The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was nice and the entrees were amazing. We started with the Wellington trio which was good but not exactly what I expected. My husband had a prime rib eye and 2 seared jumbo scallops and a trio of Woodford bourbon sample shots. I had the halibut and 1 glass of wine. Our meal was $166.00. We have only been able to eat there this one time and will probably never go back because of the high prices. But it was a great experience and I definitely recommend it if you can afford it.
The entrees were way too salty. Our server, although very polite, forgot our soup then didn't bring our bread until we were almost done with our meal. He did comp my soup, but my husband never got his. The brie was very good and so was the dessert. The cost was way more than a much better meal elsewhere. Not really worth the expense.
GO HERE! I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant. My waiter was there when I needed him and friendly and helpful. I went early in the evening and during a Thunder game, so the place was quiet, but I could tell it is a very quaint and cozy spot to go with friends or on a special date. They had a small bar in the back where some friends were hanging out and it appeared as though there was outdoor seating as well. The food was out of this world. Best salmon I had in a very long time. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
We've been to Mantel before and enjoyed it. This night, however, was a bit of a bust. It was very crowded as there was a big concert (Gaga) at the venue nearby, which we were attending. We allowed plenty of time for dinner before the concert, but still had slow service after our initial drinks. The food was good, but not as good as we've had before at Mantel. It also seemed like the menu was much more limited than in the past. Drinks were very good, as was the wine. Our server was friendly enough until we asked her to bring the check with our entrees so that we could make the concert. She was pretty cold after that. There are a lot of great restaurants now in OKC, so not sure we'll be back to Mantel for a while.
We had a great time! The service was awesome!! They really made us feel special. The food was delicious; we all ordered different things and agreed were wonderful. They even had a special dessert treat as we celebrated our upcoming 70th birthdays. A fantastic meal!
Our lunch was delicious. The white wine shrimp fettuccine was very flavorful but not overwhelming with strong spices. The shrimp was firm and fresh. The sauce was very tasty. The lobster bisque was very tasty.
We also enjoyed the halibut lunch special and the fish was well cooked, flaky and the reduction sauce paired well with the fish. The risotto was perfectly cooked.
We enjoyed a nice Paso Robles provenant Cabernet that was priced right.
Great food experience overall.
Excellent. Probably my favorite restaurant in OKC. We had a reservation at 7:30 and were seated a little late which was no problem and we didn't complain. But they still comp'd an appetizer for us even though we did not say anything and told them it was not necessary. Great service and great food!
Dined at Mantel's Wine Bar and Bistro recently and enjoyed my dinner here very much. This restaurant is located in Bricktown on Sheridan Avenue.
Dinner reservation was made by way of TripAdvisor (through OpenTable) around one week in advance. Reservation confirmation was received instantly. We were well received upon arrival and serviced very well throughout our meal.
For appetiser, we tried the Chicken Brochettes ($13) that were interesting. This was a serving of five chicken with artichoke surrounded with a strip of bacon. While tasting pretty good, the bacon did overpowered the artichoke. Might try something different next time.
For main, we had the Montel Delmonico ($39) prepared middle rare. This was a nice cut, well-grilled, juicy and flavourful - a very good steak. The sauce served with the steak was unnecessary, detracting from the great taste of the steak on its own. Asparagus and garlic mash potato were perfect sides. I'd happily reorder this steak again.
In the end, I enjoyed my recent meal at Mantel's as much as a dinner taken here four years ago. I found no reason to not dine here again during future stays in Oklahoma City.
Tell the chef to put down the salt shaker! Both our entrees and the side dishes were salted to the point that they were almost inedible. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and the previous evening we had cocktails on their patio and listened to the jazz combo that was playing. That was nice, and i would recommend it. I would never eat there again or recommend it to anyone.
We did not even know about "The Mantle" until a trusted friend recommended it to us. The interior is like stepping into Tony Soprano's favorite restaurant. Dark woods. Spacious seating. Attentive wait staff. Excellent food.
This was our 15th anniversary dinner. We won't wait until the 16th to return.
