaurant to anyone visiting Asheville, NC.
We loved it
Dalton was our server, and Justin was the GM on duty. Dalton was very kind and helpful as well as attentive to us. Justin made sure we felt welcomed and had great conversations with my boyfriend and I. Both made sure my boyfriend and I’s experience during our dinner was absolutely perfect. We ordered the truffle fries with garlic aioli as our appetizer and the fries alone were so tasty, but pair it with the aioli and they were heaven! Next we received our Mac and cheese, to be honest, I wish I ordered an extra bowl to go because I am craving it now as I write this. Next up was our dinner, we ordered the Brasstown Beef Strip Steak. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and was paired with a delicious sauce (a table behind us ordered extra sauce, it’s that good!) along side roasted potatoes and green beans, just as delicious. And it’s the perfect portion because by now, we were already getting full and still planning on getting dessert. To save the best for last is an understatement for the brownie with marshmallow fluff and ice cream. Before my boyfriend sat down he joked about ordering the brownie with a side of brownie. It’s the perfect dessert to end a perfect dinner. I wish we ordered extra of everything to take home!! We were beyond full by the end of our visit, and it was all definitely worth it and we will always come back to the Market Place. They never disappoint and the staff are always so friendly, it’s an amazing restaurant, one I recommend everyone to try. I promise you will not be disappointed.
It was just "fine". The food was ok, the service was pretty bad, the ambiance was wonderful. After the high reviews on OT I expected so much more. Our cinnamon roll was so dry we could barely eat it but our server was never anywhere to be seen. Biscuits and gravy were cold and flavorless. My husband like his steak and eggs so I would suggest getting that if you go. They were appropriately following Covid protocols.
Excellent service. Good ambience. Appetizers, main course were surprisingly good! Strongly recommend. Just two of us at dinner but the water and wine glasses were kept filled.
Superb service, warm atmosphere and exceptional cuisine. Very extensive COVID-19 screening procedures that made me very comfortable about my dining experience. Thank you Resturant Management.
The small plates are wonderful. I would highly recommend trying a couple. The grouper was done perfectly. Service was outstanding. Had a wide variety of wine and beer.
Food was ok, not spectacular. Expensive, small portions.
Food was good. Service for our dinner was slow. Restaurant was very busy. Tables outside are closer than 6 feet which was uncomfortable given Covid. Also people were entering the restaurant and being seated inside without masks as they entered and walked through the restaurant!!! They pretended to take temperatures of guests. My husband noted that the hostess didn’t look at the thermometer screen after checking our temps. They were allowing anyone to walk through the outside seating area since the hostess station was inside, creating lots of foot traffic through the restaurant outside space. Most people wore masks but not everyone and they were turned away. They aren’t enforcing the 3Ws. Uncomfortable meal experience. Won’t be back until Covid is over.
The food and service were great. I really liked the overall ambience of the restaurant, and the location was very cool. Great place!
Excellent food, but server was AWOL and not friendly. Drinks empty, no recommendations, and not even a "how is everything. Disappointing when his table ratio was low.
Food was great! We had the pork and I highly recommend it !
The Market Place was good but not great. Our server was very good, but I was just expecting the meal to wow me a bit more.
Girls weekend in Asheville and had the pleasure to eat at the Market Place. The food was excellent! Would definitely go again.
The menu and food was excellent. The staff were courteous and helpful. The ambience was very pleasant. The outside seating was great.
Overall a very good experience. We would definitely return next time we are in Asheville.
AmaZing meal. Love this place. I come often.
Place was perfect! Very cool hostess!
Phenomenal food! Owner thanked us for coming in. Great experience!
Great draft choices. Shrimp and grits and brunch was awesome!
Great outdoor seating, excellent brunch, fantastic service.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Asheville. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent! Highly recommend.
Tomato salad was the best. Enjoyed rest. Seated tables were spaced sufficiently for covid.
Greeted & seated promptly & asked if we were OK with the upstairs. Vince, our server greeted us instantly, ice water in hand. Greyhound cocktail was one of the best I’ve ever had. Vince was very knowledgeable about the wine list. The special small plate of fresh mushroom gratin was delicious. Heirloom tomato salad was fresh & flavorful. Grouper prepared perfectly. The Lamb Pappardelle was spot on & the wine Vince recommended paired perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed & highly recommend
