Service and cocktails were excellent. Menu seemed limited compared to past selections. Charcuterie board was disappointing , also compared to past servings. Hopefully it will change for the better with the spring menu.

In the past, Market Place was a regular stop for us. Still go there a couple of times/year. The menu has changed very little over time, with some seasonal appropriate adjustments. Biggest issue is that the food is less inspiring and more on the bland site that it was a few years ago. I would still recommend MP, with the caveat mentioned above.

This is not my first time at this restaurant. Decided to try it again. For the same money, I could have gone to the Red Stag. My steak was cooked properly, but for $50.00, it had too much fat (waste) and the root vegetables were inedible. My wife’s tile fish was delicious. Maybe next time, stay with meals under the sea.

Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food, impeccable service — everything was absolutely delicious, the house made limencello, charcuterie board, the Indian vegetarian entree, fish of the day, mac and cheese - all divine. highly recommend!

Hostess could be friendlier, didn’t seem happy to working at all. Rob our waiter was super gracious and took great care of us. The guys who bring around water were also very friendly. Brunch was delicious!

The Marketplace never disappoints. We've been going there for over 20 years - back before Asheville became a foodie destination. It was a lovely meal, the pork shoulder melted your mouth, the soup and brussel sprouts were delightful. The beet salad was not super exciting, but fresh and well prepared. The pumpkin ravioli themselves had no flavor at all, but were more than made up for by the incredible mushrooms and garlic sauce. Our only group criticism was that the "winter margarita" was way too sweet and it was impossible to taste any complexity from the alleged cinnamon and lemon. But we drank them anyway!

I hardly ever write reviews. However, this was the most remarkable brunch experience I’ve had in recent memory. Our server, Fran, was super helpful, confident, personable, and efficient. Our food was delicious - particularly the bologna sandwich and the lobster and mushroom omelette. We thoroughly enjoyed the music selection as well. We will definitely be back.

We have eaten at the Market Place several times in the past years and everything has been outstanding. So is was quite a surprise to find the service and the food not so perfect 2/18/223. We ate early and although the restaurant was not crowded at that time the wait for our order to be taken and then served was longer than normal. No apologies from the waiter! The salad was not dressed well and tasted bland and oily. The trout entree was excellent however the accompanying sides were a disappointment. The charred brussel sprouts were burnt and the shiitake mushroom spoonbread was very dry. I am hoping this was just an off night. I have had too many fabulous meals there not to give it another try.

Wow, can't believe we let so much time pass before getting back here. Amazing, creative menu, beautiful room, and fabulous service. And all of that during what we typically refer to as "the amateur hour" (aka Valentine's Day), because so many restaurants just dial it in. This is a hidden gem in the downtown area of Asheville NC. I had friends come from Charleston SC and they found this restaurant online. We were pleasantly pleased. The service was wonderful and the waitress was so attentive. The food was absolutely fabulous. We stayed late and would’ve stayed longer had they not closed. Perfect food, location and service.

I had the steak, my son had the quail and we both decided to have the brownie dessert. All of it was absolutely delicious. I mentioned that it was my son's birthday and they actually gave him a birthday card! Great experience!

New Year’s dinner was not a good experience. Our waiter was MIA for most of the dinner. We had to ask another waiter to serve us. So, basically we were forgotten. They did apologized, however when our main course was brought out it was cold and tasteless. We were rushed to eat. Very disappointing.
