The Mantel Wine Bar and Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We had a great time! The service was awesome!! They really made us feel special. The food was delicious; we all ordered different things and agreed were wonderful. They even had a special dessert treat as we celebrated our upcoming 70th birthdays. A fantastic meal!
Our lunch was delicious. The white wine shrimp fettuccine was very flavorful but not overwhelming with strong spices. The shrimp was firm and fresh. The sauce was very tasty. The lobster bisque was very tasty.
We also enjoyed the halibut lunch special and the fish was well cooked, flaky and the reduction sauce paired well with the fish. The risotto was perfectly cooked.
We enjoyed a nice Paso Robles provenant Cabernet that was priced right.
Great food experience overall.
Excellent. Probably my favorite restaurant in OKC. We had a reservation at 7:30 and were seated a little late which was no problem and we didn't complain. But they still comp'd an appetizer for us even though we did not say anything and told them it was not necessary. Great service and great food!
Dined at Mantel's Wine Bar and Bistro recently and enjoyed my dinner here very much. This restaurant is located in Bricktown on Sheridan Avenue.
Dinner reservation was made by way of TripAdvisor (through OpenTable) around one week in advance. Reservation confirmation was received instantly. We were well received upon arrival and serviced very well throughout our meal.
For appetiser, we tried the Chicken Brochettes ($13) that were interesting. This was a serving of five chicken with artichoke surrounded with a strip of bacon. While tasting pretty good, the bacon did overpowered the artichoke. Might try something different next time.
For main, we had the Montel Delmonico ($39) prepared middle rare. This was a nice cut, well-grilled, juicy and flavourful - a very good steak. The sauce served with the steak was unnecessary, detracting from the great taste of the steak on its own. Asparagus and garlic mash potato were perfect sides. I'd happily reorder this steak again.
In the end, I enjoyed my recent meal at Mantel's as much as a dinner taken here four years ago. I found no reason to not dine here again during future stays in Oklahoma City.
Tell the chef to put down the salt shaker! Both our entrees and the side dishes were salted to the point that they were almost inedible. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, and the previous evening we had cocktails on their patio and listened to the jazz combo that was playing. That was nice, and i would recommend it. I would never eat there again or recommend it to anyone.
We did not even know about "The Mantle" until a trusted friend recommended it to us. The interior is like stepping into Tony Soprano's favorite restaurant. Dark woods. Spacious seating. Attentive wait staff. Excellent food.
This was our 15th anniversary dinner. We won't wait until the 16th to return.

It was my girlfriends birthday. It was a Monday night, we had the place to ourselves less maybe 6 tables. The intimacy was a huge bonus for the occasion. I'm sure this is not typical on the weekends. She had the salmon and I had the fillet. Both were very, very good. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer. They were very tasty. I had two VT's from the bar. They were very generous and had the desired effect. The service was attentive but not overly so. Great food, nice evening, would definitely recommend.
There was a day when The Mantle was our favorite fine dining spot, but with so many other choices now in OKC, we hadn't been there in awhile and I don't think we'll be back. The service was good and it was nice and quiet, which I appreciate for meal conversations, but, for the price, the food didn't compare to what we experience at other OKC fine dining places.
This was our second time to eat at The Mantel. We live in another city 250 miles away. The food is very good. Nice atmosphere for a special occasion but not pinky in the air formal. We got good service with friendly attentive wait staff. Interesting menu. Pork chops were yummy.
Upon entering we were greeted promptly and courteously. Many tables were open. We were seated at the rear of the restaurant. Passing through the restaurant there were many changes in temperature. Our table was uncomfortably warm. The most comfortable area was the bathroom. No tables in there. We were given a complimentary glad of champagne. 35th anniversary. Had to flag our server to begin ordering. After that he was very attentive. Crab cakes the best I've ever had. Wine excellent. Wife's very expensive steak was too sinewy by far. My fish was perfect
My veggies so salty they burned my mouth. Wine was excellent. The negatives outweighed the positives. For the money, a poor value indeed.
Happen to see the restaurant during the day. Checked it out on Open Table and made a reservation. Being the weekend after July 4th OKC was relatively quite. This was a great spot for a romantic night out. Food was great and the service was outstanding but @ 9:15 pm business was slow so our waiter was able to give us special attention. Definitely will make a return visit when I'm back in the city.
1st off the parking is terrible. There was a Valet but no sign saying there was Valet parking so how would you know?? Got seated with our reservation at a 2 person table. Hardly anyone in the restaurant and we get a tiny table. Now I know why there weren't many in the place. We ordered Calamari for appetizer. Calamari must have been left on the beach for a week. Tough as shoe leather. Breading just fell off of it into the sauce. Come on! OK on to the Entrée. We ordered both of the Specials for this night. Arctic Char and the New York Strip. The Char was ok. Maybe a little overcooked. A lot like Salmon. Overcooked is trash. I ordered my steak medium well. Steak was raw nearly all the way through. I can eat it like that so I didn't complain. Not only was it raw it was full of tendon or some crap. Terrible piece of meat. No juice with the steak either. With 20% tip $207.00. Really!???? Live and learn. Never again to the Mantle in OK City. Embarrassed I took my date there. Good thing we were pretty oblivious the food talking to one another.
