    I’ve eaten here a couple times over the years. Once we seated, we had to wait a few minutes for someone to introduce themselves and ask us about water. He was kind and pleasant, but you’re at a restaurant, and this is about your food experience. If you want to sit near the windows, you’ll find that the air conditioner is blowing directly on you, making you and your food very cold. They say they can’t change the thermostat and they know it’s cold because they will offer you a shawl. It was very quiet and the ambience was lacking. Nice music in the bathrooms, but nothing really in the dining room, making it a little uncomfortable for a quiet table.  Almost all of us had fish, and it was very good, but not really worth the price, in my opinion.

    It is a unique culinary and artistic experience to eat at the Marine Room -Outstanding creative menu items placed so beautifully on the plates. The service was exceptional. Jonathon took time to explain each menu item in detail. And the ambience cannot be beat.

    Ok place, would recommend Island Prime over this. The biggest selling point is the waves coming in at seating level view. The food is meh.

    Highly overrated. It is nice to look out the window and be on the same level as the waves. But keep in mind that swimmers will put their stuff on the ledge outside. The food was poor for a fancy restaurant. I am used to fancy restaurants being ala carte, ordering a main dish and several side dishes. Imagine my surprise when the Steak and Lobster came with a vegetable medley and potatoes. I was delighted when the waiter offered us complementary onion brisk. Disappointed when it was served on a tablespoon. The lobster tail was nice sized but rubbery. The steak was a petite fillet mignon, but not the quality you would expect. The vegetable medley turned out to be one small, boiled onion and one small, boiled tomato. I guess a 'medley' means 2 or more. And we had a small drizzle of mashed potatoes. Not what my date was expecting. Needless to say, I will spend my $150-200 per person somewhere else from now on.

    The marine room never disappoints! This is my second time coming and it was for my birthday! Food is always amazing and the staff are wonderful. The view this time from where I sat was amazing. Definitely coming back again soon!

    The atmosphere was very good. The service was delayed & the men were served dinner before ladies. The food came out at different times not at one time together. The filet mignon was all fat, we ordered an appetizer for the table and didn’t get it. The portions for what you are buying were small. Definitely won’t go back to recommend

    You can’t beat the view here. The food and the service is unmatched. Recommend booking a reservation along the window before sunset. I recommend the lobster!

    I went as a solo diner and had the time of my life. I was seated in a booth next to an amazing view of the ocean. I was treated like a princess! Everyone was lovely. That included the hostesses Jennifer and Delaney who made me feel welcomed. John M was the absolute beau of the ball as the main server. Ellie also helped serve and was as delightful as a San Diego sunny day! Antonio was just as lovely explaining the components on my dish. Nicholas was nothing short of charming when he came to chat despite the dining room being full. The food and drinks were BEYOND AMAZING. Top tier quality and presentation. I started with the risotto, then had the waygu with potatoes, and panne cotta for dessert. It's been almost 20 hours and I'm still full! Worth every penny.

    Requested a table with nice view to celebrate my wife’s and my anniversary. We were seated in a corner table with obstructed views. There were plenty open tables with window seats around us. Disappointing for the occasion we were celebrating.

    Tables very close together, conversation is easily overheard, waiters are attentive but not very friendly and would get very close to our table while taking another’s orders. The hosts and the food were fantastic. A couple flies also came around our table while we ate

    The entire dining experience was excellent. Candice and Andrew were wonderful. Both helped tremendously with food and drink recommendations. The steak and seafood was prepared perfectly although one steak was overcooked and quickly replaced. The view right on the ocean was beautiful and dining as the sunset made it even better. We will return again. Hopefully to Candice’s and Andrew’s section.

    Peter made sure that our experience from beginning to end was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, we were thrilled! Even in bad weather we were still loving the view. The service was truly impeccable and made our ten year anniversary feel like we were celebrating our first. Thank you all!!

    The Marine Room is a stunningly beautiful location right on the water in La Jolla shores. My wife and I go for very special occasions like birthdays and wedding anniversaries. It’s an hour’s drive from our home so well worth the effort. The service, once seated, is very attentive and professional. Mostly Mexican waiters that know the food and wine selection very well. My wife had the halibut and it was excellent if pricey, of course. I had the scallops and prawns though there was only one prawn cut in half and seriously over cooked, I’m afraid. The three scallops were delicious and on a bed of quinoa with a thin layer of squid ink. Very nice. At $65, again, pricey. Still, they gifted us a slice of cake for her birthday and all was well with the world. Will definitely continue to visit.

    Had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Their staff is well organized and does a great job managing where guests are located throughout the restaurant. The food was Devine and we savored every bite. They were accommodating and thoughtful. The best part of the entire evening were the views! They are spectacular! You can enjoy the views while you await your table in the hostess areas. They have comfy stools for you to sit, relax and take everything in. You can also ask to be seated at the bar while you wait for your table. They will help accommodate first come first serve.

    The new version of Marine Room is a step down compared to former chefs. Gone is a signature Cesar salad prepared at the table. Too much Asian cuisine influence with unnecessary spice. The entree and starters choice is limited compared to before. The wines chosen were not available x2. The setting is unbeatable though.

    We were underwhelmed at every stage of our meal. The environment consisted of a table in a dimly lit corner near the kitchen. The staff seemed less than enthusiastic about being there, food was fine, although I received a completely different dish than I ordered. Plus, other patrons were intoxicated and talking loudly using profanity - not the place to do so. For the same price for a couple I suggest Animae downtown.

    We had the most fantastic experience. From the gentlemen who was working in valet when we arrived, to every single person we came into contact with, it was an absolutely spectacular experience! Peter was wonderful every step of the way, and I'm amazed at how we were treated. Bravo you guys, seriously... Thank you!

    Waiter was not the friendliest, he was snobby and when they brought out our guests wrong dish, we all had to wait with until our guests food arrived about 15 mins later and ate cold meals. Waiter did not offer any type of reimbursement or anything for this inconvenience. Not what we expected from such a fine dining San Diego landmark.

    I ordered the table three months in advance. I asked for a table by the window, but they gave us one in the middle of the hall. The smell in the restaurant is musty. and the food is highly overpriced

    Exceptional in every way. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the salmon tartare, kale salad, swordfish and mushrooms could not have been better. The view and experience can not be overstated. Our first but certainly not last time
