Crab cake over sautéed. Lobster bisque had very little flavor. Great dessert and cappuccino. Nice menu. Great service.
I always look forward to an opportunity to dine at The Marisol and they never disappoint. I am looking forward to my next wonderful experience at the Marisol!
Absolute perfection. Food, ambiance, service. We never miss eating here when in Greensboro.
Comfortable environment with excellent service. The food was outstanding starting with Crab Bisque followed by NC Snapper. A fine meal and lovely evening.
Our favorite restaurant, always a fantastic dining experience
The food was outstanding as usual, but the service was rushed at first and then slow, erratic overall. We consider ourselves to be regular customers here and we had one of our favorite servers. But we did not feel welcomed that night from the time we walked into the door. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and the restaurant had been informed of such, but they seemed not to care in their service for our table of five. Because there were gifts presented, they seemed irritated to have to deal with that interruption. And they didn't deal with it. They just went right along with their service, not noticing what was going on at our table. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, not busy, with only one other 4 top table seated later and which they seated right next to us. We purposefully came very early when the restaurant opened so we wouldn't be in a crowded room when we wanted to reminisce and open a couple of gifts and so we wouldn't impact the service for ourselves or others. They left the bottle of wine we ordered on the brick fireplace and did not pour more than once, so we did not see the bottle until leaving when it was knocked over and spilt. Our children were very disappointed in the evening they planned for us, particularly because this was the restaurant we said we wanted to go to!
Highly rated restaurant and the food was as promised. However, the maître d and server was brusque and rude. We would ask for something and he would walk away instantly and left us wondering if he heard. He did hear and fulfill our needs, but he was obviously put out that we were there and kept pushing both food and order choices at us. Amazingly as we were one of the two last tables left before closing, he summarily turned the lights up bright.
The food was fine dining, the price was accordingly, but it might as well been a lousy McDonalds for service and the rude treatment. Shame on the restaurant for allowing this.
When the chef can prepare food up to the level her bartender can make a cocktail, then the prices she charges will be justified.
One of the best meals I've ever had in my life. The chef/owner, Robin Upson, offers an incredible array of amazing dishes from her kitchen. Our server had the entire menu memorized, and offered terrific guidance and suggestions throughout the meal. From the fresh-baked bread, to the truffle-flour gnocchi (out of this world!), all the way through dessert - everything was spectacular!
Outstanding job for Robin and her staff. The worst part is having to decide what not to eat, because it all sounds so wonderful and I haven’t been disappointed yet.
Small bistro environment. Few if any of the tables could be called “secluded.” The food was amazing and our server was very helpful in narrowing our choices when asked. Didn’t have the opportunity this time to enjoy their cozy piano lounge but could seeing us coming back just for drinks. Our pre-dinner cocktails were poured in the classic style with a heavy hand. This place is perfect for the true gourmand looking for something a cut above the typical Triad dining options.
We give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 for food and service. There wasn’t a bite we didn’t enjoy. Quite expensive but well worth it, especially for a special occasion. Very sophisticated menu. The duck is outstanding!
The best in greensboro! So good went two nights in a row. Service and food were amazing! Will definitely be back.
Second visit- just as great as the first. Superb food and excellent service; great atmosphere.
The food and service was on point. Waiter was knowledgeable and each course came out with perfect timing. We will be back to enjoy again.
The food was outstanding. The menu offered items you don't often see in Triad restaurants -- nothing too exotic, just very upscale and done with great attention to detail and ingredients. The wait staff was excellent as well. Good wine list.
Loved the atmosphere. Food was expense, but excellent. Many choices of fresh caught seafood; large number of different choices to pick. Nice wine list; excellent desserts. Truly enjoyed our anniversary celebration; would return for another special occasion .
We have been dining at Marisol for over 10years now and each time is even a little better than the last. The menu is forever changing and morphs into whatever the chef can find that is fresh and in season. Heather has been our server since our very first time and even if we go for a long period without coming in she never forgets us and what our favorites are. When she recites the menu of the evening it’s like someone reading poetry. My wife and I joke that we never look at the menu because every night there are so many specials, some delicacies, that it’s a waste of time to bother looking. This restaurant is pricey but way worth the culinary experience as well as the wine choices.
The food was good, but I think it was extremely overpriced. The entrees were around $40, but did not include a salad. The "sides" that came with the entrees were small portions and were all the exact same (and nothing to write home about). Salads were an additional $10-12. If the entrees came with specific sides and were served with a basic side salad, then maybe ~ $40 would have been appropriate.
This was my 1st time to the restaurant. The food was phenomenal. The lamb just melt in your mouth and all you needed was a butter knife to cut the filet. The cauliflower soup was out of this world and to top the meal off - the Scharffen Berger Liquid Center Chocolate Cake for desert was an absolute winner. Service was excellent. Definitely will go back.
This was our first visit and we were wonderfully pleased. We were celebrating my mothers birthday and it was a great choice. The oysters were to die for and I usually am not a fan of oysters. Everyone was beyond pleased with their food. Our waitress was beyond amazing. We will definitely be back.
Visited on 09/02/17. This is truly a gem for this area. Service was absolutely old school perfect!! The food delivered wonderfully. Fresh, exciting dishes were outstanding. Cannot say enough good things about our visit.
The meal was delicious. The service was excellent. Worth the price.
Love this place. The food is consistently great, and portions are generous. The decor and layout could use a refresh (it really can feel like dining in a storefront with the wicker screen as the only partition) but typically I am more focused on my company and my meal. Great and knowledgeable staff.
The menu, food, service, and overall execution of hospitality principles make The Marisol a big time dining experience worth the drive from anywhere in The Triad. Highly recommended.
The food was okay, not great. Our waiter was extremely rude. I asked for the price of a special and he was nearly apoplectic. He attitude was obvious. The place was lovely. The price would have been okay if the food was great.
The Marisol is the standard to which every dining experience is compared...as special as this place is one must ask why dine anywhere else? I couldn't afford to eat here daily, but with the impeccable service, and delightful and flavorful creations this place is an amazing value. My favorite. I wonder, "why has it been so long since we last dined here? "
The food was mediocre in taste and drinks were rediculously overpriced. $16 for a house vodka and coke. The staff is Amazing tho. Very knowledgeable of the menu and service is superb.
Great environment and excellent food... great service, awesome wine list!
Our favorite and our waitress is absolutely fantastic.
