Wonderful food and service in a beautiful setting.
Stunning ocean views and sunset was great 😚
It was a milestone birthday for my mom. From the moment we arrived, everyone wished her a happy birthday. Our table had an unobstructed view of the water, and later, the waves crashing against the windows. The service was impeccable and the food and presentation were perfect,
We had a great time and would recommend it to a friend.
A+ Service, excellent food, staff and ambiance, amazing scenery. Must visit
Wow just wow. Amazing experience. Definitely recommend. High tide sunset. Worth the planning
Except for the glorious SoCal sunset that evaded us (June gloom at its best tonight), we couldn’t have asked for anything better to celebrate our 38th anniversary. We were seated at the booth next to the windows for a breathtaking view. From Michael the pleasant valet, to Edgar our incredibly attentive server who never made us feel rushed, to Sébastien the manager - all made our special occasion memorable. The chef’s beautifully presented dishes were delicious! We had the scallop appetizer, lobster and sea bass dinners, lavender lemon cake and cappuccino cobblestone pie for desserts. Everything perfectly cooked. It was a romantic and wonderful evening.
There was a dress code which we didn’t know about and was all almost impossible to find on the website or the app. totally fine with dress codes but they insisted on seating us anyway after telling us we weren’t dressed properly after a day at the beach and sea world and it was SO uncomfortable. Why mention it if you were going to seat us anyway?
Great place to eat with a beautiful ocean view. You can ask to sit by the window but it seemed like you could see the view from anywhere in the dining area. Food was delicious!
Love the restaurant, food and service are outstanding.
The interior ambiance is getting dated though. Would be nice to see upgrade in the interior.
It was amazing food. Great service and such a lovely surprise, they brought out a birthday dessert for my daughter.
The Marine Room was very nice. My wife and I were seated right by the window within seconds of arriving! Fresh Tupperware was brought out for each course of the meal, as appropriate. The staff were attentive and frequently, but never intrusive. Finally, the desert was presented in recognition to my wife and I’s anniversary; which we did not mention when we came in. I had only mentioned that detail while making the reservation!
We were very pleased with our experience!
View beyond words. Food presentation was artful and beautiful
Jonathan and Sumner were very helpful and great service
Outstanding food and atmosphere right on the Ocean, the views are AMAZING! Celebrate our 8th Anniversary
I was the host of a 10 person group, we are in our mid 30s and dressed business casual. and to start the evening off they told me that they could fit us at one table, but then split us up upon seeing us.. two folks in party that were a little more casual and the manager came up to is and told me that they would serve me, but next time we would be refused service. The wait staff was curt and dismissive, one of my guests was vegan and had to ask several times, what vegan safe options there was. Food was great but it took three hours to get it, we were offered no refills on our drinks and were stereotyped from the getgo. The waitress would not split our bill, so we divided by cards. One of my guests was charged twice.
Absolutely amazing food and views!
We celebrated our third year anniversary here. It couldn't have been a better choice. The entire staff here made our night special. Our dinners (filet & lobster) were perfectly cooked, along with a beautiful presentation. Our water and wine glasses never had to be asked for and not once did we ever feel rushed...service was excellent. Thank you for making our night out a memorable experience.
The place was amazing and the service was first class !!
I’m pretty sure my lamb chops were previously frozen, not fresh, and the meat was tough. The chicken dish my partner had was an odd preparation, not good. The lobster and streak my daughters had was pretty good, maybe that’s what they do best, seafood and steak??? Bottom line, it was WAY over priced for quality of the food!!!!! From what I can tell you’re paying for the view. The view at sunset was beautiful!
Had a great dinner at the restaurant the food was extraordinary
I recommend coming here at least once. what a wonderful place. and the food matched the excitement of the ocean.
Amazing food, breath taking ocean view, great service. One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life!
It was a 5 star night. It starts with the ocean view at high tide and is only enhanced by the fine dining, service and friendly atmosphere. It was a spectacular 36th anniversary experience.
Everyone there was very personal and kind. I am not the type of person to spend $100 for a meal. So this was a big deal for me. No body looked down their nose at me. I liked that. The food was presented beautifully. To be honest, I have never seen white asparagus before. I do prefer the green asparagus. The halibut was perfect. The chief should be proud. It was nice that everyone was excited to watch the waves hit the windows. Some people were taking video of the ocean. It was so nice to walk into the restaurant and smell that salt air of the ocean.
Great place to eat
The restaurant did not disappoint. The food, service and ambience was amazing.
We are so happy to see The Marine Room open once again and they have re-opened with the same elegance that we expect. The prices are high but consider the famous chef and the wonderful view. Last night the tide was in and the waves were splashing up against the sea wall. When the surf is higher, we have seen it splash high against the windows for a spectacular experience. But, whether the surf is high or not, the food and service are impeccable.
The Marine room was recommended to us by friends who live in San Diego. They suggested we go at high tide and we booked dinner for that time frame and saved it for the last night of our vacation. It was mesmerizing to watch the waves come so close that the windows were sprayed. Our waiter, John, was very personable and knowledgeable about the wines and food preparation. What I liked most was that he did not rush us through our drinks or dinner. This is a fine dining restaurant with lovely table settings, ambiance and lovely seafood preparations. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
The view, food and service were wonderful. Our server, Hector, made our anniversary dinner a special experience.
Great view and good food
Celebrating a successful year with our financial planner
I was disappointed with our seating. Made our reservation almost as soon as they reopened. Would have thought we would have rated a better table. We were put in a booth In the corner. I have been to the restaurant 5 times over the years and this was the worst seating. Unfortunate as this was our anniversary.
We picked the restaurant because of the location. The views were amazing. Service was great. The food was overpriced for the quality however.
THE VIEW IS A GIVEN AND THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING. HOWEVER, THE HIGHLIGHT WSA THE SERVICE FROM JAVIER P. AND IRMA. PROBABLY THE BEST WE HAVE HAD ANYWHERE. WARM, COMFORTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. THE PEOPLE REALLY MADE THE DIFFERENCE. A DEFINITE 5+ STAR EXPERIENCE.
I was shocked at the end of the meal to discover an unsuspected 5% surcharge on my bill. If it was on the menu it was not obvioius. As this restaurant is newly reopened, there is no excuse for deceptive menu pricing. Every business in the USA has increased costs for all kinds of reasons including ever-increasing government regulations. Inflation results. But, that is no reason to "invent" a new tax which simply goes to the restaurant's profits. Feel free to raise prices to whatever you need, that is fine, but do not sign on to the trend to institutionalize another layer of taxation/fees like in Europe with a "bread charge," "water charge," etc. Just pay your employees whatever is a legal fair wage; pay your suppliers to get fresh ingreadients; and set your menu prices accordingly. I would not have selected this restaurant if I had known you had fallen for this new scheme.
Everything was amazing! Great service, great view, delicious cuisine! We had the caviar, lobster bisque, sea bass, lamb chops, and the lemon cake for dessert and everything was prepared to perfection. I will definitely return when I visit San Diego again.
The welcome was exceptional. Big hats off to Sébastien that gives each customer a personal welcome.
40th anniversary for friends.
