The Market Place Restaurant
Always enjoy returning. One of our favorites for date night
This is a wonderful restaurant in Asheville. The atmosphere is incredible, as was the service and food. I could not be more pleased with the entire experience overall. We will definitely be back.
Everything from the Service to the Food was Amazing!!! Thank you for a Great evening and Awesome dinner!!!
Excellent service but a little pricey....food was outstanding
As a local, The Marketplace is always my recommendation when friends are visiting from out of town.
Outstanding food. Interesting menu. I had the roasted cauliflower/quinoa salad (a great vegetarian dish) and my husband had the white bean soup and the eggs benton. Everything was awesome! The service was absolutely perfect.
Excellent cuisine, as always. Nice ambience. Good music. Excellent service.
Excellent meal, the special steak with au gratin potatoes was perfect as was the snapper. Great variety on the menu
Delightful food, atmosphere and service! Excited to return <3
We have eaten there several times and it has been great. However, their limited menu for Valentines Day was not very good. No bread or soup. The beet salad and venison Cavetti was awesome, but that’s about it. We had the filet mignon and it seem like they prepared it before hand and warmed it up prior to serving. Our steak was cold on the inside and too rare. Not what we asked for. They took it back, but it came back really charred to the point it tasted burnt. Not a good meal for $150. Sorry for the bad review. Maybe next time.
Can't say there was anything wrong with the food overall, but the prix fix menu itself seemed really odd for Valentine's Day and certainly non-inclusive for vegan/vegetarian diners, of which there are many who reside in Asheville; four entrees and not one without beef, fowl, seafood or lamb. In addition, the fowl was quail...quail has it's own flavor and many people dislike it, the rest of the general diners never have eaten it and probably wouldn't choose to try it when they would have to pay $65, the prix fix price. How nice, thoughtful, it would have been for the chef to have included something classy like layered veggies in puff pastry with an interesting savory wild mushroom sauce instead or in addition to the other four entrees. One of us had the beef tenderloin which was cooked perfectly and was tasty, but one quarter of it was grisly. We'll choose a different restaurant next time we want a special night out.
The beet salad, mac and cheese, scallops and venison were all superb!
The Market Place is a fine spot if you're avoiding long lines and crowds. It's a tad generic but good food overall.
I always bring my out of town guests to Marketplace because I know we will have a great experience. The scallops are my fav.
It’s always so good. The staff is awesome the food never disappoints and my God the drinks are the most amazing!!!!!
Market place is such a great place and has been for years. The food is creative and delicious. The service always great. Good cocktails. And one of asheville’s few restaurants where the noise level is low enough for conversation among diners. That is a big plus for me. Friends and good food. The perfect combo. And with the wall street garage so close. Parking is not the problem that it is in other parts of town. G don’t miss thiss lovely place or you will miss some of the best asheville has to offer. The food and service were excellent. The small plates gave us the opportunity to try multiple tasty dishes. The charcuterie plate, scallops and grits and Cornish hens were all delicious! We enjoyed the homemade limoncello and Prosecco to start. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience!
Super friendly and welcoming staff and the food was amazing. There was a person playing a guitar and singing really nice dinner music
Great food. Service excellent.
Went from quiet to loud due to one table. I wonder if there’s a nice way to remind people there are other guests trying to converse.
Had a very good dinner of trout. Salad was a bit disappointing.
Great service, food and experience!
Excellent food and service. Highly reconmend
Seafood stew (cioppino) that I had was superb. Everyone loved their food. The charred beets were exceptionally good, too. I really like the apple crisp which was a nice balance of tart and sweet with raspberry puree and ice cream. Will definitely return soon.
Was not at all what we had imagined based on reviews and information available online. We ordered 1 drink and respectfully left to go to another restaurant. The waiter was 100% understanding and assisted us in finding something more our taste.
Service and food was exceptional. Thank you for another great experience.
The food and service was excellent. Thanks... S/
Wait staff attentive and responsive, squash fritters outstanding, salad and trout excellent. Desert not bad but not to level of rest of meal.
Sat upstairs and had a lovely evening. Waiter was attentive but not overwhelming. Food very good, small portion size. Could have used another scallop or some bread.
Truly enjoyed the meal and service was very good. Highly recommend!
Waiter gave great food and wine suggestions. Lovely atmosphere.
First time. Loved it! The venison was delicious. The ambience and service were outstanding. Can’t wait to go again.
Excellent service! Gorgeous but yet cozy!
Wonderful! We had a selection of small plates and the best dessert! Great service and cocktails too! Highly recommend!
Solid. Nice work.
were in town for the night celebrating my husbands birthday. loved the atmosphere and the food was delicious!
Wonderful find. Great atmosphere. Fresh from the farm. Creative menu.
Food was incredibly delicious and service was excellent. We ordered multiple small plates to share which was similar to a tapas experience. Location and interior is attractive. Will definitely go back as well as recommend to others.
Excellent food and service.
The atmosphere was great but unfortunately, the food was technically flawed. I got the spinach omelette and the spinach was all in one side of the omelette with totally raw spinach (like from the fridge). They also didn't give me anything to eat with my biscuit! My husband ordered the steak (medium) and eggs, and unfortunately his steak was WELL DONE, his poached eggs a bit undercooked, and his sweet potato hash quite raw. The cocktails were excellent, and it's a bummer the food wasn't better.
Brunch was great...and so was service...
