The Marine Room
Excellent food in a wonderful setting
Lobster night was phenomenal! Definitely will be back.
Excellent as always
Food was delicious, view is nice. Will definitely be coming back
Fantastic, as always. Reserved well in advanced and they honoured my request for a table by the window. Food was superb, although wish they had tried harder to accommodate my vegetarian wife. Will return here, as often as possible!
The food was excellent my duck was very well prepared the flavor was excellent and the atmosphere and view was excellent.
My wife’s scallops were great too.
The Marine room is always on point. Never lets us down. We like to celebrate special events here because it is a perfect place for special events and fantastic memories. With the view to match.
Tastes lived up to the spectacular presentation! Hostess and server were courteous, attentive, and professional without being stiff. Waves were too small to hit the glass even at high tide, which is much better for digestion 😆
Great ocean view delicious food very sophisticated with nice presentation thumbs up for the chefs.. friendly server we loved it we will definitely be back
We were early for reservation and given option to be seated. So being seated early we wanted to take our time so we could see the tide come in. Was no problem for our server. He timed every to our likening and we enjoyed a great post VD dinner. One of our favorites.
My husband and I went here for their Valentine's preset menu. While the food was good, the ambiance was not romantic in any capacity, though it was quiet it felt quite crowded, and felt anything BUT intimate.. This experience was nowhere near worth the $165 per person they charged. There are far better fine dining experiences that are deserving of such a hefty price tag. Extremely disappointed and very hesitant to ever revisit again.
Tnks! My Wife and I had a excellent Dinner/evening
Still the most romantic restaurants in San Diego. The view is perfect and the food was as great as ever.
Everything at Marine Room was perfect. The reservation was on time and seated us on schedule. Hostess was polite and friendly. The waiter explained the dishes to use also very polite. The food was good.
Our reservation was at 845 and was not seated until 930. Food was not warm and not worth the prix fixe menu price! You are really paying for the view!
Waited an extra ~20 minutes to be seated.
Soup came out almost cold.
Duck came out cold.
My wife waited ~30 minutes (which they comped-thank you).
I wish this place lived up to the hype. We were really excited to be able to try the prix fixe menu but unfortunately they seemed very busy, which causes service to lack and thus the experience to be far from expectation, especially with the price tag.
Not much as changed in 30 years, same decor, carpet smells, very dated. Food wise, beautiful, presentation, but small portions and mediocre taste, severely overpriced even for a holiday prix fixe. Can’t think of a reason to return, sadly.
Totally disappointed. Trying to be a high end restaurant but doesn’t deliver. We had the valentine day fixed menu and the only good course was the salmon sashimi which they didn’t have to cook. Dinner cost 550 and would never go there again. Salad was week and wilted and the soup was very pungent. Lobster tails were under done. A Total bust.
Took the Mrs. out to dinner for Valentine's day. Nice evening.
Valentine’s Dinner was amazing.
The staff was excellent. The view of La Jolla Cove was beautiful.... Amazing food and amazing service.
Great food, great service, great location... very thoughtful wine list.
We had a wonderful meal. The service was exceptional.
Had another lovely experience at the Marine Room!! The food is always so delicious and the service impeccable! We often come here to celebrate special occasions!
Our server was very helpful. The food was incredible, as was the wine.
Outstanding in every way! The food and service are top-notch; and there is not a better view at any restaurant in San Diego. Highly recommended.
It was pretty with the water so high but it was very crowded and the buffet was underwhelming
Brunch was delicious, as always. It was so nice to see Matt, and we are honestly still a bit stunned by his generosity regarding the wait we experienced the month before. Great food, fabulous atmosphere, and outstanding service! We continue to spread the word about the Marine Room!
Attended the High Tide Breakfast Buffet. At that price ($60/pp + 4% upcharge), I expected higher-end buffet offerings like crab legs, shrimp, etc. Fiod was good but ordinary buffet fare.
Enjoyed high tide brunch! Waves crashing against windows. Felt like you were on a ship just without movement. Food was good, unique items. Service amazing.
This was our first time with a high-tide breakfast. My wife and I were blown away by the whole experience. Great food, great ambiance, great time watching the crashing surf, and, as usual, great service.
Great staff. They took such good care of us and the food tasted great. Thank you for such a nice experience.
Hi Mark, We are so happy you all had such a great time with us on Saturday. I will definitely pass on to the entire Team and your Server. Thanks again for the kind review and we hope you will come back soon for another treat at The Marine Room. Warm Regards, The Marine Room Team
Had a table by the window with a great ocean view. Server was great and attentive. At $35, I found the corkage fee to be excessive. We much prefer our own wine favorites over the unknown choices at the restaurant.
Overall a nice experience for our anniversary celebration. They even provided a small dessert in celebration.
This was another amazing experience at the Marine room with immediate seating at 5 o’clock with an ocean view room, great service from the L, or wait staff, wonderful food, great attitude, we brought our own wine and of course were willing to pay their corkage fee, highly recommended remains in the 555 star category
My wife and I enjoyed an early Valentines Day experianc extraordinare. The staff were particularly attentive and pleasantly cheerful. The food was flavorful and beautiful in presantation. Speaking of beautiful, I must mention the view. I mean for a location in La Jolla to not be able to mention the view is to not describe a place in La Jolla. But this view is most worthy of the title bearing any recognition to Californias coastal waters. Strident cliffs with pristine ocean waters to leave a less familiar patron to wonder in awe at the majestical rhythms which can be found at only a few feet from our table. This place is one of enchantment. To be anything else, well it simply would not be California, much less La Jolla. Thank you Marina. Enjoy America. These are gifts worthy of living.
The food was excellent. I highly recommend the high tide breakfast.
What a treat, the ocean hitting the windows (gently), the views from the window were exceptional and the delicious decadent buffet was above and beyond. The service was exceptional and inviting. Everything was evenly matched what a wonderful calm way to start the weekend.
This is the second time I've gone to the high tide breakfast, very enjoyable.
This was my second visit during high-tide brunch. The food was great - the bread pudding was delicious! This place does not disappoint when it comes to ambiance and the views and possibly the main reason I continue to come here. The staff is always very friendly and attentive; our cups/glasses were never empty. However, they neglected to pick up the used plates in a timely manner - at one point we had to stack our plates and move to the side which was difficult being that we were sat at a small table for two - also not very attractive to have stacked plates at the table at such a nice restaurant. I must bring up the dress code - yes, this restaurant has a dress code posted on their website but unfortunately they do not enforce it. This is the second time that I observe ladies dressed in work-out leggings and running shoes - someone specifically was wearing a long grungy sweater and floppy hat, this did not hide her work-out tank top, leggings, and running shoes. I really hope the restaurant improves on this. One recommendation I do have is a carving station - it would be a nice addition.
