Unbelievable sunset view. Service second to none. Food was outstanding.
Amazing views and unique experience!
Perfect romantic dining experience. Great food, service and views. Couldn’t ask for more. Very special occasion for all of us!
One of our favorites!! Will be back!!!
Jonathan and the team were fantastic. It is my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I look forward to dining with The Marine Room next month.
Fantastic as always.
Food was excellent. Ahi cones and hamachi appetizers were tasty and fresh. All of the entrees at our table were exceptional. Bone in filet, lamb, swordfish and halibut cooked to perfection and great flavors from complimenting accompaniments. Service was very good and the ocean view stunning.
Overall it was a great experienced . Delicious food. waiter who took our order was great . Except the person who collect our used plates and change our utensils not so great . Been so many different places in fine dine in restaurants such as Japan . Europe. Canada . but this was just ok . But food was great
Such a wonderful ambiance! Will definitely visit again for the excellent food! So kind and gracious for every request. Will make it a part of our regular travel plans annually.
Did not care for the music. Mellow music would be better
Great food and you can not beat the view!
Excellent dinner and service.
Good recommendations from the waiter.
Preparation, taste and presentation of the food were second to none!
The Marine Room was somewhere that we always wanted to try and, because of the cost, we waited until our anniversary to go. The experience overall was really good. The service was excellent. The food was also very good, but the selection was limited. If you have a picky eater in your party, you might not want to go. One of us loves all food and thought everything was 5 stars. The other only ate the filet mignon, which was also excellent. Pretty much all the food had some form of mushroom or truffle on it, which limits it for anyone with food sensitivities. The chef did swap the truffle potatoes for crispy polenta (which was appreciated) but then went on to serve the filet mignon with two mushrooms on the plate. The lavender lemon cake and the chocolate lava cake were both excellent and a great way to end the night. If you want a very good fine dining experience with a beautiful view and upper class food, you will definitely want to try The Marine Room.
Food was excellent, service exceptional. A great experience.
Lobster bisque still good but bread with it was forgettable.
Food was quite good and large portions.
$45 corkage is most I have ever been charged.
Exceptional setting, accompanied by exceptional cuisine. Great wine at surprisingly (for a restaurant) reasonable prices. Impeccable service by very knowledgeable and competent staff. It doesn't get much better.
Our waiter was somehow reticent during our visit but we still enjoyed good atmosphere and the view of beaches/waves.
Valet parking was smooth.
Nice restaurant, beautiful ocean view, service was alright. Food was tasty, nothing to brag about. Overall great however nothing amazing.
This has been our favorite restaurant for the last four years. From the valet, hostess, to wait staff, everyone is the absolute soul of professionalism. The blonde hostess lady (didn't get her name) greeted us warmly with a smile as we came down the stairs, engaging my lady in light banter as she walked us to our table. Our server Rob greeted us within a minute after we sat and he timed every course perfectly throughout the night, never interrupting us but still making sure we were looked after. Soft spoken Sumner appeared out of nowhere to fill our water and to clear our table just in time.
The food... my word. We ordered their version of High Tide Tiki (at Rob's suggestion) and a vodka martini, followed by a beet salad and crab cake, to start the night off. The drinks were perfect; HT Tiki wasn't syrupy at all as many fruit- infused drinks tend to be and my martini was just the right blend of vodka with a splash of vermouth. Our main course was salmon and swordfish. As always, my girl took the nibble of my swordfish, after which she promptly stole it and replace it with the salmon. Of course, I didn't mind it at all, especially since they're both cooked to perfection - soft and tender fish ensconced in a very slightly crunchy shell and perfectly moist.
I highly, highly recommend The Marine Room.
p.s. The view of the wind- swept beach side is stunning... but you already knew that.
Ambiance, service, and food were very good. A wonderful dinner for our 22nd anniversary. We will definitely go again soon.
A perfect evening. We went the day after Christmas and had the best meal in a relaxed, mellow setting. Our server Rob and his assistant Sumner were just fantastic, as was the food. We went all out with crab cakes, salmon tartare cones, Caesar salad, Baja swordfish, and the two-pound lobster. All of it delicious and decadent. Finished with a ginger/chocolate dacquoise that was pretty decadent in itself. Add the magnificent view and you simply couldn't have a better dining experience. We wondered how things might be with the new executive chef in charge and found that the quality could not be higher. Really impressed in every possible way.
The team led by Sebastian set us up with a wonderful 5 seat table to celebrate my parents’ anniversary!
Christmas Dinner. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Fantastic Southern California experience!
Beautiful ocean view with wonderful ambiance. Food looks like art on a plate and tastes delicious. 5 star service.
Javier was perfect in every way. Attentive, but not intrusive. Friendly, but not too much. Like I said....perfect.
Crab cake was overcooked and overpriced. Cappuccino pie was overpriced hula pie .Service and setting were lovely.
The restaurant is located on great location in La Jolla Shores. That’s about it.
The restaurant really charge you for a view that you can’t see in the dark anyway.
The service is awful and the food isn’t much better.
I don’t recommend this restaurant.

The valet was a delight and the busser was attentive ... beyond that, it was not the exemplary dining experience we'd grown to expect at The Marine Room.
Most disturbing was the haughty attitude of the staff. The hostess brusquely told my husband to remove his had, when a gentle point towards his head or even a *please* would have sufficed. Our server was the most taciturn waiter I've ever encountered. We felt ignored and invisible compared to the attention he gave his other tables. After cocktails, I would have loved a glass of wine with my meal, but he never returned to ask. He neglected to inquire if everything was to our liking until we were nearly finished with our meal. From the moment we were seated, he made us feel as if we were taking up valuable space meant for others.
At least our busser wished us a warm Merry Christmas and Feliz Navidad as we prepared to leave.

Delicious food and great service. Christmas caroling was a great touch
We have dined at the Marine Room several times over the years and were disappointed with the food this time. The meal was ok but nothing special as it has been in the past. My husband had the prime rib and it was a very thin cut of meat. Did not meet our expectations.
Great views, great service, great food, great atmosphere. A little pricey on the wine selections, but the food was well priced for the quality and experience. Good place for a date or special occasion.
We loved it…very unique!
Delicious food, presented well. And the view of the ocean is unmatched!
It was a wonderful experience from the moment we drove up to the door! EVERY employee was welcoming and friendly! The food was outstanding as we expected so could not have a better experience than what we had! Congratulations to the entire team at the Marine Room!
They gave is the queen table
Servers attentive, warm, enjoyed our brief conversations
Even had the car ready for us when we walked out
They gave us a 5 star experience to celebrate our 43rd with
Expensive but worth it!
Will come back again
Terrible! So disappointed and our bill was $800 for 4 people. It was freezing and uncomfortable and the food was cold.

Great dinner to celebrate our 46th Wedding Anniversary. First time we've been since Bernard had retired. Even though menu has changed, everything was delicious.
